Chapter 164: Navia Empire

Yakov had to gulp down the two bowls of salted hard meat soup without saying another word, after all his abilities as her husband was actually being questioned.

" You did a great job!" Bree clapped her hands as she watched Yakov finish the two bowls of stew and smilingly praised him. " I thought that you will vomit it all out but surprisingly you drank everything!"

" Were you hoping to see me make a joke out of myself, your majesty?" asked Yakov as he breathed harshly, God that soup was no joke, just how many things did those knights throw in it? He swore he chewed down at least a couple of fish bones while drinking it. No wonder the soup smelled so fishy.

" Of course not, I was just——" Bree didn’t get to finish what she was saying when she heard the abrupt sound of a carriage stopping out of nowhere right in the middle of their camp. At once everyone dropped their smiles and reached for their swords even Yakov stood up from his seat with his claws unsheathed and aimed at the carriage that just stopped in the middle of the camp.

Bree stood up from her chair and came to stand beside Yakov, she didn’t know why the carriage suddenly stopped in their camp but she could see that the carriage didn’t seem to belong to an unidentified person, a blinding golden acorn was drawn at the door of the white carriage, with delicate carvings adorning the carriage. A bright red flag fluttered at top of the carriage, and the curtains of the carriage were drawn making it impossible to see who was sitting inside but no matter who it was, Bree knew that the identity of the person wasn’t simple.

" That flag——"

" It belongs to the Navia Empire," answered Yakov, his eyes darting around at full alert as he took in the procession of the knights and the priests following the carriage. Even though the stance of the knights wasn’t threatening he wasn’t willing to drop his guard, turning his head to Darren he tipped his chin towards the carriage that stopped inside their camp all of a sudden.

Darren bowed acknowledging Yakov’s order and walked to the carriage before raising his voice and shouting at the top of his lungs. " Who is inside the carriage? Show yourself! Are you trying to slight the Dragon Queen by showing your unwarranted arrogance?"

" My Oh My," a chuckling voice came from inside the carriage as the door of the carriage was pushed open. Seconds trickled by as the woman sitting inside the carriage along with the man next to her stepped out.

Dressed in a beautiful green gown which was puffier than anything that Bree had ever worn, the woman stepped off the small foot stool that the carriage driver has placed in front of her. Her golden hair shimmered under the hue of the evening sun while her grey eyes flickered around the camp as if she was looking for something.

Bree watched the woman’s actions and scrunched up her brows. Who was this nasty-looking woman now? And why was she looking around the camp as if she was searching for somebody?

" Forgive me for my imprudence, your majesty," the woman strolled towards Bree with a leisurely pace as she bowed respectfully in front of Yakov and Bree. " I didn’t know that your procession was resting here if so I would have never asked my driver to stop the carriage here."

’Bullshit.’ Thought Bree inwardly, she saw the woman’s eyes darting around the camp just now, who was she trying to full by saying such things?

" And who are you to cause disruption in my camp?" asked Bree, now that she had to play the role of the evil empress in front of strangers than she has to give it her all and maybe she disliked the muddy gaze of the woman in front of her so much that she wanted nothing more than her to leave.

The woman pressed the tip of her fingers on her mouth as she chuckled softly, " I am the third princess of Navia Empress, Melody Navia, it’s an honour to see you, your majesty."

Bree frowned —— Navia Empire? She has never heard about it. Furtively turning her head, she looked at Yakov who understood her actions and took the matter into his hands as he took a step forward and stood in front of Bree. " Why is the princess of the Navia Empire roaming around the territory of the Dragoniere empire?"

"It is not what you think, your highness," said Melody as she swiftly glanced at Bree before turning to look at Yakov, even though it was just a small glance Bree could see the contempt in the eyes of the latter.

Why? Was she looking down at her because she was dressed in Yakov’s clothes instead of a bling bling dress like her? Narcissistic enough? She too could see the flat nose and chipped teeth along with the small oil mark at the seams of the dress, did she say anything to this haughty princess? On who exactly was she looking down?

" We were on the way to the Dragoniere Empire regarding some official matter," the man behind Melody took a step closer to Yakov and bowed slightly before further continuing, " Its the crown prince he has been missing for quite some time and we haven’t seen or heard anything from him for weeks. We are worried that something might happen to him that’s why we are looking for him in another Empire."

After he was finished speaking, he motioned a knight to bring out the portrait that he was holding on to and showed it to Yakov and Bree. " We just wanted to ask if her majesty could allow us to paste these portraits in the Empire? We think that someone might bring us news regarding our crown prince if they see him."

Bree peered down at the portrait, on the yellowish, brown paper a young man with loads of pimples, sleazy eyes and an evil grin was looking drawn. She frowned and looked up at princess Melody before pursing her lips as she asked, " What’s the name of the Crown prince?"
