The voice in his head vanished in a whirl of smoke and Cian snapped his head up, in front of him and Harley stood Bree her gaze fixated on his hand that was still clutching Harley’s chin. Feeling like he has been electrocuted, he let go of Harley and took several steps behind, he wanted to explain, to say something anything that will explain what he was trying to do but at the moment nothing came to his head, all he could do was to flail his hands and say, " Your majesty...this..I...." The more he tried to explain the more mistakes he made in the end it was Bree who broke the stalemate.

" So, this is what you meant by having fun at the downtown, fourth consort?" Cian noticed her alienation, noticed how she was calling him the fourth consort instead of his name and almost broke down then and there, why was this happening to him? What did he do wrong?

" No, your majesty, I didn’t ...I didn’t mean to ..." Cian took a step closer to Bree but just as he was walking towards her, someone clutched his arm, stopping him from getting closer to Bree. He peered down at Harley, her eyes were shining with pearl-like tears and her face was nothing but pitiful, with a soft groan she whined, "It’s hurt, Cian ...please help me."

Bree didn’t know whether it was Harley clutching onto Cian or her calling his name but suddenly she felt like an idiot, she already knew that she wasn’t the leading lady and the only reason she was thrown into this world was because of some crazy fiasco among the Gods nothing else. Maybe her life wasn’t much of a comedy enough to make the Gods laugh so they threw her into this mess ... and she was a fool acting according to the bidding of the Gods.

Why did she even follow Cian here when she knew that Harley was chasing after him? And why was her heart churning like that? She had no answers to her questions all she knew was that right now she was finding both Harley and Cian an eyesore. " Let’s go, Dion." Anyway, she wasn’t here for the two of them, she was here to check whether her aide was done with the work she has given him without a hitch or not, other than that, she didn’t come here for anything else.

" Yes, your majesty," clothed and completely back to his impeccable and neat image, Dion bowed to Bree before shooting a sharp look at Harley. He has seen the maid trying to get closer to the consorts a lot of times before but he didn’t expect that she would be this smart —— he saw the Queen approaching a long time ago surely that girl saw her approaching as well but instead of backing off, she started to cling onto fourth consort, even more, something about her was severely wrong.

Harley caught Dion’s sharp gaze that was directed at her and immediately hid behind Cian —— inwardly she cursed that stupid aide was being smarter than she thought he was, just look at the gaze with which he was looking at her, clearly, he noticed something off but never mind she at least got Cian to stay by her side...when compared to that, being doubted wasn’t anything major.

She peeked out from Cian’s behind and looked at Bree, sensing a gaze targeted at her Bree turned to look at the source and wasn’t surprised when Harley shot her a proactive look.

Bree raised her brow and flipped a bird at Harley before walking away with Dion.

" My Queen!" Cian saw that Bree was really walking away from him and a sense of panic gripped him—— he was afraid that if he let Bree go today then he would be losing more than something important to him. He hurriedly shook off Harley’s grip on his arm and ran after Bree.

Harley didn’t even get a chance to steady herself before she stumbled on the street with a stunned look on her face. " Cian ....? Where are you going? Cian! I am still hurt!"

But Cian didn’t stop, didn’t turn around and sure as hell didn’t look behind him as he rushed after Bree, a panicked expression on his face.

Watching him go, Harley was stumped before she shouted inside her head, ’ System! System do something! Stop him!’

She came so far, got hurt and almost got killed all because she wanted to be kissed by Cian and have a happy start to a love affair with him, what will she do if he was to leave like that?

’ System!’

’ Activating charming allure, *beep* confirm activation.’

Harley immediately chose to activate it, there was no way she was going to let Cian run away by leaving her behind like this!

’ Activation completed!’

As soon as the system finished the activation, a tempting scent started to waft off Harley’s body causing all the males in the vicinity to pause and look at her, with her small stature, eyes that were a sad shade of grey glittering with tears, she was cutting a sorry sight making the heart of all the males around her to go sigh in sympathy.

But Harley’s attention wasn’t on them, she stared at Cian’s back and called out again, " Master Cian! You can’t leave me here! I am hurt!"

Like a Siren, her bewitching voice trailed off to Cian and soon the jeering voice returned as if he was being followed by an invisible force. " Are you going to leave your destined one for her? She isn’t even the woman you love? Why not stop and go back to where you belong?"

Cian’s steps faltered and he looked over his shoulders, when Harley saw that he stopped upon hearing her call, her face lit up but soon she saw something even more shocking.

Cian who should have rushed towards her like a knight in shining armour turned his face around and ran after the Dragon Queen, that too without looking back even once!
