Chapter 116: Fly and Shadow Bat-Wings
***
The next day.
Milenia’s backyard.
Agares and Aoi stood still, watching ahead. There stood Milenia in her lovely dress—her belly slightly bigger now, but it didn’t seem to limit her.
"You just need to focus on what’s in your mind."
Milenia gripped her magic staff in one hand. Her eyes closed, letting her focused mind guide her body’s energy. Slowly, she began to float steadily in the sky, leaving Agares and Aoi amazed.
"Woah! You’re really flying," said Agares.
"It’s easy, but my mana drains once every hour."
"How much?"
"No idea, it’s different for everyone. But for me, it’s around 200 mana."
"That’s not much."
Milenia flew lower toward Agares, then glided around him freely, brushing her hand against his face. What looked easy from Milenia’s movements was actually tough—at least in her opinion.
Besides having a decent mana pool, they also needed a strong sense of balance. Without balance, they could easily fall or crash into something.
"Give it a shot, Agares."
He nodded—of course, not wanting to lose to Milenia. It made sense that she had great control over her body’s balance since she was experienced. But for Agares, it was a whole different story.
This was a big moment—his very first attempt at flying. He hoped he could pull it off well.
Agares closed his eyes, focusing all his thoughts on controlling his body’s energy. He had to mentally suggest to himself to cancel gravity’s effect on him.
That way, manipulation would be possible, and flying wouldn’t be just a fantasy.
Slowly, Agares’s feet started lifting off the ground. Aoi screamed in fear, calling out to him from below.
Agares opened his eyes and saw he was already in the air—right around the height of a two-story house. Milenia smiled and clapped. She floated up to meet him, face to face.
"W-What should I do now?"
"Relax. Have you ever gone swimming?" Milenia asked.
"Yeah."
"Same motion—except don’t swing your arms."
"Lean your head forward and use your body’s energy to push from beneath your feet," Milenia explained.
Agares nodded. This really was the first time he’d flown—in this world or the previous one.
Flying on a plane? Sure, that was normal. But flying without any kind of device? That was unheard of back on Earth.
He followed what Milenia said. Agares leaned forward—and suddenly zipped ahead, flying fast and totally out of control.
Milenia panicked. Agares could seriously get hurt if he couldn’t manage his balance and energy.
"AAAKKKKKKHHH!"
"Relax! Control your mind and body. That’s how you fly smoothly!"
Agares kept speeding around the backyard, crashing into branches overhead and nearly slamming into the small pavilion.
He took a deep breath—then slowly let it out. In that moment, two black wings appeared on his back, shaped like bat wings, formed from his dark energy. Milenia gasped.
"Wings?!"
With those two wings, Agares could now fly steadily, dodging walls and obstacles around Milenia’s home.
Milenia was stunned—and impressed. She hadn’t expected Agares to be able to form wings so easily, conjured right from his affinity’s dark energy.
"I didn’t see those wings coming."
"I remembered how birds fly using their wings."
"So I figured... why not try that?" Agares explained.
She nodded, clearly impressed. It had never even crossed her mind to form wings from condensed energy.
But those black wings really suited Agares for now—at least until he fully mastered gravity manipulation.
"They suit you. You look... mysterious."
"Thanks, Milenia."
The two of them landed gently back on the ground. Agares was pleased—this new ability was already more useful than he expected. Now, exploring the 81st floor and beyond would be much easier.
"When do I get to learn how to fly?" Aoi asked.
Agares crouched down with a smile. Her time would come, eventually. But for now, she just needed to focus on what she already had.
"You’ll learn to fly later, Aoi."
"Okay. But next time you fly, take me with you!"
"Of course."
Milenia smiled and shifted her gaze forward, watching Agares closely. He had returned from the 80th floor, leveled up, advanced a stage, learned gravity manipulation—and now flying too.
It was time for Agares to head back to the dungeon and go even further. Maybe, just maybe, he’d be the only one to ever reach floor 100.
"So, you’re leaving?" Milenia asked.
Agares went quiet. He held Milenia’s hand, then gently rested it on her belly—it had grown noticeably.
The baby’s development was amazing. Agares was sure their child would grow up strong.
"Yeah. I need to continue my journey into that dungeon."
"No one knows what the dungeon’s like on the 81st floor and beyond. So stay cautious, and always be alert."
He nodded—he knew what he was doing. Agares understood just how dangerous the 81st floor was. He wouldn’t take risks or act recklessly.
"I’ll be careful. I’ll come home once I’ve cleared the 90th floor."
"Please come back after floor 85. I’m begging you."
Milenia looked worried. She was afraid Agares might miss the birth of their first child—and she didn’t want that.
She wanted their child to know what their father looked like, and she wanted to share moments together as a family in this city.
Agares saw Milenia’s anxious expression. She kept holding her belly gently, like she was already comforting their baby. Agares understood her fear.
"Alright. I’ll come back after I clear the 85th floor. I promise."
"Defeat them quickly. I’ll be waiting for you."

The next day.
Midgard City’s Crystal Stone.
Milenia arrived, accompanied by two male guards from her estate. She walked alongside Agares, who was heading back into the dungeon—not to floor 60 or 70, but to floor 81.
He was about to become the first person in the history of this dungeon to reach the 81st floor. Still, nobody knew who Rey really was.
At the crystal stone, Agares and Milenia saw lots of adventurers preparing to leave the city and begin their own dungeon runs. One of them came over and mocked Agares.
"Aren’t you that whore’s husband? I didn’t expect you to be out here clearing floors instead of just banging her."
"Where’s your adventurer party?" the guy asked, laughing mockingly.
"I’m not as weak as you—needing a whole group to beat a floor boss."
Agares stepped forward and showed the dungeon floor set on his teleportation token. Nan’s eyes widened—Rey’s token was set to the 80th floor.
"The 80th floor?!"
"Yeah. Teleportation tokens don’t work on the 81st floor. So I’ll head to the 80th first."
"THE 80TH FLOOR?!" shouted several others, all freezing mid-step.
Agares raised an eyebrow, staring at them sharply. "What? The 80th is easy for me to solo."
"SOLO?!" they gasped again. Milenia chuckled at their reactions.
She gently patted Agares’s shoulder, prompting him to turn around and look at her. Milenia tapped her magic pouch and pulled out a black bag filled with HP and Mana potions—for both Agares and Aoi.
"Thanks."
"Don’t forget your promise, Rey."
"You have to come back quickly," Milenia said firmly.
"Of course," said Agares, storing the black pouch. "I’ll come back for you."
