Chapter 413 - 417: Pen Fairy (16)

Chapter 413: Chapter 417: Pen Fairy (16)

Shu Ya returned to her room, a picture of despair and lose, the little teddy bear in her bedroom moved its fingers.

Then, the Little Ghost Baby drifted out from the teddy bear.

The Little Ghost Baby no longer had the rosy, delicate appearance it previously had, looking exceptionally terrifying with its charred body. The sight pierced Shu Ya’s heart, almost suffocating her with grief.

Her wavering heart, upon seeing Cheng Bin earlier, was now firm once again.

The Little Ghost Baby, as dark as pitch, nestled into Shu Ya’s embrace, a look of contentment on its face, yet not a single moan of pain escaped its lips despite the severe pain it was enduring.

It didn’t want its mother to feel sad and guilty again.

But it really hurt so much.

The yin energy seeping from its body into the air was making it weaker and weaker.

Once all the yin energy in its body dissipated, it would no longer be able to stay with its mother.

Shu Ya made a phone call, and quickly charges were established against Cheng Bin for several offenses including corruption, bribery, betrayal of company secrets, and human trafficking.

Cheng Bin had underestimated her energy. He had no idea how many people had been helped by her generous parents when they were alive.

With just a word from her, many uncles would lend their aid.

Yet, having to use up so many favors all at once made Shu Ya cover her face and weep.

She was an unfilial daughter, and she apologized to her parents.

They had said, unless there was absolutely no other choice...

Shu Ya felt a gentle tug on her sleeve; the Little Ghost Baby, with eyes full of black pupils, looked at her worriedly.

Sniffling miserably, Shu Ya said, "I’m sorry, Mommy is useless, I’ve angered that important person and she won’t help us."

Compared to Shu Ya’s embarrassment and reluctance, the Little Ghost Baby didn’t care, lightly shaking its head and making a few gestures with its sounds of ’ah ah ah’.

It just didn’t want to see its mother sad, which is why it asked her to seek help from that important person.

After all, that person had made it very clear to him, he must bear the consequences.

Being able to accompany his mother for a while was already satisfying for him.

The Little Ghost Baby only had the intelligence of a few months old, a limited capacity in its brain; seeing its mother cry in heartache, it couldn’t think of any way to comfort her.

Anxiously twirling, it could only join in crying loudly.

The wounds on its body, inflicted by the Heavenly Master, were now losing yin energy even faster.

Quickly, the Little Ghost Baby’s slender legs disappeared, leaving only its upper body floating in the air.

Shu Ya was startled, stopping her tears immediately, wanting to cry but not daring to.

"Baby, don’t be afraid, if that important person won’t help, we can find someone else powerful to help us... Mommy has money, a lot of money, surely someone will be willing to help you."

The Little Ghost Baby just shook its head, its eyes filled with adoration for Shu Ya.

Then, Shu Ya watched in horror as the child that had accompanied her for a while became translucent, and with a poof, turned into black dust that merged into the air.

"Baby...." A heart-wrenching cry erupted in the room.

But no matter how Shu Ya wailed and cried, she no longer received those sweet responses.

The toys she had bought for her baby were still in the bedroom, the fuzzy teddy bear that her baby loved the most lying on the carpet, never again would she see it wobbly stand up.

Shu Ya sat on the floor in a daze, clinging to the teddy bear, mumbling something continuously.

It was unknown how much time had passed when the room went from brightly lit to being invaded by darkness.

Shu Ya didn’t move a muscle, until the housemaid came upstairs and knocked on the door the next day, bringing her back from her stupor.

"Miss, the police are here," said the housemaid. "They say they’ve come to take the Master away."

Shu Ya looked on blankly, dazed for a few seconds, before she realized the meaning behind the words uttered by the housemaid.

The housemaids in the Shu Family had been working there since her parents’ generation, and they always addressed Shu Ya as Miss.

Cheng Bin had dismissed them earlier, leaving them all with lingering dissatisfaction.

So now that Miss had locked Cheng Bin in the basement, they carried out her orders very thoroughly.

As for sympathy... what was that?

If Miss went to such lengths, it must be because that scoundrel did something unforgivable to her.

They had long seen through him; he was no good, and pitied their Miss for being deceived by him for so long.

Shu Ya, with an especially gentle tone to the maid who was full of concern for her, said, "Then you and Uncle He can bring him out and hand him over to the police."

Upon hearing Miss’s words, the maid couldn’t contain her joy.

She had been worried sick, fearing that the Miss might soften her heart toward that man again.

She had heard that he wanted to take over the Shu Family’s company.

An ungrateful wretch, how good Miss had been to him...

The maid emphatically agreed, fearing that Shu Ya might change her mind, and hurried off like a gust of wind.

Shu Ya gave a bitter smile as she patted her own face.

Shu Ya oh Shu Ya, how blind could you be? Even the servants at home saw through what you have only now come to understand.

She was blind; her heart had been blinded as well.

The loss of her baby erased the last bit of warmth from the bottom of Shu Ya’s heart.

She absolutely could not forgive Cheng Bin anymore.

Shu Ya hid in her bedroom, listening to the constant shouting from Cheng Bin downstairs, yelling about suing her for illegal imprisonment.

Shu Ya couldn’t help but snicker, for he still didn’t understand the real power of the Shu Family.

Even if the Shu Family fell from grace, the in-laws and various uncles of the Shu Family wouldn’t stand by and let outsiders swallow up their properties.

Even if she took half of his life, she had good reasons to shake off any responsibility in public eye.

She could take revenge on Cheng Bin, have him thrown in prison, and let him thoroughly ’enjoy’ his time there, but her child would never reappear before her again.

No matter how much Shu Ya regretted and suffered, it was no longer Su Li’s concern.

Nevertheless, she once again appeared outside the villa of the Shu Family.

She watched as Cheng Bin was escorted to the police car, handcuffs on his wrists, and as someone landed a punch on his mouth for his foul language, causing him to spit a mix of blood and dislodged teeth.

She also saw Shu Ya on the second floor of the Shu Family villa, at an open window, holding a teddy bear, her face streaked with tears, her lips bitten till they bled.

Su Li watched the whole scene with an expressionless face, and after shifting her gaze away, she beckoned with her hand and a palm-sized cloud of black mist gathered before her, shaping into a small infant.

It was the size of a little puppet, evidently a miniature version of the Little Ghost Baby from before.

Su Li gave it a glance, then turned her head away in disdain, saying bluntly, "You really do look ugly, a waste of all the yin energy I fed you."

Xiao Xiao, the little Ghost Baby, looked confused, as if still trying to make sense of his current situation.

He raised his hand, tiny as a chicken’s claw, filled with doubts.

Hadn’t he dissipated, his soul scattered? How, how could he still appear before Lord Ghost Immortal?

"Do you still want to stay by your mother’s side?"

Su Li didn’t give Xiao Xiao Ghost Baby much time to wonder, and posed the question directly.

On hearing this, the little Ghost Baby instinctively looked towards the Shu Family villa. Catching sight of his mother’s figure, he made no move to step forward.
