The Dragon Queen and her mates. -
Chapter 154: Too rough
Chapter 154: Too rough
" Do we really have to consider so many things?" asked Yakov, they were shifters and even mates, seeing each other clothes was something that everyone was used to ever since they were young kids. " We are mates, aren’t we? I have seen you many times before without clothes and so have you."
Bree was still a bit upset at him for striding inside the tent without giving her a heads up, so she blurted out what was going on in her head without thinking, " But I am not your mate!" It was only when the temperature in the entire tent went down all of a sudden that she realised that she said something wrong. She inhaled a sharp breath and took a glance at Yakov and sure enough, the latter was looking at her with such a dark gaze that Bree instinctively raised her hands and touched her neck. It was all right, she was still alive, everything was okay! She swallowed the heavy lump forming in her chest and hurriedly said, " I meant to say that, we haven’t mated yet... at most, you have marked me but other than that it can’t be said that we have mated."
For them to become mates in the true sense, Yakov has to claim her both body and soul. This was something that the previous Bree has always avoided given that she had to submit in front of her mates if she wanted to be claimed by them and this was the reason that they have never completed the mating bond till now. Bree of course had no qualms with this decision of the dragon queen according to her if the Dragon Queen was claimed by her mates then surely she would have been caught by these psychopathic men on the first day of her transmigration to this world, in her view, it was a good thing that they weren’t mated in the true sense.
" Heh," Something about this ’Heh’ of Yakov stuck ominous to Bree and sure enough, a second later she watched the man take his glasses off and stride towards her with a smile that was more like a sinister grin. " Would you like to have another chance to change your words, your majesty?"
" Why?" Though Bree was a bit sceptical about what Yakov was going to do, she still didn’t want to back down, so with a backbone that she didn’t know existed, she immediately looked at Yakov and calmly said, " What I said was the truth wasn’t it? We aren’t fully mated yet and in fact, with our relationship, we can’t even be considered real husband and wife, at most we are two strangers who were put together for the sake of the Empire with countless duties over our heads."
That was when something inside Yakov’s rationality snapped, he took three furious steps toward Bree causing her to fall back on the bed with a stunned look on her face. " First consort——" she hardly began saying anything but before she could say anything, Yakov swooped down and caged her between his arms, Bree instantly withdrew back as she looked at the man in front of her with suspicion. " What are you doing?"
" What do you think, your majesty?" Yakov’s smile was gone and was now replaced with a calm and stoic face as if he was trying his best to calm himself down as he looked at Bree and said, " You don’t have to say things as such you are not my mate or that our relationship doesn’t have any decent ground to it."
" Isn’t it the truth——"
"It’s the truth," agreed Yakov as he leaned closer until he was breathing in Bree’s personal space and murmured softly, " But who says that I have to like hearing the truth?" He raised his hand and Bree flinched, clearly afraid that she might have offended this great Buddha but Yakov simply tucked the strand of hair that was sticking to her face behind her ear and added, " I really, really hate listening to this truth, so your majesty would you mind refraining yourself from speaking about such things until I make this truth nothing but a stupid taradiddle?"
" What do you mean——" Bree wanted to ask what Yakov meant but the latter simply pulled away and then hitched his glasses up the bridge of his nose, his expression returning to the perfect calm with a serene smile as he turned to look at the rough looking cotton shirt and beige pants that were sitting on the bed next to Bree, his brows creased delicately as he looked at Bree and asked," Whose clothes are these, your majesty?"
As far as he knew, Bree’s clothes were lost because of the mountain golem that thrashed their carriages, and Aileen couldn’t bring a lot of things back given that the elders were eyeing them a bit more closely if they found out that something like this has happened they will surely create trouble for them by coming here. So, Aileen didn’t go to the Empress palace or let anyone know about the accident, given that a small town was only a couple of hours away, they didn’t need to worry about something like having clothes and till then Yakov was very much looking forward to seeing Bree wear his clothes but surprisingly, the clothes that she brought out to wear wasn’t his?
" I borrowed these from Sir Darren, he is the only one who had an extra pair of clothes to spare and the omega maids are much too small compared to me, that’s why...hey what are you doing?" Bree didn’t even get to finish her sentence when she saw Yakov pick up the clothes that she was planning to wear, unsheathed his claws and then before she could stop him, he reduced the clothes to nothing but countless pieces of cloth...now forget about wearing the shirt, it wasn’t even big enough to be used as a handkerchief.
Completely bewildered and shocked, Bree looked at Yakov and asked, " What’s the meaning of this?"
"The clothes were too rough for you, your majesty."
