Chapter 225: Trials And Temptations

Chapter 225: Trials And Temptations

"You’re not like me son, you’re a rebirth of me. You are me." Lucifer’s voice rang in a low, guttural vociferation, making the stone pillars rumble.

Draco’s skin sizzled with vaporizing steam, his jaws clenching as he fought to resist the indisputable call of darkness, the alluring hands of melancholy drawing him to his infernal lineage.

Shaking his head, he let out a tempestuous snarl "I am nothing like you!" The place boomed with his thunderous growl reverberating like a sinister echo through the air.

Lucifer scoffed with a skeptical look in his eyes, one that made Draco question himself for a millisecond.

Standing barely an inch away from him, their eyes locked, their burning orbs reflecting into each other’s "You are everything like me! Look me in the eyes and deny it." Lucifer hissed beneath his breath, his voice coated with petrifying melancholy dripping with every word.

Veins burned beneath Draco’s skin, muscles tensed as he fought with his conflicting mind to refute the devil’s claims, but it was a claim that couldn’t be denied, a claim that portrayed his existence and birth.

"I am." The words crawled out of his lips with the symphony of smooth butter and the sharpness of a venomous dagger tearing through his lips.

Lucifer sniffed, a fiendish grin cutting through his face as he planted a hard squeeze on his shoulders "We are one and you are my son."

Draco didn’t reply, his teeth grinding against each other as he averted his gaze from him, but still yet even as much as he wanted, he couldn’t shove his hand resting on his shoulder away.

His cold hands were soothing, almost inviting him to his darkness, it was a call hard to resist, a path winding him to the core of his inner demons, pushing him to to tap into his infernal darkness.

"Let go of the hate you harbor for me son and we could do great things together, rule the entire universe, have unimaginable power. You wouldn’t have to move a finger for your will to be done." His voice rippled with a hypnotizing darkness, one that threatened to pierce through his indestructible essence.

Coming to the underworld to see Lucifer, he was well aware he would have to face trials and temptations from the devil.

It was his abode, the air itself bowed to him and did his bidding, it was an entrapment that could ensnare the most desirous of heart into its dark allure, using their vulnerability against them as he reveals to them a path of roses, but the thorns would be inadvertently concealed from mere sight, luring you into his web of deception.

"Hate? I don’t hate you, I just don’t care, about you or your absurd aim." Draco said, his voice pulsating with a dark torrent of energy as he shoved his hand away from his shoulder.

"I understand that you’re still sulking over the fact that I didn’t come for you until you were older. I didn’t abandon you, I made you powerful, molded you into the powerful being you are." Lucifer snarled, his twisted voice writhing beneath his breath.

Circling around him with the slow, graceful steps of a fallen angel, he continued speaking with a voice that seemed to be stimulated from the abode of darkness itself "You don’t need parental love, you need discipline and domination and that is exactly what I did for you, I let you grow, evolve and unwind your inner essence. You are powerful on your own, you’re not a weak human who needs their parents to guide them, you only have to embrace your true nature and you did exactly just that. Open your eyes son and you’ll see beyond this world, beyond the physical and mortal...."

Without letting him spew out anymore words, Draco interrupted with a loud, exasperated sigh "Is that why you lured me here? To give a boring speech of how powerful I am?"

"I didn’t lure you here son, you came on your own accord." Lucifer pointed out with a straight face, as he veered around with a mechanical precision while he waltzed to his throne seat, his golden burning orbs peering at his son beneath his thick lashes.

"I know what you’re doing to me, you lured me here with your deceitful tricks so you can spew your nonsense and poison my brain with a power hungry feeling." Draco spat out in a guttural tone, his voice making the eerie wind pulsate with a torrent of dark essence emanating from his pores.

"Poison you? Why poison you when we both have the same poisons in our veins? The only difference is that you resist it but I accept it. Only when you accept it, you’ll finally have freedom within yourself, no more fighting your inner demons, no more conflict with your darkness." Lucifer’s voice rang low, like a slithering whisper writhing within the dark air, crawling over him like an invisible dark force, spreading into his mind like an infectious disease.

"Stop!" Draco growled with a thunderous roar that made the underworld tremble, his veins popping in his head as he heaved heavily, smoke practically erupting from his nostrils as his eyes glowed fiercer.

Lucifer pressed his lips in a straight line of silence as he leaned comfortably into his throne, a sigh of irritation leaving his lips as his dark siren eyes squinted at him.

"I don’t need to stop anything son, you need to stop fighting, stop resisting, stop with the conflicts you have with yourself. Stop and choose freedom." Lucifer remarked with a calm coercive tone, the words rolling off his lips like a foggy blend of malignance and sweetness, it threatened the rationality of his senses.

"Enough! I only came here to know what you did to me." Draco stated, teeth gritting hard as he shot lethal glares at the calm demon sitting on his throne.

"I did nothing to you and that’s the truth, but I guess you made up that excuse so you can come pay me a visit." The calm king of hell leaned forward as he spoke, every movement he made oozed with a menacing aura pouring out of every fibre of his skin.

"I didn’t come to pay you a visit, I came to warn you, the next time you pull that trick on me again, I’ll fucking burn hell to the ground, with you in it." Draco threatened, his words reverberating with a low growl.

"Like I said, I didn’t do anything to you...yet. Have you forgotten the promise I made to your wife? I’ll be the one to pay you both a visit, but until then, you both have your freedom, so enjoy it while it lasts, before the devil comes knocking at your door." His voice rang lower, dripping with melancholic essence that seemed to draw and repulse him at the same time.

"You’re the only one powerful enough to weaken me, so if you’re not the one doing it, then who could? Enough with your lies, I can see through them like a fucking transparent glass!" Draco hissed.

"It’s not me, its the shadow bane dagger. Once plunged into your heart, it slowly depletes your energy. It’s like a vortex sucking your essence until your strength is replenished with enough rest." Lucifer suddenly pointed out, leaving Draco in silence to ponder as he observed him prudently, trying to comprehend whether he was spitting out the truth or another falsehood.

"And how do you know that?" Draco queried with narrowed eyes.

"How do I not know that? I’m the Devil, I know everything there is to know and what not, but I could help you replenish your energy." Lucifer implied with a charming grin that never reached his empty eyes, they were as dead as his soul.

"I don’t need your help. Accepting help from you only escalates things, and if I find out that you’re lying to me, I’ll come back, but I won’t be doing any talking." Draco proclaimed and as if the air conceded in his declaration, the air darkened with a sinister aura clouding it.

"Whether you accept my help or not, I’ll be helping you either ways son." Lucifer remarked, making Deaco’s face twist grimly.

Veering around as he proceeded to leave, he heard Lucifer’s voice billow softly through the air as it whisked into his ears "Count your days, I’ll be visiting soon and it would be a nice surprise."

Even after he spoke, he stood still for a short moment, as if processing his dark promises into his head, a promise that would shape his future with Rama, a promise that could bend the designs of fate, a promise that could alter the shape of reality.

Breathing out one last word before disappearing from his sight, he said "And I’ll be waiting." His voice rumbling darkly through the corridors as a torrent of darkness swallowed his form until his presence dissipated into thin air.

As the devil watched his son take his leave, a diabolical energy enveloped him and his eyes darkened with malicious intent.
