Chapter 177: Kidnapped By The Dark Witches

Malika froze when she heard the clanking noise of shoes against the floor just outside the door, she could see the shadow of the figure stretching on the floor, underneath the tiny expanse of the door.

Dragging her bottom over the floor, she shifted quietly to the other side of the bed, goosebumps slowly manifesting on her skin as fear cuddled against her.

The sound stopped and her breath subconsciously hung back in her throat as she slowly lowered her body to the floor, eyes peering underneath the expanse of the bed, towards the foot of the door, but nothing ensued for a moment even though the shadow was still present.

Her chest rose and fell heavily as she took in bated breaths sufficed with suspense and perturbation.

For a moment nothing happened, making it seem as if whatever was behind the door was trying to scare her to death and it was indeed liable as she was scared to death, almost at the breaking point of having a cardiac arrest.

In the next moment, she heard a soft yet bellowing voice ring from behind the door, she swallowed as she silently sobbed.

"Open the door sweet child..." The voice called out, in an eerily persuasive tone, she realized it belonged to a woman, presumably a dark witch, but what she couldn’t understand was why they were specifically after her or perhaps they desired to kill everyone in the castle, but why? She pondered.

Her body jerked as she snapped out of her thoughts, triggered by the ominous ringing of the voice which weirdly felt as if she was whispering right into her ears, she could even almost feel her cold breath on her skin.

As if her survival switch had been activated, she crawled desperately on the floor, rolling her slim body underneath the expanse of the bed to hide herself, the tresses of the velvet curtains served as a shield falling over the bed.

It was pitch dark underneath the bed where she had hidden herself, although she was spooked of the darkness, it performed as a good hideout, at least they wouldn’t be able to catch sight of her easily, but then she wondered how they gained knowledge of her presence in the room, it was unnerving and alarming.

’What if they easily used their magic to find her out?’ her intrusive thoughts kicked in, sending her into a state of inner turmoil because she knew it would be her end if they found her hideout and deep down, her instincts told her they would.

No one would be able to save her, while Zamiel was busy taking care of the rogue witches, she had no idea where Rama was, even though she might undoubtedly come for her, she feared it might be too late.

Her breath hitched when she heard a wave of inexplicable force crashing against the door and in the next moment she saw splinters of wood falling as the door exploded with a resounding thud.

Her head tilted to the door as she peeked from her hiding place, although she could see only their feet, she knew it were the witches. Who else would it be if not them? Her inner goddess hid under the carpet, biting her fingers in fear.

She watched with horror-filled widened eyes as they hauled into her room. Subconsciously she counted the number of witches strutting inside concealed in black thick garbs so she couldn’t see their legs, only long flowing garbs.

They were no less than five that had walked in, but the minimal numbers didn’t lessen her fear any more, she couldn’t outsmart, outrun or overpower just one witch talk less five of them who wielded dark magic at a flick of their fingers.

Trapped in her uncanny predicament, tears threatened to spill from her sensitive eyes but she swallowed it back as she bit her quivering bottom lip.

Her stomach churned when she heard the voice again, but now it was familiar to her ears, the witch’s voice was one to leave a guttural impression, it flowed with an air of authority, a symphony of peril and delicacy.

"Come out child, we won’t hurt you." She drawled, making Malika almost scoff doubtfully.

She wondered why they always used that sarcastic phrase before hurting someone, it made her anxiety escalate and the tension in the room became suffocating or maybe it was the small space she had squeezed her body into.

After a moment of dragged unnerving silence as no reply was stemmed from her, she heard a disgruntled sigh from above as the witch finally concluded "Fine, either way I’ll have what I desire using you."

Unable to comprehend what she meant, she pressed her thoughts on it, although it yielded no convenient meaning. As she remained still, a head suddenly appeared to her sight, malicious green eyes staring straight into her fearful ones, a wicked grin cut through the witch’s pale lips as she snarled venomously "There you are, sweet child."

Unable to stifle it any longer, a shrill scream of terror erupted from Malika’s lips at the witch’s startling appearance, she could hear her heart racing with a pounding thud in her eardrums.

Crawling with her elbows, she struggled to move away from the witch that was grinning maniacally at her, but her limbs appeared too stiff to move her farther away before the witch would get hold of her.

Her eyes dilated in fear when she saw the witch’s hand shoot out, reaching for her. In her state of delirium, she was about to sprout up on her feet and make a run for it, forgetting she was under the bed, which resulted to her head bumping against the wood with unexpected force.

She hissed in pain as she felt slight dizzy from the hit, but amidst the reeling effect of the impact she suffered, she felt cold hands dragging her feet as they pulled her out from her hiding place.

Screaming, she scratched the wooden floor with her fingers in a futile effort to hold onto something, driven by her human instincts to survive.

As she was pulled out from beneath the bed, she suddenly felt a burning tug at her hair in a bid for her to get up on her feet, but rather than being up on her feet, they pushed her down for her to fall on her knees whilst still holding onto her golden locks.

The earlier collisions she suffered in addition to the painful yanking of her hair made her eyes teary as she heaved heavily, huffs of raspy breaths leaving her lips in between terrified screams.

Her body trembled under the reckoning force of their black malicious eyes on her and the anticipation of what they would do to her, as it was obvious they were not simply there to kill her or they would have done it earlier without giving her this much attention and time. Her instincts pointed out that much.

Whoever was holding her hair tugged it harder for her head to tilt up, enabling her to look into the darkest green eyes she had ever seen, only then did she notice the lit candles in the room but the flames were a dark green, indicating the usage of black magic. No wonder she had been able to see all along, but her fear had made her unable to notice anything else but the impending doom that awaited her.

Having seen the witches earlier, she was a bit confused on whether the woman standing in front of her was a dark witch or not. The dark witches usually possessed black eyes and pale-shelled skins, their sights were hideous, but this woman in front of her was a stark contrast to the others in the room.

Although she didn’t look human, she had immersing features. She possessed gripping dark green eyes, they were the darkest shade of green she had ever seen, darkly enchanting, silky waterfall of black locks cascaded down her tall slender frame clothed in a black ornate garb, her skin was smoothly pale unlike the cracked ones of the other witches, she was simply bedazzling with a blend of venom dripping out from every inch of her ambiance.

Breaking her from her observations, she felt the cold fingertip of the woman graze under her chin, and without warning she suddenly pricked her. Malika winced as she watched the woman savor her blood with an undiscernible gleam in her eyes as she said "Soul, pure and rid of sins, heart as transparent as diamonds, very rare, it seems like you’ll be serving two purposes now. Becoming the bait to lure and a sacrifice."

Malika gulped, words trapped in her throat as she stared at the woman in speechlessness, even though she couldn’t comprehend what the strange lady was conveying, she very much knew it wasn’t a pleasing plight to be objectified as a bait and a sacrifice, especially when it was coming from a dark witch, her chest tightened.

Everyone was well aware of their gory rituals and sacrifices, and at that moment it occurred to her that she was about to be kidnapped by the dark witches to be used as bait and a sacrifice.

’Had they invaded the castle just for her?’ Her inner goddess rang as dread engulfed her whole.
