Chapter 63: Discredit the Queen.

A/n: I had fever yesterday, sorry for late update.

Harley retched and retched, she felt something was wrong with the potion or whatever it was that the system has given her to drink. There was definitely something wrong with it because now her insides felt like they were freezing and she wasn’t even kidding! Every single muscle and organ in her body felt like it was getting covered with a layer of ice and believe her when she said that it wasn’t a good feeling, because it really wasn’t—— she tried to cough out what she has just drunk but no matter how many times she tried to throw it up, it seemed as if the potion has stuck itself to her insides.

She stayed on her four for a very long time and kept on gagging, hoping that something would come out of her.... But nothing came out. Her body’s temperature kept falling down bit by bit and when Harley thought that she was going to die, the feeling was gone as if vanishing in a puff of smoke —- she coughed out loud and then asked her system, " What was that? What did you give me?"

" Please do not worry master, system will never harm you," came the mechanical response. "It’s supposed to make your body strong enough to withstand any pressure, so of course, it’s going to be a little harsh but there is nothing to worry about, you do feel great don’t you?"

Harley pushed herself off the ground and breathed in and out, honestly, she indeed felt good. It was as if someone has cleaned her insides thoroughly, it felt that good now that she was able to feel everything again, her body was no longer as heavy as it was before and she felt quick and energised. Moving an arm up and down she agreed, " Well, I do feel good. You are right about that, my body feels much lighter and agile, have I gotten strong enough to take that Dragon Queen down now?"

" Success is a matter of long-term journey, master," answered the system with ease, as if it hadn’t fed something dark and twisted to Harley. " You have to take it for a long time before you will be able to take on the Dragon Queen, after all, don’t forget, she is a Dragon shifter and you are an omega, if you want to go against her, your beast need to be stronger than just a canary, you see?"

After she heard her system’s words, Harley gritted her teeth—— it was as if she was slapped by someone. That was right, how can she forget that her beast was nothing but a stupid canary. " Can’t we do something about it?"

" Not at the moment, the body that you have possessed was born with the properties of an omega, it will take a bit of time to get you another beast," said the system after careful consideration. " But with me around, you will surely get a big beast sooner or later."

" How big?" asked Harley excitedly, will she become a dragon just like the Dragon Queen? If so then her life will be perfect! Her eyes glinted with a maniacal glimmer as she thought about her future where she would be on par with the Dragon Queen, becoming a dragon shifter will help her get everything that she wanted and she will also get her hands on the men she has been eyeing so long for, what was more if she became a dragon shifter then Bree wouldn’t be the only dragon shifter of the country, with that alone she will have a chance to fight for the throne!

Who will care about whether or not she was sired by the previous Emperor or not then?

The system paused as if pondering but in truth, it was waiting for the signal from the one who created it —— there was a snap like someone snapped their fingers and the system’s answer echoed in Harley’s head, " Big enough for you to hold against the Dragon Queen."

Harley pouted when she didn’t receive a positive response but she didn’t think much of it. If the system has said that it will be able to change her omegas properties into something more powerful then she was going to believe it no matter what!

" All right, there is nothing more right?" she asked arching her back as she walked towards her bed, after throwing a tantrum and shouting like a maniac, she was really tired.

There was no response from the system instead a loud ding echoed in her head as another task was given out to her ——

" Discredit the Queen —— Steal the document with Duke Cilantro’s proposal to increase the taxes and have it stamped with the seal of the Queen. Do not sign but stamp, discredit points to be awarded ——10"

Harley paused as she carefully listened to what the system had said and blinked her eyes. " Discredit the Queen?"

" That’s right, master." came the system response as it carefully explained to Harley what she needed to do. " The Queen is no longer on any drugs that make things difficult for you master, if you do not discredit her as the Queen then you won’t be able to become a good Queen in the eyes of the citizens even if you overthrow her, so please discredit the current Queen as an unjust and greedy Queen."

The task sounded difficult but Harley has to say that the system was right, she has to discredit the Queen, now that the latter was no longer ’insane’ and ’tyrannical’, if she didn’t stop the Queen from regaining her fame now then she will never be able to get hold of the throne properly.

Unlike the Queen she wasn’t trained to rule the Empire, it will take some time for her to learn how the entire thing worked if she could not do it properly then the ministers would compare her to the former Queen... if that happens then she would be humiliated to the max!

So, the best way to deal with such embarrassment was to discredit the Queen from the beginning, so that no matter what she does, she will still be considered better than the Queen!
