The Devil's Warrior Queen -
Chapter 144: Heartsickness
Chapter 144: Heartsickness
The air froze with heavy, palpable tension and rage, one that was emanating from Rama as she sat glued to her chair, limbs frozen as for a split moment, the demoness’s words became incomprehensible to her.
’Draco would never!’ She screamed inwardly, but the grin on her face and her eyes glinting with excitement made the thoughts die in her head, unable to be spilled out as they clogged in her throat.
Her heart pace intensified with anger, she was enraged by her words but mostly by the sneaky grin adorning the demoness of lust’s gorgeous face, the face she wanted to beat to a bloody fucking pulp!
Her jade eyes burned with anger, but she didn’t want to jump into conclusions without hearing from Draco first. She trusted him, but even with that, she couldn’t help but become enraged.
The demoness seemed awfully confident about her words, making her seem more doubtful about her trust for him. She wanted so badly to trust him, but the stupid smirk on her face like she had won a trophy made her irritated to the core, her entire being was filled with bitterness and envy.
She was well aware his entire being belonged to her only, but the jealousy gnawing at her skin emitted a blazing anger within her. The disrespectful wench! She cursed inwardly as she glared hotly at her.
"Well, that’s the only thing you’re good for, using your body and not your brains." Rama retorted between gritted teeth, her voice almost breaking by the hot tears choking her she hadnt spilled yet.
"Yet you still can’t satisfy your husband and then he comes running to me in the middle of the night." Onyx drawled with an annoying chuckle that made her ears bleed.
Her eyes flared with rage and her stomach churned in unease. She wanted, no, she needed assurance so badly from Draco to tell her the stupid bloody whore was a liar, he hadn’t run to her when he was trapped in a silent torment, that he hadn’t left her to protect her, only to find solace in the arms of that bloody demoness with that stupid smirk on her face.
"That’s enough Onyx, you should have kept that a secret, now pray Draco doesn’t cut off your bloody head just to please his wife." Amon said with a grave countenance, his voice heavy with caution.
The solemn, slightly regretful look on Onyx’s face made her breath hitch. The fact she didn’t deny it even after Amon’s dreary warnings made her wonder if she was being truthful and not just bluffing.
With her mind in a chaotic haze, she abruptly sprouted up from her chair and exited the dinning hall, with her body trembling slightly and her jade eyes glistening with unshed tears like the ocean waves.
She swallowed heavily as she arrived at her private chamber, shutting the door behind her, she slumped down on the bed and the tears came pouring down her face onto the bed like a waterfall. She wanted to see Draco and gain assurance from him, but at the same time she didn’t want to see his face, she wanted to be alone.
She was utterly heartbroken, it felt as though the broken shards of her heart pierced her inside and out, making her bleed inwardly, bleed with jealousy, pain and anger, it overwhelmed her wholly like a whirlpool of all the ugly emotions she felt sucking her into them.
She felt heartsick to the core, no remedy could cure the ache of the betrayal she felt, it was like a poisonous dagger that infected her entire body the moment she was stabbed in the heart with it.
She sobbed harder than she had ever cried, tears streaming down her face, tears she had never cried before all poured out of her eyeballs so effortlessly, like there was a hidden dam behind it.
Her fists clenched tightly at the unendurable pain that was seeping into her skin like a toxic venom, she hated every inch of how she felt. Onyx’s words almost went through her head, making her almost blame herself for his betrayal, but she shook her head and deviated from the infectious thoughts, it wasn’t her fault, betrayal wasn’t a mistake or an option, it was a choice.
She lay in bed all day, face buried in the soaked sheets were she had cried her eyes out, but still she didn’t move an inch away from position, her limbs felt utterly drained of every possible energy she had, her heart and brain had gone numb from too much thinking and ache, she didn’t think anymore, didn’t ache anymore, she just lay in bed, numb.
Her reddened eyes drooped with heaviness and weariness from all the crying she had done, which she didn’t know how long it had been for. Without struggle, she succumbed into the soothing embrace of slumber, at least she could escape her ugly reality for some time.
-------------
Waking up with a deep grunt, she stretched her tired limbs before sitting up on her queen sized bed covered with soft pelt sheets and fur cushions.
Her brows furrowed when the realization of how and why she was in her private chamber hit her. She was furious, but she would save it for the time she would encounter Draco for the truth.
Deep down, she felt a sense of trust and belief in him, but her intrusive thoughts only crammed pessimistic thoughts in her head. She wanted to badly doubt the whore, but her trophy like grin only made her unnerved more.
Taking a resolution to hear from him before finally passing a judgement or fixed conclusion, she took a sharp inhale in, calming her wrecking nerves down, although it didn’t help much, but her eyes were no longer spilling tears like a broken dam was behind it.
She finally noticed it was evening when her eyes narrowed to the window side, the clouds were hovering darkly in the sky, even the moon had been concealed by its eerie darkness, not a streak of moonlight was able to penetrate through it.
Her stomach rumbled noisily, she was hungry, but her appetite had vanished into thin air because of those stupid demons. Sighing out, she rang for a maid to bring her dinner, no way she was going to the dining hall where she could either see Draco or those stupid demons, although she wanted to see Draco but her pride and anger swallowed her longing.
She ate her dinner in silence and unnerving loneliness, it was a painfully long dinner and something told her it was going to be a painfully long night.
Swallowing her food with a heavy heart and heavy mind, she was finally done with dinner but it felt like a hassle to eat.
She paced around, wriggling in anxiety and unsettlement, she couldn’t be settled without hearing from Draco, it felt impossible to go to sleep with such a heavy heart without crying her eyes out, but now she didn’t feel like crying in the slightest, she felt like punching his face to a bloody pulp and destroying that gorgeous face of his, but deep down, she could feel his devotion to her, although her sense of jealousy overwhelmed her rational thinking.
She subconsciously rubbed on the charmed ruby necklace. A slight tang of sadness engulfed her when she realized she was been rather too in a rush to doubt Draco because of that demoness’s words. Demons were cunning liars, although she was still enraged, she decided to suppress it until she came across him and heard from him.
She wondered where he was, where he had been and when he was coming back. Although she could ask Zamiel, his right hand man but, she thought against it.
Her mind was in a state of disarray as she didn’t know what to trust or doubt, so she shut her thoughts out for the now, not until she would see him face to face and confirm her doubts, despite her jealousy pricking her skin like thorns.
The thought of his naked body against that whore of a demoness made her blood run hot with blazing anger, but she shook it off.
Shaking her head vigorously, she slammed her hands on the table angrily. He wouldn’t betray her like that and hurt her especially being aware of the feud between her and the whore, she thought inwardly.
He had made it clear that he needed no one else but her, that his body, mind and soul belonged to her, no one else would share his heart and bed with her, she was the sole possessor right? She pondered inwardly, doubt clawing at her heart.
She shut her eyes closed bitterly, a certain bitterness resting on her tongue. She hated how the feeling of jealousy engulfed her in such way, it made her think of nothing but him.
The feeling of insecurity without him was a foreign sensation that unnerved her to her very core, she needed him, only his presence could give her security and assurance, it would calm her down but he was nowhere to be found.
Every second spent without him only made her doubts and insecurity intensify more, she was lost without him.
