Chapter 377: I Dare You
Chapter 377: I Dare You
"Are you alright? You look pale." Aldric suddenly blurted out.
"I’m..fine." She assured him with a stiff tone. Her lips twitched as she looked away, directing her eyes to the clothes.
It was silent for a moment as she pretended to go through the clothes, but she could feel his unwavering eyes firmly on her, it bored through the back of her skull.
The tension between them lingered near, even as they tried to hide the whirlwind of temptation pulling them closer with each heartbeat and oddly, even without saying or doing anything, it felt even more difficult to concentrate.
It was simply impossible to blur out his presence from her mind, he was a man whose presence couldn’t fade away from one’s memory no matter how hard one tried.
Unable to maintain an oblivious facade any longer, she turned around to catch him staring as she had thought.
"You know, I can feel your eyes boring through my skull, it’s slightly uncomfortable." She spewed out, but even as she brought her unease to his knowledge, his icy blue eyes still remained on her, boring through her stormy gray ones.
"Since when did a husband staring at his wife become uncomfortable?" He teased with a small smirk hanging on his lips.
Her brows furrowed and for a moment, there was no reaction elicited from her. She was taken aback and at the same time, slightly amused by the playful side of him she had newly encountered.
"How can you be so unbothered and cheesy despite our current situation?" She blurted out.
"The real danger starts when we’re about to cross the barrier, but for now, we can let our guard down." Aldric implied and he flashed her a charming grin, one that made a cold sensation skitter down her spine.
"Right." She mumbled in a trance like state, but in the next second, she cleared her throat awkwardly as she tried to regain her composure.
"Let’s change." Aldric suggested and she swallowed softly as she nodded reluctantly.
Without wasting a second, Aldric picked simple clothes from the rack and moved a far distance away from her. He stood with his back facing her at the far end of the small room and proceeded to start changing.
She merely just stood there in position as she watched him start peeling the clothes from his upper body.
It was wrong to stare at a man undressing. Her moral impulse told her to look away, but she couldn’t.
Rather, she found herself getting more enticed as he fully unclothed his upper body to reveal his sinewy back covered with built muscles.
She suddenly found herself drooling over his admirable physique. He wasn’t too big or too small. He was perfectly lean and muscular with sculpted muscles.
She suddenly visualized herself running her fingers through the ripples of muscles carved in his back and every time his muscles flexed from his movement, she sighed in adoration.
The boom of his voice suddenly broke her out of her vulgar fantasies as he spoke "If you keep staring, we won’t leave anytime soon."
Her face suddenly turned beet red in mortification at the realization that he was aware of her staring.
Zoya, who was staring, quickly interrupted as she turned her face away, "Uhm, I’ll leave and when you’re done, I-I’ll change." She spluttered nervously as she darted her eyes around in confusion.
"Don’t be prude, I won’t look." Aldric said with a flat tone, his back still turned to her.
"Prude? Certainly not!" She snorted out with a scoff. "I’m only being modest here and it seems I’m the only one who has it." She added in.
"You may be anything but modest, which makes me wonder why you’re avoiding me." Aldric mentioned out, despite the weight of his accusing words, his tone was nonchalant.
She abruptly turned to face him, expecting to see his back turned to her, but only turned to find him facing her. The front view of his upper naked body greeted her sight and the words she had wanted to spill out suddenly clogged in her throat.
She salivated nervously and her lashes fluttered in awkwardness as her inner goddess was wrecked in his beauty. Her lips were parted as she froze, she opened her mouth to say something, but the words fell away.
Rather, her eyes, which she struggled to maintain on his face was suddenly plummeting down to his throat. And lower to his taut chest. And lower to his abdomen with flawless muscles carved into it, built from years of hard work and brute training.
She could feel a sweat break out on her eyebrows, vulgar fantasies crawling into her head the more she stared. She shouldn’t be staring, he was standing right in front of her, looking at her, yet she was still gaping. ’Stop staring!’ Her instincts yelled at her.
Forcing herself to tear her eyes away from this ridiculously gorgeous man, she finally spoke up, but the words came out in a smattering whisper "I-I’m not avoiding you." She had tried to sound more composed, but unfortunately, her voice failed her as well as her mind.
Aldric swallowed "We should change and leave, or else...." He trailed off after his suggestion.
"Or else what?" She spoke up. Her voice sounded clearer. More confident.
They could both feel the rising heat in the small room, the heat emanating from both of their hidden desires, one that was rapidly crawling out of its long time confinement and it felt right to release it, to feel the splendid sensation.
"Dress up let’s leave." He simply said as he ignored her question, before turning his back on her.
The room was silent for a moment when she abruptly broke it with a question that rang clearly in the air "Do you want to make love to me, Aldric?"
As soon as the words crawled out of her mouth, Aldric’s body tensed and she saw his muscles ripple slightly beneath his thick skin.
Slowly, he turned around to meet her, his blue eyes infused with unspoken desires met hers with a tinge of surprise masking his neutral countenance as he whispered her name "Zoya.."
But then, she interrupted "What? Am I wrong?" She shot at him with a sharp tone.
Silence, once again sated the air as her smoky gray eyes pierced into his blue ones. She was direct and shameless, but she didn’t care. Why beat around the bush and shove aside their true feelings? After all, they might not survive, she thought inwardly.
"Be careful what you wish for, Zoya. If we were to make love right now, everyone around this vicinity would hear your screams, so please dress up, let’s leave already." Aldric stated out, his words laced with unwavered conviction and certainty.
She was tempting, especially with her shameless candor at him and it took all of his willpower to resist. He wasn’t a barbarian to the extent he would take her right there in a dress shop, rather than treat her like she was an object of pleasure, he would treat her like the beloved of his heart that she was.
His jaws clenched as he looked away, but his eyes were rather unyielding to do as he wished.
"Resisting makes it even harder, besides you would regret it if we didn’t do it until it’s too late, you never know if we could get caught before escaping." Zoya reasoned out.
Aldric sighed softly as he looked away from her, his lips pressed in a straight line. He couldn’t argue with her, she was too explicit and straight forward, he couldn’t win against her candid mouth.
Rather, he simply turned around to proceed changing but he halted and suddenly turned to face her again, only to find her staring.
"I want to change, please stop staring." Aldric pleaded, but she gave him a mischievous smirk.
Her eyes blazed with a naughty spark as she spoke "I mean, you are my husband. It won’t be the first time I’m seeing you naked, there’s no need to be shy, hm?" She said in a sensual voice.
"Trying to seduce me in a dress shop isn’t very ladylike and it certainly won’t work." Aldric said with a confident tone, but the clenching of his jaws and unease body movements said otherwise.
"Dare me." Zoya shot at him, a small smirk playing at the edge of her lips.
Aldric swallowed as he pushed his hair backwards, burying his fingers into his hair in exasperation. What kind of woman had the universe given to him? He thought inwardly.
Straightforward, moody and defiant. Those were only a few words to describe her, but she was definitely one hell of a woman.
"Daring you would only push you to act exactly as you wish, so no, I won’t dare you. If you want to stare, go ahead but as soon as I dress up, I’m leaving you behind." Aldric stated sternly as he tried to compose himself and act serious.
"I dare you." Zoya said with a sharp voice.
