Chapter 189: Looking for the Phoenix offspring

She didn’t even look at Yakov silently dismissing him as if he didn’t mean anything to her.

" I understand your majesty." Yakov stared at Bree before dropping the matter altogether but inwardly he gritted his teeth, though he was the one who asked her to do this, he couldn’t help but be furious at her subtle disregard. How dare she be this rude to him? He asked her to be subtly rude to him not blatantly ignore him!

Ah, he was really glaring, he was glaring so hard. If looks could kill, Bree was sure that she might have been dead ten to fifteen times by now... what a sin. She was just doing what he asked her to do why was he complaining to her now? Honestly, he looked like a young man who swore to diet but ended up crying a river the second he opened the refrigerator and found nothing but kale.

What was with the glare?

Stop glaring at her like she did something wrong!

" Haha, I see, I see ...if that’s the case then your majesty, why don’t you stay for a little while? You can see for yourself what you want." Duke Cilantro looked at the neat plate in front of Bree and nodded to himself, he had drugged every single thing on the dining table and he would continue to do so in the future as well, what was more ... his eyes shifted to the small ruby orb that was glowing in the corner of the dining room and took a sip of his wine. With this little beauty, he will be able to find out at once whether the Archmage cast a magic spell or not.

With such preparations, he should be able to get hold of the Empress pretty soon, if so then he might as well become the next Emperor!

Bree glanced at the smug smile of the Duke before turning her head away from the man in question and taking a sip of her wine that vanished in an instant.

" Did you find anything?" Once they returned to their room, Bree questioned the two men in front of her while staring at the food items that they have gathered from the dining table.

" We have to report it to the magic tower, I detected that the Duke seemed to have mixed something in the food but I need the tools to take a look at what it is," Blaise answered with a smile but something about his smile looked really off to Bree, why was he smiling like that?

" Can you tone that smile down a little," hissed Yakov under his breath as he looked at the man next to him. " You are looking a lot scarier than your usual self."

"Hah, is that so? Then I think it must be because some nasty punk tried to harm my wife, I can’t help but want to burn this entire place down." Blaise answered and not for one second did he look like he was joking.

" Third consort ——" Yakov was exasperated enough to hit someone but then he heard someone chuckle and then that soft chuckle turned loud bit by bit causing both of them to turn and look at the culprit behind it.

Bree felt two gazes locked on her before she cleared her throat and hurriedly looked away as she said, " I see then you can send it to the magic tower, I will wait for the answer."

Blaise didn’t say anything, he simply smiled. On the other hand, Yakov simply shook his head and turned to look at Aileen, "Go and look for something to eat. We can’t stay hungry throughout our entire stay here."

Though the food that was served to him and Blaise wasn’t touched by the servers it was never too much to stay on guard no matter what.

" I understand, master." Aileen shifted before turning into a small snake as he slithered past the window and then vanished from the room.

Bree watched him leave but she couldn’t help but ask, " Will he be able to bring anything with that small size of his?"

" Aileen wouldn’t have agreed if he wasn’t confident enough to fulfil the task I have given him," replied Yakov before he looked around the room and then walked towards the small red globe that was sitting at the end of the room on a small cabinet. " I saw this thing in the dining room as well, why is it here now?"

Both Bree and Blaise turned to look at him before Blaise picked up the small magic detector and snorted carelessly. "It’s nothing, just some gunk that I innovated when I was bored. It’s supposed to detect magic spells if cast in one room, maybe the Duke doesn’t want us poking around, so he prepared it just in case but the thing is that I am the one who innovated that thing, so ... it’s not as difficult for me to take care of it."

Yakov was glad that Blaise was able to deal with the magic detector but at the same time, he really hated the smug expression on his face. Why in the world was he looking like that? Did he think that he was all that major hunk just because he did something so simple as that =?

" Well, it’s a great thing that this thing was taken care of," Bree glanced at the red magic detector that was sitting dully on the cabinet. " Because we really to do some major work in this palace."

"Right you are your majesty," as Blaise spoke he took out a small compass that had six different colours sitting at the edges instead of directions and snapped his fingers before the compass started to twirl around stopping at the vibrant red that was at the top of the circle. "This territory indeed has a few Phoenix offsprings hidden." As he walked to the window the compass started to spin even wildly before the needle detached itself from the compass and pointed to the west. " Found them."
