Chapter 787: Mocking Isis
Chapter 787: Mocking Isis
Sierra’s entire face, the part of neck which was visible, was covered with blue green scales. Her gray hair looked lifeless, but even though her eyes remained beautiful and bright. Just by those beautiful violet eyes, Seren could imagine how beautiful her mother must be.
"Mother..." low hurt voice left Seren’s mouth. It was not because her mother looked this way, but because she was being humiliated by someone.
Sierra’s eyes were moist as she didn’t know what to say or do. She had always been wary of showing her appearance to her daughter and when she was her finally, it happened this way.
"Do you know who turned your mother like this?" Isis’s voice reached their ears, but the two didn’t break their gazes at each other. "I am the one who turned your mother into this ugly witch. She used to be so proud of her beauty, and I just took away her pride. Now she can’t even dare show her face to her own daughter. How pathetic!
Seren looked back at Isis, her teary eyes furious. "You are the one who is pathetic and abusing your powers. By showing my mother, what do you want to prove huh? Whatever you do, for me my mother remains the most beautiful. It was not her pride but must be your jealousy to see someone so beautiful that you could not stand her. I have faced a lot of jealous women like you in the human realm, I can clearly tell the kind you are- The pathetic one.."
Isis’ gaze turned angry as she heard Seren, as if her words had scratched her old wound. "You halfling, seems like you want to turn just like your mother," she looked at Sierra, "What do you say Sierra? Shall I make your daughter look just like you? Then maybe you two would really look like a mother and daughter."
Sierra’s expressions changed as she feared this thing. "Isis..."
"I am not scared of you and your threats," Seren said before her mother could show her weakness and beg Isis. "Try it if you can."
Sierra exclaimed. "Seren..." Worry for her daughter took away any rational thoughts.
"Mother, I have been called ugly all my life. I am not scared of it. She can try it," Seren said with determination. "The last thing I want any one of us to do is beg her for mercy. I would rather die than doing so. Wicked woman like her would meet her end sooner or later," Seren added.
"Your daughter is as stubborn as you, Sierra. You failed to teach her what pain stubbornness can bring her," With that Isis moved her fingers, chanted something and launched a curse towards Seren, but....
Everyone was shocked. The curse spell reached Seren but vanished even before it would touch her.
’What’s going on?’ Isis and other angels wondered in surprise.
Just then someone laughed wickedly. Ember, who was quiet till now spoke, "You pathetic goddess, why don’t you try again? Let’s see how powerful you are."
Seren and Ember shared gazes as if both were taking Isis for a fool.
Isis tried again but the result was the same.
"What did you do?" Isis asked Seren in disbelief.
Seren smirked, "You do not deserve to know."
Ember chuckled once more and Isis looked at her. Though the face was different, Ember’s eyes were the same that reminded Isis the deity of fire, the one she could never forget and hated with all her might.
"You wretched goddess, you plan to take hellfire but you can’t even cast a single spell. Maybe free me from these chains and I will show you how it is done," Ember’s gaze turned sinister, "maybe you will experience how it feels to be burned in the hellfire."
"Shut your mouth you pathetic earthlings," Isis shouted and looked at Ember as she smirked, "Don’t you remember how you ended up in previous life? Everyone you cherished hates you and looks at you as a threat. Seems like you want to experience it once more. Won’t be long once I take that hellfire and...."
"You cover hellfire but how can you do that without the help of the Lord of Darkness?" Ember interrupted her, "Do you even know the one you were trying to harm just now is the mate of His son? Would he truly help you if he gets to know it?"
Isis’s expressions changed. She knew it was impossible without his help.
"My father-in-law, though bound by oaths, he values his relationship with his child’s mother, Evanthe," Seren said, "You must know her as well, right? The most cherished Deity of water. Don’t tell me you were jealous of her as well and you plotted against her. I wonder what would happen once her memories are back. Will you still be this arrogant deity?"
"Shut your filthy mouths," Isis shouted again and said to Seren, "Enjoy your life until the moment I get the hellfire. Once I do, there is nothing that can protect you. Every day, I will be torturing you here..."
"You can’t keep us here for long, Isis," Sierra said, her voice weak, "To get the help of the Lord of Darkness, you have to reveal us to the deities and the King. Only they can summon the Lord of darkness," Sierra chuckled, "And yes, you can’t kill any of us. Those two are immune to death at this moment and about me- You can’t dare kill me."
"You think I won’t dare?" Isis offered her a challenging look.
Sierra met her gaze, mocked her in her own eyes, "If you wanted to kill me, you would have done it already. But you didn’t and you know it well- why?"
Ember and Seren wished to know as well what Sierra was going to say.
"If you kill me now, the deities will know about it right away," Sierra said, "Though reduced to a witch, I am still a part of this heaven realm. I was born from a heavenly spirit. My existence is still itched on the stone of life in the heaven realm. If I die, the stone of life will alert the entire heaven then all the deities will rush over here by following the essence of my dying soul which you can not hide. You can no longer keep us or kill us. So tell me, what are you going to do now, my dear old friend?"
Seren felt delighted that her mother had an upper hand despite being imprisoned. She was relieved that this Isis won’t harm her mother.
After a short silence, Isis spoke, "Sierra, you have truly enlightened me and showed me the right way. Soon I’ll present you in front of all the deities and we will see how the Lord of Darkness dare defy his oaths and won’t help us. He is bound to obey the heavens. Once the hellfire is secured, I can get my hands on it any moment."
"Obey the heavens?" Sierra chuckled, "If he truly had to obey the heavens, he wouldn’t have gone against his oaths and have his own son. It shows he values Evanthe more than any oaths he had taken. Try it and you will see."
It angered Isis and she used her powers in Sierra which left her groaning in pain.
"Mother..." Seren called out and tried to reach her but she was confined in the magical chains.
Isis’s angry voice echoed in the dungeons. "Lord of Darkness had done it before and he would do it again. He was the one to get the hellfire from the previous deity when the heavens asked his help and this time it won’t be any different. You three just wait till I kill you three using the same hellfire to never be born again. And then will come Evanthe’s turn. I will send her to you as well."
Ember looked at her, "Isis, you wait for the day when I use my hellfire to burn you at the depth of the hell and torment your soul till eternity."
