Chapter 118: 99 (first watch)_2

At this moment, a "click" was heard, and the family photo was taken. Zhao Li looked at the young photographer incredulously, thinking that the photo wouldn’t turn out nice and asked for a retake.

The young photographer swore that if the photo didn’t turn out nice, it was on him, and he would offer a reshoot for the whole family. Only then did Zhao Li let it go. She also requested the photo to be as big as the table, which almost brought the young photographer to tears, as he explained the largest size available was only one foot. Grandma Sun thought one foot was big enough, and the young photographer almost hugged her out of gratitude, feeling there was at least one reasonable person in this family.

Lan Tian walked up to Mo Junhua, extending his hand, "Give me the photo to take a look."

Mo Junhua pulled out two photos from the stack, two large ones and one small one, and handed them to Lan Tian. Lan Tian looked at the photos and then at Mo Junhua, impressed by the young photographer’s skills as Mo Junhua looked even better in the photos. Gone was the stiff expression - his eyes were full of smiles. Where was the stiffness?

Lan Tian handed the two large photos to Grandma Sun, "Grandma, these are mine and Mo Junhua’s photos. Put them in my room. This one is for his mother."

Grandma Sun admired Lan Tian in the photo, exclaiming how beautiful and fairy-like she looked. Overhearing that Lan Tian had photos taken, Zhao Li came over to admire them, also complimenting Lan Tian for looking more beautiful than a fairy. Mo Yuanle peeked over with a smile in his eyes.

The young photographer from the photo studio stood by, listening to the flood of compliments. He thought this family must have shamelessly thick skins—bulletproof. Although they were praising the girl for being pretty, could they not be a bit more modest?

After the photo session, Lan Tian and the rest parted ways outside the studio.

"Grandma, you guys go back. Mo Junhua and I will head to the train station."

They had said at home that they would be too reluctant to part with her and wanted to see her off, but after taking a photo, they were being sent back.

Grandma Sun looked at Lan Tian, still wanting to accompany her to the train station. Lan Tian shook her head and declined, "Grandma, please don’t. I’m afraid when I see you reluctant to let go, I’ll not want to leave. Actually, I really don’t want to head to Shanghai—maybe I should just stay and study in the county instead!"

Before she could finish her statement, Grandma Sun quickly got into the car, urging Mo Yuan to hurry up. She turned to Lan Tian and Mo Junhua and said, "Live well, and stop looking for trouble when there’s none. Sanwa, if that girl disobeys, write to me. When she comes back, I’ll deal with her."

Mo Junhua smiled and agreed, "Grandma, I’ll definitely take good care of Lan Tian."

Grandma Sun looked at her son-in-law, Mo Junhua, with satisfaction and then shouted at Lan Tian, "Don’t cause trouble out there. It’s different from home, you hear?"

Lan Tian nodded. Who was the actual flesh and blood here? Was she adopted? The thought struck her that she indeed was.

Lan Tian couldn’t stand seeing Mo Junhua act cute, urging them to leave quickly, "Alright, grandma, auntie, you guys should go now! Take care of yourselves, don’t work too hard in the fields. Three people can’t eat that much anyway. I buried a jar of wine in the backyard, have a cup every other day, remember that! Don’t forget! Uncle, you should also go into the mountains less!"

Now it was Zhao Li’s turn to hurry everyone. The girl was so naggy, she urged Mo Yuan to leave quickly. Lan Tian watched them go until they were out of sight, then she and Mo Junhua headed for the train station.

To get to Shanghai, they needed to take a train, as there was no train station in the county. They had to take a bus from the county to the city first, then take a train from the city to Shanghai. The train was at four in the afternoon, arriving in Shanghai the next day at noon.

Mo Junhua went to buy tickets while Lan Tian watched over several hemp sacks. After he got the tickets, they headed to the waiting bus. From nine in the morning, sitting till two in the afternoon was quite a bumpy journey which made them very uncomfortable. Luckily, the bus station was right next to the train station, so there was no need to take another bus. They walked for about ten minutes to get there.

"Are you hungry, what do you want to eat?" Mo Junhua asked Lan Tian upon reaching the train station. Both had not eaten anything for lunch, and there were noodle shops and dumpling shops nearby. They decided to go eat something to fill their stomachs before boarding the train, as the food on the train was even worse.

Lan Tian looked up and pointed to a dumpling shop, "Let’s have dumplings. That place has fewer people; let’s go there."

Mo Junhua had no objections, and they both headed to the dumpling shop. Each ordered a bowl of dumplings, which arrived steaming hot in just a few minutes.

Lan Tian tried a dumpling but didn’t continue eating after that, as the filling was all fatty meat, too greasy for her taste. Seeing Lan Tian eating less, Mo Junhua’s eyebrows knitted slightly as he coaxed her gently, "The food on the train isn’t tasty, and you’ll like it even less. Eat some more, be a good girl, open your mouth."

Mo Junhua picked up a dumpling with his spoon and brought it to Lan Tian’s mouth. Seeing his non-negotiable expression, she opened her mouth and ate it but quickly shook her head as he tried to feed her another, "It’s too greasy; I can’t eat anymore. I’ll feel sick if I eat again; I have a peach." She took out a big peach from her bag to show Mo Junhua.

The food outside couldn’t compare to what they had at Sun’s house. The girl had become picky, not used to eating out. Seeing her looking a bit pale, Mo Junhua stopped urging her to eat, picked up Lan Tian’s leftover dumplings, and quickly finished them off before wiping his mouth.

The dumpling shop was run by a middle-aged couple who shook their heads and sighed at Lan Tian’s pickiness.

After Mo Junhua paid for the dumplings, they went to the waiting room.

The waiting room wasn’t too crowded, with occasional empty seats here and there. Various professions were represented, with all sorts of strange smells mixed together. Lan Tian entered and instantly shut down her senses.

The advantage of being tall is the far sight. Mo Junhua scanned the area and spotted two adjacent seats. Lan Tian, standing on tiptoes, glanced around, noticing few empty seats nearby.

"Let’s go this way," said Mo Junhua, carrying the sacks towards the seats, while casting a glance at Lan Tian. Seeing that Mo Junhua had found a spot, Lan Tian, too lazy to keep looking, followed him.
