Chapter 181: Saphira

Bree felt the glass shatter underneath her feet, the mirage broke and then she was falling. She couldn’t open her eyes with the pieces of glass falling down at her face but at the same time, she couldn’t help but panic. She was going to die, wasn’t she? The greenhouse that was holding her down was gone and so were the hallucinations. Yakov and the others no longer looked at her with those eyes that the men in her past life used to, she was no longer tied to a chain with a collar around her neck. She was free.

But despite everything the wide chasm that was filled with black miasma was still there, it hasn’t vanished and was still gushing under her with an intensity that she couldn’t even fathom.

She was going to die just like this? Why?

This wasn’t fair, if she died then wouldn’t the things that she saw in the greenhouse become true? Harley would take over the throne, like the leading lady she was and then the four men would be pinned next to her as if the Brianna of the past and the present didn’t even exist.

Why?

Her heart pumped fiercely.

Why?

Why should she give up on her life like this? Because she wasn’t the leading lady of this world? Just because of that she has to die? But so what! So what if she wasn’t the leading lady? She was still the Dragon Queen wasn’t she then why should she be treated like this?

She didn’t want to die.

Boom.

She didn’t want to let go of her second chance so easily again!

Her head started to hurt followed by her limbs and then she felt something hard and rough trying to surface out of her flesh.

Boom Boom. Her warm blood pounded against her skin and then something soared inside her, her bones twisted and cracked before Bree’s head turned hazy and then she was flying.

She was wrapped in something warm but she could still sense that she was floating above the chasm. The one that swirled and roared as if upset at the meal that has flew out of its mouth, Bree raised her head and then she looked past the consciousness that was surrounding hers.

Something warm and hot seared her skin as she turned her head to look at the golden magma that frothed around her but never burned her skin, at most, it heated up her cold limbs and gave her a sense of security. One that she was familiar with.

Saphira.

She recovered.

"Ah, would you look at that the majestic dragon Queen is back?" Leon raised his hand and covered the top of his eyes as he looked at the dragon flying above the forest where he was, his red eyes glittered with amusement. " I thought that I would be able to play with my sister a little more, pity that those ministers only had the guts to please me but didn’t have the guts to poison the Queen. What a pathetic bunch of parasites."

Semel looked at the black dragon with amber streaks flying up in the sky and then hitched the glasses that he was wearing up his nose. " I heard that they are still alive in the Dark tower, the Queen hasn’t killed them off yet. She is trying to get information out of them but they haven’t said anything."

" Because they know that the Queen isn’t going to offer them any benefits except a painless death." Leon changed his voice with a slight snap of his fingers and his sweet voice of Harley returned but even with that soft and sweet voice, his aura couldn’t be suppressed. If anything it only made him look even crazier." They are waiting for us to save them, hoping that they wouldn’t have to die just look at my sister, she tried so hard to save her life. She even suppressed the poison that was flowing in her body and shifted, how can those men give up so easily then?"

" Do you want to leave those men in the hands of the Dragon Queen?" Semel asked with his gaze turning sharp as they watched the imperial army charging through the forest. " They found her much earlier than we thought they will."

Harley peered down at the army that was marching through the forest and smiled with amusement. " That man cares for her more than I thought he does, just look at him."

Both Semel and Estelle turned to look at Yakov who was charging through the forest with a worried look on his face, the wolf ears still twitching at the top of his head. It must have been his hurry of getting close to his mate as soon as possible but he made the basic mistake of not shifting properly.

" Now what, my lord?" Semel asked as he turned to look at his lord, living in the shell of the young girl.

" What else take care of those men first, use anything that you have to but make sure that my revival is wrapped undercover very closely because I want to give my sister the prettiest gift that she never thought she will receive one day." Harley glanced at the army that was wading through the forest and snorted before turning around to leave.

Estelle stared at the Queen’s Beast and clenched her fingers, she trusted the Queen. One day for sure she will be able to escape the grasp of the royal prince either the queen will kill her or she will rescue her but one way or the other she will be free.

" First consort! Her Majesty!" Darren was the first one to catch glimpse of Saphira, he raised his hand and pointed at the dragon flying up in the sky. Yakov raised his head and followed Darren’s gaze and only when his gaze fell on Saphira did his heart that was notched in his throat fell back to its place.

He didn’t even know what happened. One second Bree was standing next to him and then the next second, she was gone ——- lost in a way that he never thought was possible. Fortunately, his kind knew how to track people and he was able to get hold of Bree’s man before she vanished from his side.

After she was gone, it did not take Yakov long to understand that the man who attacked them was just a distraction. He left the man in the arms of another knight and picked a handful of people who were following them to chase after Bree.

He couldn’t understand how Bree was able to get this far and who was behind it but nothing of it mattered to him. The only thing that he cared about was finding her before anything happened to her.

" Your majesty!" The imperial guards raised their voices along with the flames that they were wielding while searching for Bree.

Yakov watched as Saphira’s attention was hooked by the flames and then she shifted the direction in which she was flying.

" Haha, the queen saw us —— wait she is coming this way!" The knight shouted before jumping down on the ground along with others, while Yakov ran after Bree with his entire strength ignoring the way the flapping of her wings ruffled his hair and clothes.

The dragon flew for a long distance before she came to a stop and then fluttered down slowly as her wings skimmed the tops of the trees. She flew lower and lower until she reached an empty ground and finally descended down on the ground——

Sounds of bones popping echoed in the clearing and then Yakov rushed at Bree after shrugging off his jacket. He covered her completely with it before embracing her in his arms, for a second, he really thought that he lost her. If not for the mana energy that he could still track he thought that she was gone ...just the way she arrived in this world.

Out of nowhere.

" Your majesty, are you okay?" Yakov pulled back as he brushed the entangled hair that was knotted and messed up past Bree’s face and brushed the shards of glass that were sticking to her hair and face ignoring the sting of the glass. He was a werewolf anyway, his wounds will heal before he could even hiss in pain.

Bree stared at him for a very long time before she blinked her eyes and then parted her torn lips. " Yakov?"

" That’s right your majesty." His eyes glimmering with concern and worry, he was prepared to rush Bree for emergency treatment but then he heard her cough and sputter before spitting out, " You are an asshole, you know that?"

And then she fainted.

She fainted after calling him an asshole!

" Your majesty?" He came running past everything without caring about anyone much less anyone else and yet she called him an asshole?

" Please wake up and tell me what wrong I have committed!"

" Your majesty!"

" YOUR MAJESTY, MY BLOOD PRESSURE IS GETTING HIGH!"
