The Dragon Queen and her mates.
Chapter 135: Beast ball

Chapter 135: Beast ball

Blaise and the others saw Bree getting in the carriage followed by Yakov, the latter didn’t say anything else to them leaving the three as stupefied as they have never been before, silently they watched the carriage leave the palace grounds only after the carriages left the grounds did Blaise turned to look at Ahmar and quietly said, " I don’t want to say this but don’t you think that the Queen just now treated us like one will treat their children? Asking us not to cause trouble and whatnot, don’t you think that it was a bit weird of a request?"

Ahmar didn’t say anything, he knew what Bree said to them was nowhere close to what a lover and mate would say to their mates but what could he do about it? It wasn’t as if he was going to drag her back and ask her to redo the entire thing.

" I have some work in the army grounds, I will be leaving," said Ahmar ignoring what Blaise said as he strode away, his black robe flickering in the air behind him, his aide bowed to him and then followed after him to the north where the army grounds were, neither of them stopped to look back at either Blaise or Cian.

" Humph, look at that, acting as if I was asking him to stay behind," Blaise flicked his silver hair and then turned to look at Cian with a calculative glint in his eyes. " Though I can understand why the queen asked us to stay out of trouble, given our history that’s something completely understandable but what I can’t understand is why the Queen dragged that maid with her. As far as I know, that maid and the Queen are like oil and water, neither of them can get along with each other but this time, the Queen actually ordered the maid to be brought along. Don’t you think that something prodded her into taking action?" He stepped closer to Cian before lowering his voice and slyly smirked, " Or maybe it’s a certain someone?"

Cian glanced at him, his expression was carefully blank. He didn’t say anything instead he turned his head and walked away without looking back, Jesse hurried over to his master and then rushed after him—— once everyone was gone, Bracken walked towards Blaise with his eyes closed and asked, " Didn’t the Queen ask you not to find trouble with them why is it that you are already asking for trouble by teasing them, master?"

" Eh? When did I ask for trouble?" said Blaise as he raised his brows in surprise. " I just asked a few questions that I was curious about, it’s not like I enchanted a few horses and let them loose after those two. Your definition and my definition of getting in trouble are certainly different Bracken."

Bracken didn’t say anything, he knew his master too well —— there was no such thing as him being curious because this master of his found out things about the consorts before the Queen could.

Blaise looked at Cian who was walking away with a steady pace and body as taut and stiff as a notched bow and smiled. " That man didn’t I say that he will one day mess up on his own? Guess he did mess up a lot."

Giving the seashell to the Queen for a safe journey? When has that man ever been so considerate toward the Queen? If anything he was plain guilty and was trying to make up to the Queen.

" Don’t be so confident master," said Bracken with a calm voice. " The Queen took that maid with her, it doesn’t necessarily mean that she did it because of fourth consort Cian, if anything I think there is something that neither you nor I know about because the Queen doesn’t look like she cares about fourth consort that much."

" I know," said Blaise with a smirk. " But this trouble started with Cian, so I can make use of it as much as I want can’t I?"

" How many days will it take for us to reach the Cilantro’s territory," asked Bree while looking out of the window, she didn’t want to feel uncomfortable with Yakov sitting in the same carriage as her but she didn’t have any other choice before she could say a word of refusal the man came and sat in the seat opposite to hers, there wasn’t much time left for the departure so she had no choice but to stay put. As the wise men said—— there was no need to hang one’s dirty laundry in public. There was no need for her to make a fuss in front of others and let them know what kind of relationship she had with her consorts.

But sitting in the same carriage and riding in silence was simply too hard, in the end, she decided that she will start with small chats, after all, there was no reason for her to avoid small conversations right?

"It will take at most five days," replied Yakov instantly as he looked up from his book and looked at Bree. " Three days until we reach the teleportation gates and then another two days to cross the boundary of the Cilantro’s territory, it’s situated at the very end of the Empire so we have no other choice but to be patient."

Bree nodded, she didn’t say anything further but after sitting in silence for a few minutes she shifted uncomfortably and turned to look at Yakov only to find that the latter was already looking at her. She swallowed and said, " What’s the matter?"

" You seem uncomfortable, your majesty, does my presence makes you feel slightly discomforted?" asked Yakov causing Bree to almost choke on the breath that she just took, this man was indeed the same as he was described in the book, straight-laced, a stickler for rules and discipline and straight to point, he didn’t even look like he was slightly embarrassed asking such a question.

" No, you don’t ...it’s been a long time I have rode in the carriage for such long hours, I just feel a bit annoyed nothing else," she calmly responded, though she was hyper-aware of Yakov, his beast and his scent there was no need for her to say anything to him about what was going on in her head right?

Yakov stared at her expressionlessly causing Bree to almost shiver until her eyes fell on the book that he was reading and she asked, " What book are you reading?"

"It is about the continent where the Empire was first found," said Yakov, though the Dragniere Empire has grown a lot in the past years and the capital has been moved from the one where the throne was at the time of the previous Empire but Yakov still liked reading about the previous reigns and their Emperors. This time he casually picked the book that depicted the reign of Bree’s father and started reading it, with the size of the small book it was very easy to understand just how many achievements the previous Emperor had and what was more Yakov was fairly certain that even half of these written achievements were fake.

" Oh," Bree nodded her head before turning her head away to the window again, seeing her reaction Yakov’s eyes flashed with suspicion.

Bree hated the throne and the capital where she was almost discarded as the heir of the Dragniere Empire, she wanted a change and that was why she set the previous capital on fire and then asked magicians to recreate the same capital in the new territory that she marked, the woman who hated her father to the point that she would rather destroy the throne he sat on including the entire capital that he reigned on actually replied him with an ’oh’? How was that possible?

" Are you sure that this will clear the route for me to become the Queen?" asked Harley quietly as she travelled in the carriage that was allocated to the maids alone, she took a glance at the maids who fall asleep thanks to the system’s sleeping waves and then turned her attention to the small ball of stone that she was carrying in her hands. This small stone ball was her key to the throne, clutching it tightly Harley asked the system once again to make sure that everything will go smoothly.

" It will, the reason the routes are all blocked up one by one is that she is still alive when she should be dead," replied the system in a mechanically cold voice. " If the Queen is dead then all the routes will be opened one by one ...and you will be able to become the Queen instead. Wouldn’t it be easy to win the hearts of those males once there is no Dragon Queen?"

That was right, if she was to take care of the Dragon Queen, then she will get what she wanted and ever since she was a child other than having good health she got everything that she has wanted..there was no way she was going to give up on the four men either!

Clutching the stone ball in her hands, she looked at the five maids stuffed in a small carriage and hurriedly shifted.
