" Take her away," Bree turned her head away from Melody to look at her guards. " The Dragniere Empire will not play any role in this case, we wish to be completely neutral. If you want to look for your beloved crown prince so much, look somewhere else."

The guards helped Melody off the ground, the procession of the Navia empire looked at her with a confused glance, some looked truly bewildered while some looked disappointed. Most probably this was a great chance for them to get on the good side of Bree but unfortunately for them, their princess ended up offending the Queen instead of getting close to her.

" Your majesty, did you really see the crown prince of the Navia empire?" Yakov asked with a sharp gaze as he turned to look at Bree, his gaze was very similar to that of a husband questioning his wife about her affair.

Bree raised her hand in front of her face and waved it, " Of course not," after the procession of the Navia empire left, Bree didn’t bother to pretend to be the Dragon Queen anymore, by now Yakov should be used to her attitude. She turned her head to look at the cloud of dust that was left behind by the carriages and causally muttered, " I think there is going to be a certain change in the monarchy of the Navia empire, it’s better to get less involved in it lest you want to head to another war."

They already had enough of their mess to settle who will bother with the Navia Empire? She didn’t want to head to battle with a sword in her hands either.

" If that’s what you think, your majesty," said Yakov with a calm expression as he followed after her before taking a document from Aileen as he handed it to her. " Charging into a battle with the Navia empire wouldn’t be much difficult anyway, we just need to set traps to catch squirrels all over the battlefield."

"Squirrels? You mean to say that they shift into those cute little things that are furry and soft to touch?" Bree didn’t realise that she misspoke until Yakov’s face turned green as he smiled and tilted his head with a soft, " Hmm, what did you say your majesty?"

"It’s nothing," unfurling the scroll that Yakov gave her, Bree took a look at the things that were written in it, the more she read the more confused she became, turning her head to look at Yakov she asked, " What’s this?"

"It’s a detailed document of the corruption by Duke Balzac your majesty," answered Yakov as he carefully pointed to the points that he has written down in the scroll. " From the start of the imperial year 335 to the current year, I have kept a record of his activities and as you can see in point number fifty-seven, Duke Balzac is the paternal uncle of Duke Cilantro, their relationship has been slowly buried by the connections of Duke Balzac in the department of personal records. Phoenix shifters hide in the wilderness to protect themselves but sometimes people like Duke Balzac can get their hands on those shifters."

Yakov’s eyes dimmed slightly as he pointed at the last point written on the parchment and added, " In the past, Duke Balzac tamed the phoenix shifters and delivered their blood to the late emperor in exchange for monetary benefits but that stopped after you took over the throne and abolished his title along with the special privilege that he had but currently even after living a lavish lifestyle and squandering his money for ages, Duke Balzac is still as notoriously rich as he was years ago at the time of your father’s reign, your majesty."

Retracting his fingers from the parchment, Yakov turned to look at Bree with a solemn glint in his eyes. " I fear that instead of abolishing his illegal activities, he has simply changed the place where they took place. After all Duke Cilantro took a huge sum of donations in the name of orphans from your majesty and the money required to raise the phoenix’s offspring is indeed a bit too much, since they can survive on the purest of the mana stones."
