Chapter 110: 94 (asking for first-time subscriptions, asking for monthly tickets)_2
"You go ahead and eat first."
Mo Junhua remained seated with a flash of amusement in his eyes, noticing some pastry crumbs on Lan Tian’s lips, he naturally reached out to wipe them away, as if he had done it countless times before.
This gesture was somewhat intimate, causing Lan Tian to stiffen for a moment as she continued to eat the pastries as if nothing happened. She still wasn’t quite accustomed to this gentle and considerate Mo Junhua; the cold version of him from her past life kept flashing through her mind, feeling surreal. Of course, Lan Tian also knew that her refusal was futile; this man had countless ways to achieve his goal.
Lan Tian didn’t have much of an appetite; she only ate two pieces of the same pastry and drank a cup of sweet wine before stopping. These pastries lacked Spiritual Energy and were full of impurities. After eating, she would need to expel the accumulated impurities in her body, which was troublesome! It was fine as long as she wasn’t hungry.
A subtle frown crossed Mo Junhua’s brow, worried that her appetite was too small, even smaller than a kitten’s. He advised, "Eat some more, there’s no dinner tonight, and we won’t have food until tomorrow. Pastries don’t fill you up for long and are easily digested; you might get hungry in the second half of the night with nothing to eat."
Lan Tian shook her head, "I don’t like these flavors. You can go out through the back door to my house and ask my aunt to get some peaches and grapes. I can just eat those tonight."
There were some things Lan Tian couldn’t explain to Mo Junhua. The peaches they had at home were from Taohua Valley, and Lan Tian had plenty in her Sleeve Universe, but she couldn’t just conjure them out of thin air to eat. There had to be some pretext, a shield of sorts, so she would have an excuse to eat peaches and grapes in the future.
Mo Junhua glanced at Lan Tian, wondering if Grandma Sun’s home had peaches and grapes. He had never seen any.
"Okay, I’ll get them later. Have one more drink, sweet wine doesn’t make one drunk." Mo Junhua poured another cup of sweet wine for Lan. The little one’s eyes twinkled when they glanced over the wine jar, like a cat hankering for a treat, unaware of how evident her craving was, mistaking it as well-hidden.
Lan Tian had a natural inclination to drink, cautious not to overdo it. After one drink, she stopped at the right time, fearing the repercussions if she got drunk. The sweet wine brewed by Wang Guiyu was a special delicacy in Mo Village. In her past life, Lan Tian once secretly sipped it, and the sweet and sticky flavor was really delicious.
Just those few sips left her feeling woozy for the entire afternoon, staggering as she walked, fluttering like a weightless being. Lan Tian had never drunk spirits before, not realizing that she was drunk, and ended up falling into the river outside the village while working in the field. Fortunately, the river wasn’t deep enough to drown anyone. However, with her pants soaked and the cold river water clinging to her body, Lan Tian snapped out of her daze, and from that moment on, she never dared to drink again.
After she began her cultivation journey, she would lie in a rocking chair, drinking Spiritual Wine from her personal cave domicile. Even if she got drunk, there was nothing to fear. There was an Array setup that prevented mortals from entering her domain, and the worst that could happen was sleeping for a few days in the rocking chair. When drinking, she would have a deep yearning for the sweet wine brewed by Wang Guiyu.
With a sparkling gaze, Lan Tian looked at the cup in Mo Junhua’s hand and then smiled at him. She was now safe at home, and took the wine cup from him, drinking a small sip, her eyes blissfully squinted.
A trace of drunkenness tinged Lan Tian’s cheeks, turning them a rosy blush as if touched by rouge, her lips moist and gleaming, her eyes reflecting a luminous, sparkling charm. When she looked at someone with a raised eyebrow, her allure was captivating and bewitchingly beautiful.
Mo Junhua watched her with darkening eyes, turned his head away and took a deep breath, doing his utmost to suppress the urge to pounce on her.
Surprised, she really did get drunk.
Lan Tian was oblivious to how enchanting she looked, raising a slender jade finger, pointing at Mo Junhua as she spoke, "You should go now, I’m afraid you won’t be able to leave later."
Lan Tian tilted her chin, gesturing outside, where the family feast was being enjoyed by relatives and friends. Some of them would head home after the feast, and a later batch would be from the villagers. Those rascals from the village would certainly come to make trouble soon.
After finishing the sweet wine in the cup, Lan Tian didn’t continue drinking. She stood up, put the cup on the table, and suddenly felt dizzy, with the whole world spinning around her. She softened and collapsed back onto the bed, pouting and looking at Mo Junhua with tear-filled eyes.
"Mo Junhua, you’re bullying me." Lan Tian accused him with puffed cheeks.
It was futile to reason with someone who was drunk; Mo Junhua nodded in appeasement, "Yes, yes, it’s my fault. I shouldn’t have bullied you."
Mo Junhua reached into his pocket for a handkerchief to wipe Lan Tian’s mouth and hands, but she wasn’t having it, swatting his hand away. She grabbed the collar of his clothes, pulling him closer, scrutinizing him left and right, her finger poking his face repeatedly, "Are you really Mo Junhua?"
"I am," Mo Junhua nodded. Who else could he be if not Mo Junhua?
Lan Tian’s mind was already muddled, clueless about what she was saying. She tilted her head to look at him, pausing before adding, "How come you don’t resemble the Mo Junhua from my memory at all?"
