Chapter 123: What did you do?

"Stop!" Just as Aileen lunged at Jesse, a voice echoed in a clearing, causing the two of them to stop at once. Yakov turned to look at the top of the stairs and saw Cian. Dressed in a loose-fitting white robe with his long hair left loose, he was a sight prettier than any woman but Yakov only felt disgruntled upon seeing him, he has been keeping an eye on this manner hoping that he wouldn’t make trouble yet here he was making a mess without even batting an eye.

And that too when Yakov thought that this man has learned his lesson.

Sensing Yakov’s gaze, Cian turned his head to look in his direction, causing the latter to raise a brow. Sparks flew lightly as soon as they looked at each other before Cian smiled delicately and said, " Since the first consort is already here, then there is no need for you to trouble yourself, Jesse. Sending the first consort back to his palace would be certainly wrong of us."

Yakov smiled condescendingly. "As you can even send us back," his eyes flashed wolf before he curled his upper lip, showing off a fang. " I would love to see you try though."

Cian’s gaze skimmed at Yakov before he snorted and turned around to walk inside. " If you are here for a battle then I would recommend you get a permit from the Queen and if you are here to talk then come and see me inside the palace."

Watching his vanishing back, Yakov sneered before he started climbing the stairs after him.

Once the masters were gone, Jesse and Aileen too put away their weapons before Jesse looked at Aileen and light-heartedly complained, "I thought were friends, Sir Aileen. How many times have I gone drinking with you."

" We are friends indeed but as far as our lords are concerned, we have to pull swords at each other throats," said Aileen closing his eyes at once.

" You wouldn’t have to do that if you just sent a word earlier," said Jesse with an annoyed expression on his face.

" I—-"

" Sir Jesse," before Aileen could say anything a palace boy came running bringing a small envelope with him. He handed it to Jesse and smiled, " I received this from the first consort, he says that he will be coming to see the fourth consort."

Jesse: "...."

Aileen: "...."

However, Aileen still gave Jesse a ’ you see that’ expression causing the latter’s face to turn constipated.

Looking down at the envelope, he looked at the man who was still smiling and asked, " When did you get this envelope?"

" Just three minutes ago, why?" asked the man before turning to look at Aileen and jumped slightly. " Sir Aileen, you are already here? Didn’t you just hand me this envelope?"

Crumpling the letter in his hands, Jesse turned to look at Aileen with a blaming expression. " So, this is what you call sending word?"

" We were in a hurry." That was all Aileen said, when he saw that Jesse was still looking at him with an annoyed expression, he rubbed his nose and then lightly ruffled the latter’s hair. " I will try to stop my master next time."

" You better." Slightly mollified Jesse didn’t fight anymore with Aileen.

" There better be a good reason to explain why you are raiding my palace in the middle of the night," said Cian as he strode inside his room, now that the moon was shining brightly the floor was magically infused with a spell to make the marble floor look like water, glimmered and reflected, lighting up the entire room with a bluish hue. " Because I do not like being disturbed."

" And I do not like it when you create trouble for me," said Yakov before taking a seat opposite Cian. " But here we are."

Cian frowned lightly, he could more or less understand what Yakov was saying but that wasn’t what was important, what was important was how did he find out. " I didn’t create trouble," picking up the whiskey bottle that was resting on the table, he poured himself a generous amount of alcohol before saying, " If anything it’s your trouble that has been causing a ruckus for me."

" Excuse me?"

" No, excuse me," Cian took a big gulp of his whiskey before snapping back at Yakov. " You were the one who came up with the stupid plan of using that maid..what is her name, Ha...Harley, yes, Harley. She has been causing trouble for us since day one and yet I am to blame, I didn’t ask her to follow me, damn it."

Yakov’s frown deepened as he questioned, " Harley followed you?"

" Oh yes, she did," leaning back on his chair, he crossed his arms in front. " She followed me to my guild and then caused a huge mess in front of the guild, if not for her being in danger of losing her life. I would have left her alone," he didn’t dare to tell Yakov about the voice that was ringing in his head when Harley was in danger, telling Yakov about that voice was like handing his own weakness to his enemy with his own hands. " She took advantage of the situation and created trouble between the Queen and me, this entire thing wasn’t my mess but yours, you were the one who found that clingy girl who just don’t want to let go."

Taking another gulp of the whiskey in his glass, Cian snorted. " You were the one who brought her into the equation but she is like a devil, you can only invite her in but can’t send her out, you should look at her the way she looks at me is no longer as it was before, she stares at me like ....like..." he paused gulping the alcohol. " Like I am her possession."

Yakov’s brows furrowed even more as he said, " And the Queen saw the two of you?"

" She did," said Cian throwing his head back on the headrest of the chair. " And she was furious upon seeing us together."

" What did you do?" asked Yakov, his eyes narrowed. " The Queen wouldn’t have been this furious for no reason."
