Chapter 347: Remember Me
Chapter 347: Remember Me
"Rama." He called as he approached her, his voice as calm as a still water, his eyes tender yet intensely fixated on her.
Her jade eyes narrowed as she watched him keenly while he slowly approached her, she couldn’t shake off the sense of ease in his presence but neither could she ignore his menacing aura hovering around him like a second form of darkness.
As he approached her, she extended her weapon toward him, clutching her fists tightly around the hairpin as she yelled "Stay back!" Her voice cracked with fear, confusion, and the longing to retrieve what was lost in her. Her memories.
Seeing her in a state of panic, he halted in his steps, standing straight while sighing out heavily. His jaws ticked, making them sharper than the blades of a dagger, his ember eyes portraying his inner turmoil, anger, and unease.
She could see him struggling with it, in his uneasy body movements, his fists clenching and unclenching, his lips twitching and the heavy rise and fall of his chest.
Maintaining her stance, her arms never wavered as she aimed her fragile weapon at him, but she was well aware that her useless weapon was not the reason he stayed back, he merely did not want to frighten her even more and the realization almost made her put her guard down, but she couldn’t risk it.
"Who. Are. You?" She emphasized, her eyes firm and hard as she tried to hide the subtle fear fleeting across them, but he could see through her soul like a looking glass, there wasn’t any use in hiding it.
"As I’ve said before, I’m Draco, your mate." He said and immediately he spoke, he could sense her vulnerability expand.
"But I don’t remember you, I don’t remember anything at all. What happened to my memories? How can I trust you that you had nothing to do with what happened to me? How do I know you’re not lying or using my confusion to your advantage to spew whatever lies you want to me?" Rama threw at him, her stance correcting as she decided to ignore whatever strange feeling was pulling her to him.
Her survival depended on her wits and instincts and they told her he was danger, danger wrapped up in six feet of enticing beauty that could tempt and as well make one vulnerable.
"I know you have a lot of questions but..."
"I have a million questions." She abruptly interrupted him.
"I just need you to listen to me, Rama." He said softly, like a whisper, persuasive and candid but the sinister air around him, made her want to use her wits instead.
"Rama. Is that my name?" She asked in a low voice as she swallowed.
"Yes."
"And who are you to me? My mate? What is that even supposed to mean?" She queried, her brows furrowing in impatience.
"We’re married, Rama and we’re mates, bound by the universe, a bond that can never be broken." He said in a calm tone as he slowly put one foot after the other.
But within three steps, she sliced her frail weapon through thin air as she moved back "Stay back! Don’t move closer. I have no idea what you’re talking about or who you are, you can’t just start spouting nonsense to me. I need to know who I am and where I am, I just need to know the truth." She said erratically, her voice cracking under the pressure of confusion and the strange tingling sensation at the back of her head, telling her to run into his arms and feel safe, but she stood her ground, shoving aside the weird sensation.
"Please, trust me and I promise, I’ll make sure you retrieve your memories and put all this nightmare behind." The peculiar man spoke, his voice deep and insightful with a knowledge she had no idea of.
Perhaps, maybe she could trust him? She pondered deeply as she peered her eyes into his.
"And why should I trust you? I don’t even know what you are and certainly, you could not be human." She pointed out, her eyes turning prudent and wary as she screened him from head to toe, silently indicating on his peculiar form.
"Yes, I’m not human, I’m a Vampire, but trust me and I’ll make sure you regain your memories no matter what it takes." He said confidently, while maintaining their distance.
"Hmm." Squinting her eyes at him, she slowly put away her weapon. "I trust you, I think." She murmured under her breath as she sighed heavily.
"You changed your mind quite quickly." He said in uncertainty as he narrowed his eyes at her.
"If you wanted to hurt me, I doubt this measly weapon would have withheld you from attacking me. I can feel your darkness, it’s suffocating and powerful." She pointed out as she twirled the hairpin between her fingers.
"Then why make me go through all those troubles of making me explain when you already trust me?" He asked sarcastically.
"I just...needed to make sure it wasn’t some sort of trap, your eyes said it all and I quite believe you." She remarked.
"Well, if you trust me, then promise me that you’ll stay right here, in this room until I come back?" He said firmly, his eyes turning stern and serious as he spoke, his heavy countenance portraying the solemnity of the situation.

Despite losing the memories of their past together, she felt safe in his presence and she didn’t want him to leave her alone. She was the only one she trusted in her obscurity.
"What? Where are you going? Let me come with you." She said hysterical, closing the distance between them despite being aware of him being an imminent danger, but she knew he would never hurt her and at that moment she realized her fear was not for him, but it was being away from him, alone.
"I’m going to see someone that could help retrieve your memories. It’s dangerous so it’s best to stay here. I promise I’ll be back as soon as possible." He said as he gently squeezed her hand clutching onto his arm.
"I don’t want to stay here alone, please let me go with you." She pleaded as she squeezed his arm tighter.
"It’s dangerous, promise me you’ll stay here in this chamber until I return. You won’t step a foot out Rama, it’s not safe, just wait for me." Draco said softly.
"Fine." She muttered under her breath, her shoulders drooping low.
Cupping her cheeks in his hand, he planted a brisk but passionate kiss on her lips and as he pulled away, she could still feel his taste lingering on her lips.
Despite not remembering the peculiar and enigmatic man said to be her soul bound mate, she didn’t refrain from the kids and rather succumbed to it and as he pulled away, she groaned in displeasure.
"I have to leave now, stay here." He said sternly and she nodded.
She stood still as she watched him turn his back to leave, exiting the room, leaving her in the desolate chamber as anxiety tugged her heart at his mission to help her regain her memories.
With each passing moment, Rama’s apprehension grew, her mind plagued by thoughts of Draco, her mate, who had ventured forth into the unknown in search of a being rumored to possess the power to unlock her lost memories. Though she trusted him implicitly, the weight of his absence bore down on her, a heavy burden that threatened to crush her spirit.
Seated upon a plush velvet chaise lounge, Rama traced the intricate patterns of the fabric with her fingertips, her thoughts wandering to distant memories that eluded her grasp. The scent of lavender lingered in the air, mingling with the faint aroma of wood smoke, a comforting reminder of simpler times.
Outside the chamber window, the moon hung low in the sky, its pale light casting long shadows that danced across the stone floor. The night was alive with the sounds of the castle coming to life, the distant clang of armor and the muffled voices of guards echoing through the corridors.
But within the confines of her chambers, Rama was enveloped in a cloak of silence, broken only by the soft sound of her own breath and the steady rhythm of her heartbeat. Her gaze wandered to the ornate mirror that adorned the wall, her reflection a ghostly visage that seemed to stare back at her with hollow eyes.
With a sigh, Rama rose from her seat, her movements fluid yet purposeful as she paced the length of the chamber, her footsteps echoing in the stillness. Each moment stretched on indefinitely, time slowing to a crawl as she waited anxiously for Draco’s return.
Outside, the world continued to turn, oblivious to her plight. The stars twinkled overhead, a silent witness to the turmoil that raged within her heart. And yet, amidst the darkness, a flicker of hope remained, a glimmer of light that refused to be extinguished.
And as she waited in her chambers, her heart heavy with longing, she clung to that hope like a lifeline, praying for his safe return and the chance to reclaim the memories that lay buried deep within her soul.
