The Devil's Warrior Queen
Chapter 135: Audacity

Chapter 135: Audacity

The maids rooted to the floor all bowed as he finally approached them, while the maid kneeling beside her feet trembled even more as she looked up, her face turning pale as if every ounce of blood had been drained out of her.

’Now she looks like a vampire.’ Rama thought inwardly, quite enjoying the girl’s plight.

With a sarcastic smirk, he asked "What party have I not been invited to?"

Although he was being sarcastic, she knew that something had ruined his mood.

"Nothing, it’s all taken care of." Rama said, wanting to get this over with so she could be on her way.

"It doesn’t seem like nothing love." He said, emphasizing on his words as he eyed the maid below him with disgust, like she was nothing but a useless piece of rag.

"I took care of it." She said with a satisfied smile, but the sign of displeasure etched on his face showed that he wasn’t satisfied with how she took care of it.

’Typical Draco, he just had to drag things on more than intended’ she thought inwardly with a scoff, but a part of her liked the feeling of him standing up for her, her inner goddess giggled.

"I don’t trust you took care of it properly, a little birdie told me that a certain maid said something and I’d like to hear it from the maid herself, every single word and if she doesn’t say it as perfectly, she’ll be losing her tongue." Draco implied, his crimson eyes narrowing to the maid kneeling on the floor.

His head tilted to the side as he waited with impatience for her to speak.

"Are you deaf? I don’t remember you being deaf when you ran your mouth. Get up and speak." Draco commanded, his voice was calm but the underlying danger beneath it made the air freeze with dread.

Rama could feel the air intensify with apprehension, the tension was palpable and she soon feared the situation might escalate more than it should have been intended to. For all she knew, Draco didn’t take disrespect kindly, but she wondered how far he would go for her as she watched with eagerness and bated breath for what he would do next.

Swallowing, the maid rose to her feet, her body trembling like a leaf in the midst of a storm as she opened her mouth to speak, it was either she spoke or she’d lose her tongue.

"She’s not... even pretty, her skin is tanned... and she holds no candle...to the female vampires. I wo-wonder why the king married her." The maid repeated in between sobs as she stuttered uncontrollably, her words choked by the hot tears pouring down her face like a waterfall.

His eyes darkened as he heard the insult to his beloved queen. Slowly, a wicked smile curled on his lips, revealing his deadly fangs.

With a voice like velvet over steel, he responded, "Ah, my dear maid, you have a unique talent for ignorance. The beauty of my queen transcends mere mortal standards. Her tanned skin is kissed by the very sun that trembles at her grace, and her radiance outshines a thousand moons. As for the female vampires, they are but fleeting shadows compared to the eternal flame of her allure. But I do admire your courage, it takes a certain audacity to insult the most powerful couple in this realm."

He paused for a moment with an observant gaze before adding "Perhaps a lesson for humility is needed among the servants, I have quite been soft on them lately."

His words made Rama scoff in disbelief, if there was anything he was, soft wasn’t one of them.

"What punishment do you see befitting of this ignorant creature, feisty wife?" His words came out as a tease, but his crimson eyes were as hard as burning coal.

"Uhm, she’s apologised for her unwise words, I’ll be merciful just this once." Rama said.

A devious grin crossed his lips like the doorway to hell as he said "I have no mercy in me, not even for the slightest offence."

"Well, then....what punishment could I possibly give her?" Rama said thoughtfully as she stared up at the high ceiling.

"I’ll give you two options then. Trample on her or cut off her tongue, just so she’s aware of how useless she is." He suggested.

Rama didn’t want to have to give the girl such a gruesome punishment of cutting off her tongue for a harmless insult, so she quickly chose to rather trample on her.

"I’d rather trample on her, although she’s so small, I’m not sure she’ll survive my weight." Rama joked with a small chuckle while the other maids stood frozen with head lowered as if a bucket of ice water had been poured on them.

"On the floor." Draco commanded and the maid without hesitating, immediately lay on her front, body sprawled on the floor for the queen to use as a rug.

Tugging her gown slightly up, Rama hesitantly placed one foot on the girl’s small back but then Draco’s voice made her shift their leg back.

"That’s not how to do it, love."

She turned to look at him with creased brows, now he was pushing it. "How then do you trample on someone?" Her tone came out in a hiss.

"Start from the head." He replied.

She shrugged and as Draco had directed, she stepped on her head down her back, she could hear the girl groan in pain as she trampled on her like a rug before stepping down.

"Now, it’s time for your execution." Draco’s voice rang, the other maids gasped and shivered visibly at the declaration, while the trampled girl groaned in pain as she got up.

"What do you mean by execution? You said to punish her." Rama queried in confusion while the redhead’s eyes widened in terror.

"I changed my mind." Draco said in a clipped tone and before another word could be said, the next moment transpired too fast for their humane senses to react.

In a flash of malevolent grace, he drew a sword from thin air, a blade forged in the heart of darkness itself manifested in his hand. Its gleaming edge whispered promises of doom as it caught the torch light, casting an eerie glow across the hall.

The maid’s gasp of terror was drowned by the his presence as he advanced with supernatural speed. In a single, swift motion, he raised his blade, the shadows dancing upon its surface, and brought it down with a chilling finality.

The sword cleaved through the air, slicing across her neck in a beat. For a moment her head was still on her neck, with blood seeping through the laceration down her dress, and in the next second with a sickening thud, the maid’s head tumbled to the ground, her lifeless eyes frozen in shock, followed by her headless body that slumped on the ground.

A momentary silence hung in the room, broken only by the echoing drip of her blood, a cruel testament to Draco’s merciless wrath. His sword dripping with her blood vanished into thin air with a cloud of smoke engulfing it.

Rama was in a frozen state as she saw the maid’s blood slowly engulf her decapitated body, her head half rolled to stop at the wall, while her lifeless green eyes were opened in shock.

She had seen blood before, fought in wars and killed men, but this time it was different. Even though the maids were envious of her, she wouldn’t think of killing them, they were only naive jealous young girls and not a valid threat to her in anyway. To see Draco taking the girl’s life so viciously made her feel nauseous.

Gulping heavily and bitterly, she walked away from the scene, she could hear the maids gasping heavily and sobbing behind her.

A strong hand suddenly grabbed her arm for her to face him. She struggled to break free from his steely hold when she saw his face.

"What’s wrong love, did I do something to offend you?" He queried innocently.

"Why did you do that? She was already scared to death, she wouldn’t have done that again after scaring her so much! For heaven’s sake she pissed herself when she saw you, did you have to be so cruel?!" Rama yelled enraged, not caring if every living soul in the castle heard her or not, she was mad very mad she could right at that moment plunge a dagger into his chest.

The girl was undoubtedly at an age range of sixteen to eighteen, it reminded her of Malika, of how she would feel if someone had treated Malika that way and beheaded her like she wasn’t even a living being but only a disposable ragdoll.

"She disrespected you and a lesson was to be made for the other maids to learn from. They respect who they’re afraid of and If they don’t fear you they won’t respect you, humans are such easy beings and fear is the only way you can control them feisty wife." He said nonchalantly.

"She’s a human being like me, not just a tool for a lesson. She wasn’t, none of them would have done it again either way, because I had already taken care of it. You didn’t have to go so far as to kill her, that was cruel of you!" She snapped, her eyes sufficed with rage.

"I have always been cruel and will always be cruel Rama, why do you act as if you do not know who I am or the darkness I was created from. I have no mercy neither do I have compassion. You have no idea the things I have done in the past, beheading a maid holds no candle to it." He said in a low callous voice, a voice that paved way to the darkness emitted from his being.

"You can amend your ways, I’m not telling you to change but...still, be a bit considerate, it won’t hurt, you don’t have to be your father because you’re not him." Rama said, her voice choked with anger, her throat dry and chest tight with heaviness.

"I have killed men and women, children, fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, newborns destroyed homes, caused havoc without regret, without remorse, without any feeling. I am not the devil because Lucifer is my father, I am the devil because I am his son." He said in a guttural voice floating with the eerie wind.

A dark chuckle rolled off his tongue as it reverberated beneath his breath in a daunting note. "There is no change for me Rama, even God himself can not grant me redemption." With that said, he veered around and walked away, leaving her speechless as she watched his retreating figure fade away into the dark corridors.
