The Devil's Warrior Queen
Chapter 123: Encounter With The Devil

Chapter 123: Encounter With The Devil

The air was damp and clammy, clinging to her skin like a cold invisible hand to her body, her voice had been lost to the chilling wind, even as she struggled to form words, specifically a cry for help.

She wanted to call for Draco’s help which was quite ironic because he was supposed to be her enemy not her saviour, but logically, he was her husband and bond mate, he was entitled to save her from the dark entity known as Lucifer who was standing right in front of her.

The Devil stared down at her in silence, his face devoid of any emotions, immune to the fragility of humanity or the emotions they portrayed whatsoever, his fiery golden ember eyes illuminated a dark fire from within, one that burned through the depths of one’s soul.

"W-What do you want from me?" She managed to say in a smattering breath, her heart pounding hard against her ribcage harder than she could have ever fathomed.

"It’s not what I want from you, Rama. The question is, what can you offer?" His voice floated smoothly across the wind, calm and low with a callous tone, yet an underlying tone of peril slithered through his words.

Her breath hitched at his words, pondering on what he meant to convey by his statement. Did he mean to say she was useless and couldn’t offer anything because she was a human? Was that the reason he abhorred the union between a human and a demon? She pondered inwardly.

"What. Can. You. Give?" He emphasized with an air of darkness, every word that escaped his lips were a whispered symphony of dread, one that made her terrified to the core.

He started moving towards her, as he approached her with heretical movements like a languid dance of damnation while the intensity of his gaze was fixed on her like dancing flames.

With shaky breaths erupting from her quivering lips, she moved her shaky feet back, finally her limbs had given in to her survival instincts as they moved back away from him.

As she backed away from him, he suddenly stopped moving, his golden eyes narrowing to something or perhaps someone behind her, but the adrenaline coursing through her veins made her keep moving back anyway till her back hit the hard chest of someone.

She froze in her steps as she felt the darkness intensifying behind her, undoubtedly oozing from the sinister presence behind her.

The air grew heavy with malevolence, the ground beneath her feet trembling with an otherworldly force provoked by the embodiment of evil.

She wanted to veer around, but she was already aware of the dark entity looming behind her, emitting that chilling air shrouding them, but now he seemed different, darker, his presence terrified her as much as Lucifer’s.

"Stay away from her." A voice rumbled like the dark clouds behind her, it wasn’t loud rather it came out as a low growl emitting spine chilling waves in the air.

For the first time, she saw a wicked smile tug the edges of Lucifer’s crimson smeared lip up, a half hearted empty grin that exposed his faintly pointed fangs. Malevolence echoed in the absence of light in those hollow, empty eyes of his.

The eerie smile faded from his face as he looked at his son, eyes devoid of fatherly love to convey to his son, only darkness mirrored his golden gaze.

"You feel as though history is not being repeated because she’s bonded to you this time. History is indeed not repeated, its being made and twisted into a path you would never have fathomed." His father spoke, their fiery gazes burning into each other’s.

"History is indeed not being repeated here." Draco said, a lingering whiff of impatience and hostility in his tone.

"The audacity you have to seal her to yourself with the sacred bond bite, but even the mark will not save her from the treacherous fate that awaits her." Lucifer remarked, his voice never faltering in its calm and low tone.

"Lay a finger on her and I’ll show you who the real devil among us is." Draco hissed, the timbre of his voice as sharp as poisoned daggers.

She saw Lucifer’s golden gaze flicker past her with mirrored sinister intent before dropping his gaze back on Draco.

"I won’t have to lay a finger on her, but she’ll wallow in despair beyond salvation and neither Heaven or hell will be able to redeem her, she’s a lost cause, your lost cause." He stated, in a nonchalantly tepid tone.

"She doesn’t need salvation from either." Draco said in a low growl between gritted teeth.

"You think she’s safe by bonding her to yourself, but you only paved the path for the beginning of her perfidious fate, where dark forces rise to destroy your weakness, your bond mate. You did not only seal her to yourself, you sealed her to her inevitable doom." His voice calm, yet stirred an uneasy sensation brewing in the pit of her stomach with every inauspiciously dreary words floating from his lips.

"There is no force or being sauntering on the face of this earth, heaven or hell that is born of a darkness shallower than the deepest depths of an abyss as I am, so let the dark forces arise, I’ll burn them with my scorching flames and send them back to hell, leaving nothing but a tale of nightmare in my wake." Draco uttered, every word leaving his lips portraying impending doom, weaved from the depths of hell itself as he promised nothing but darkness on those who would dare harm her.

Trapped in between the devil and his son as the air intensified with a promising vicious ambiance, she was torn between whether to be impressed by Draco’s unwavering promises and determination to keep her safe from the claws of dark forces or whether to be extremely heedful towards the treacherous warning and underlying threats from Lucifer.

"Nevertheless of whether you’re capable of protecting her or not, dark forces are coming for her....or maybe you." He paused and then continued as his gaze dropped on her.

"Your wife looks tired, I’ll take my leave and visit again at a more pleasing time, till then." He drawled darkly.

As soon as the words rolled off his lips, a swirling vortex of darkness intermingling with hellish sparks of flames enveloped his presence, the heavy wind made her robe flail violently and her hair whipped everywhere.

As the tempestous whirlwind enveloped his sinister form, he seemed to dissolve into the very essence of darkness, only his flaming golden eyes visible in the whirlwind of darkness, gradually fading until he vanished into the abyss, returning to the infernal depths from whence he came leaving behind only the lingering echoes of his malefic presence.

Her breath came out in ragged breaths as she inhaled deeply, it felt as if his presence had been suffocating her and now she could finally breath even though the embodiment of darkness was still behind her, he was of a darkness that she was familiar with, a darkness she found solace in without knowing.

She felt strong arms on her shoulders as it gently turned her around for her eyes to meet Draco’s gaze. His usual crimson ember eyes was now burning with a feral intensity, but beneath it, a flicker of warmth was visible as he stared at her with creased brows.

His warm hands cupped her small face as he stared at the girl in shock, still yet to recover from her uncanny encounter with the devil himself.

"Are you okay? Rama?" He called out with a low calm voice, one that differed in contrast from the guttural one he used in speaking to his father.

She opened her mouth to speak, but she only nodded in response, her throat felt dry with fear. Still in a state of daze, she didn’t realize when he swept her up her feet and carried her in a bridal style until she had reached his chambers as she felt the velvety softness of the bed beneath her bottom with her back leaning against the headrest.

"Rama?" He called again, staring at the shock stricken girl in worry.

"What? I’m fine." She spluttered shakily.

"You’re not fine, but I promise he won’t be able to hurt you, no one would." He said, his tone a stark contrast to the usual arrogant one of Draco, it was soft and passionate, almost like the feel of an invisible delicate kiss brushing her lips, now she wanted to feel his lips on hers.

"Why?" She queried, her voice coming out in a shallow whisper as their gazes locked, unspoken desires and words swirling in his intense ones reflecting over hers.

"Why what?" He queried back.

"Why are you doing this? Why did you mark me? Why did you marry me when you don’t even love me?" She stated out, demanding for a response. He paused for a second before replying her.

"Because the bond transcends beyond love. Love is a fragile, mortal feeling that could easily fade away, but the bond is inevitable, irreplaceable and an eternal force that surpasses mortal comprehension. So yes Rama, I do not feel a delicate feeling such as love towards you, I feel a stronger force that defies mortality and human understanding, does that answer your question feisty princess?" He drawled with a mischievous grin, but she could see the sincerity of his words in those ice cold eyes of his that had melted to be replaced with fiery passions and desires.
