Chapter 119: 100 (second update, asking for monthly tickets)
The two seated near the edge, finding it inconvenient to board, hence there were hardly any people taking these seats. Sitting there feeling a bit bored, with nothing to say to Mo Junhua, Lan Tian fished out a peach from her bag and started nibbling on it.
"Hungry? I could buy you some buns," said Mo Junhua as he glanced at Lan Tian’s bulging bag, which was only about the size of a book and couldn’t hold much—perhaps two peaches at most. She had taken out a peach at the dumpling restaurant, and now, she had taken out another.
"No need, just felt like munching on something," said Lan Tian, who had just taken a few bites of the peach when she suddenly heard someone exclaim with surprise upon seeing Mo Junhua.
"Junhua, is it really you?" A female soldier in uniform bypassed Lan Tian and headed straight towards Mo Junhua, who sat next to Lan Tian.
Hearing this tender voice, Lan Tian paused in her peach-eating and glanced up at the woman sashaying towards them. With neat short hair, a palm-sized face, bright and large eyes, and a military uniform that had been tailored, it hugged her figure closely, accentuating her curves, giving her a seductive charm.
This female soldier was none other than Bai Lianhua, Mo Junhua’s true love from his past life!
Lan Tian honestly had no idea what Bai Lianhua’s real name was. Back when she was the cave master, she often heard young men and women admiring the view on the bridge, mentioning who was acting like a white lotus or green tea bitch, and what sort of affectations they had. Lan Tian thus took liberty to call Mo Junhua’s true love Bai Lianhua.
Bai Lianhua’s eyes brightened upon seeing Mo Junhua, shining as brightly as a dog that had just seen a bone.
Lan Tian sighed. What a crappy twist of fate; take a train and you bump into her. No wonder people say there’s melodrama everywhere and freaks are all around.
Lan Tian couldn’t believe she’d run into Bai Lianhua so soon. Ever since deciding to marry Mo Junhua, she had always known this day would come, just not this quickly. Even if she deviated from the original path and took detours of thousands of miles, fate eventually pulled people back onto their original tracks.
If escape was impossible, then one must face it bravely.
According to the development of their past life, the two had been a couple for a while. It seemed Mo Junhua was on a mission, and Bai Lianhua had started dating someone else. Now, they were probably broken up.
Bai Lianhua was so ecstatic; could it be they were reigniting their old flame?
Lan Tian glanced at Mo Junhua and kept on nibbling her peach, silent. It was not her place to meddle in their affair; she would just wait and watch the drama unfold.
Mo Junhua’s life, if written into a novel, would be one of a grassroots hero’s motivational journey. Bai Lianhua would be the female lead, their romance filled with ups and downs, twists and turns, weathering countless storms and enduring many hardships until finally, the clouds cleared up and they achieved their happily ever after.
The one to cause misunderstandings and hardships for them was none other than Lan Tian sitting next to them, and also Taohua who stayed in the village, not to mention a certain elite woman who hadn’t appeared yet—all cruel female rivals.
With Lan Tian, a big person, sitting next to them, Bai Lianhua completely ignored her, as if she was invisible. Calling "Junhua, Junhua" endearingly, anyone who didn’t know better would think they were an item!
"I saw a silhouette from afar that resembled you and doubted my eyes; I didn’t dare to call you. Coming closer, it’s really you," the female soldier said in surprise when she saw several burlap bags at Mo Junhua’s feet. "Are you returning home?"
Mo Junhua lifted his gaze towards the female soldier standing before him, not recognizing her, as she wasn’t one of his subordinates. The female soldier saw Mo Junhua looking at her and her smile brightened and turned insidiously sweet, nearly blinding Lan Tian.
Mo Junhua’s gaze settled on her face, and suddenly recalling who she was, he gave a dark look and a distant hum, then turned his head towards Lan Tian. Noticing some peach juice on Lan Tian’s mouth, he casually wiped it off, his movements natural, clearly a sign of habitual closeness.
Lan Tian, with an indifferent expression, glanced at Mo Junhua and continued to nibble on her peach, both of them ignoring the person standing beside them.
Bai Lianhua’s face colored with embarrassment as she noticed people around them whispering and pointing, her eyes reddening with a hint of grievance as she looked towards Mo Junhua. Seeing that he wasn’t paying her any attention, she thought about her standout status in the army’s medical department and how she had never been treated coldly before; her heart filled with even more grievance.
It was a rare encounter and she didn’t want to leave. Following Mo Junhua’s gaze, she noticed Lan Tian beside him and caught a glimpse of Lan Tian’s stunning beauty; a trace of envy flashed in her eyes, which quickly disappeared into her smile.
Lan Tian saw Bai Lianhua’s envy and couldn’t help but click her tongue in amusement. To envy so quickly wasn’t her usual style.
Suddenly, Lan Tian wickedly thought, should she stir up some trouble, do what the villainess in the story was supposed to do, and add fuel to their relationship’s fire? Perhaps there might be unexpected gains.
