Chapter 1061: Chapter 1061: Are You Conner Flores’s Wife?

Lilianna Norman stood atop a mountain peak, her gaze filled with worry as she watched the purple lightning tribulation strike down in the distance.

Purple Lightning Tribulation!

This guy is really strong, to have such a major event for his advancement!

Watching Carson Flores endure each strike of the tribulation, admiration crept onto Lilianna Norman’s tense face.

Carson Flores is strong!

Ever since the True Dragon Secret Realm, Lilianna Norman had been paying close attention to Carson Flores, after all, he is the son of the Demon Emperor.

Carson Flores ventured into Harmony Hollow, Valley of Death, and the Eternal Tombfield, yet came out alive and unscathed – he had to be admired, especially since he was merely a Nascent Soul!

Lilianna Norman’s feelings towards Carson Flores were complicated, filled with admiration, gratitude, and a subtle sense of being overwhelmed.

He is the Human Emperor, and she is the Demon Race Holy Maiden. By rights, their identities should be in complete opposition, the kind that could fight to the death upon meeting. Yet Carson Flores had saved her life not once, but twice.

In the True Dragon Secret Realm, it could be said that Carson Flores was saving himself; in the Underground Tomb Chamber, it could be said he was saving humanity. But it’s undeniable; without Carson Flores, Lilianna Norman would have either died at the hands of the True Dragon Soul or in the clutches of the Demon Ancestor, her body seized for their resurrection.

This debt of gratitude, she had to acknowledge.

Her interactions with Carson Flores felt peculiarly strange.

Coming from the Mortal Realm, his views on the Human Race, the Demon Race, and the Barbarian Wilderness seemed completely different from those born and raised in the Barbarian Wilderness.

He held unique and personal views about the world; his identity as Human Emperor never seemed to constrain his words and actions.

He was himself first and foremost, Carson Flores, and then the Human Emperor.

He wasn’t as passionately impulsive or as heroically just as she had imagined, but he had his own bottom lines and principles.

The days living together with him were natural, calm, and comfortable.

He would sit in a breakfast shop eating pork buns and drinking porridge like any ordinary person, curiously observing everything around him, humbly asking questions about what he didn’t understand, without a hint of the arrogance of a cultivator or even that of a city lord.

His conversations with her were natural and relaxed, much like a friend. He never asked her to do anything, not even insisting that she stay. It seemed that if she wished to sacrifice herself for the Demon Race, allowed herself to be taken over by the Demon Ancestor for resurrection, he probably wouldn’t have stopped her.

Watching Carson Flores struggle in the midst of the thunder, Lilianna Norman’s mind unintentionally filled with past memories, causing her gaze insensibly to become gentler.

As the final strike of heavenly tribulation descended, Carson Flores was directly struck down. Lilianna Norman’s heart skipped a beat, but when she saw him once again narrowly stabilize his body in midair, she let out a long sigh of relief.

The spiritual energy backfired, and Lilianna Norman’s eyes brightened. That counts as crossing the tribulation, right?

Staring at Carson Flores, still motionless in the sky, worry surfaced once again in Lilianna Norman’s heart. And when the backflow of spiritual energy ended and Carson Flores fell like a rock into the valley, her heart violently trembled.

That couldn’t be a problem, could he be dead?

He had completely stopped responding earlier...

A sudden inexplicable panic rose in Lilianna Norman’s heart.

Logically, the death of the Human Emperor during tribulation crossing, falling to the heavenly tribulation, would be a great occurrence for the Demon Race. But at that moment, there wasn’t a trace of joy in her heart, only significant concern.

After Carson Flores fell into the valley, there was no more movement, and the clouds from the tribulation dispersed in the sky as if nothing had ever happened. But Lilianna Norman’s heart couldn’t be calmed.

Without thinking, she clenched her fists, her lips tightly pressed. After hesitating for three to five minutes, she finally bit her teeth, put on a veil, and flew up, heading towards the valley.

Soon, she approached the secluded valley and after a quick scan, she saw the mountain cave where the Vajra Bandits were hiding, even spotting some of the Vajra Bandits outside.

Her appearance quickly caught the attention of the Vajra Bandits. Without waiting for their questions, Lilianna Norman bit down on her teeth and descended from the sky.

She knew coming alone could be dangerous, especially since Kellan Gentry had seen her before and even wanted to kill her. But with Carson Flores’s life hanging in the balance, she still came.

If he’s dead, even if she died, she could at most consider it repaying him with her own life.

She owed him two lives; repaying one didn’t seem like a loss.

"Who are you, and what brings you here?"

Lilianna Norman’s voice, clear and crisp, replied, "I’m looking for Conner Flores..."

Zaire Schneider stepped out from the crowd, his face lighting up with recognition, "I remember now, we met in Greown City, you are Conner Flores’s wife?"

Wife?

Lilianna Norman felt a ripple in her heart, pursing her lips, she affirmed, "Yes, has something happened to him?"

Zaire Schneider spoke enthusiastically, "He’s unconscious, we’re trying to figure out how to take care of him, and you showed up, just in time, come on, come on..."

Learning Carson Flores was not dead relieved Lilianna Norman. The courage she had mustered drained away, and she initially thought to find an excuse to leave. But having acknowledged her identity as the wife, how could she leave?

With her husband unconscious and lying there, for the wife to turn around and walk away would be too strange, wouldn’t it?
