Chapter 346: Something Confidential
Chapter 346: Something Confidential
"Will he really lose all of his existing memories?" Dani asked Fritz as she looked at the unconscious King lying beside their Queen in their own bed. Knowing their queen and her preference to wake up beside Nikolai, they didn’t put her in her own private chamber adjacent to that room. "How long will it take, do you think? Will he also lose his memories about our Queen?"
Queen Mineah had lost a great amount of energy during their escape, but her vitals were thankfully stable enough to leave her alone. In fact, Zaila even confirmed that she would wake up at any moment now. However, the same couldn’t be said for the King as he remained in deep slumber. While all of this was happening, words wrote themselves into the Chronicles of Fallen Angels. Apparently, he was still trapped inside his own mind because his soul received a great blow when Vulcan entered his body.
How they learned this would’ve been impossible if it hadn’t been for the book that somehow wrote what was about to happen to them all. Dani saw it first hand when she tried to connect the torn page they found in their queen’s pocket.
The scrap of paper promptly reattached itself to the book, and when Dani flipped through pages, more of the story suddenly appeared on the blank pages. It was detailing the significant events that had happened concerning their Queen as one of the nephilim born from a fallen angel of this era and generation. While navigating the pages, she happened to read about Queen Xenia. And even more, new writing appeared regarding their Queen and King Ezekiel.
According to the book, the King of Valcrez used up most of his energy going against the dragon’s soul to prevent it from taking full control over his body. All so he could talk to his Queen and tell her that he was the one she should stab to kill Vulcan’s soul. He took this risk, harming his own body, mind, and soul in the process, just to make sure that Queen Mineah wouldn’t make a mistake.
"I don’t know either, milady. All we can do now is wait for him to wake up and find out what are the memories he temporarily lost," Fritz commented with a sigh. "Still, at least they won’t be lost for good. He’ll regain them someday. It’s just that we’re not sure when." He shook his head as he added, "We can only hope that it won’t take long for him to repair the damage he took. Again, it was fortunate that he didn’t end up like his father."
That was true. It was already considered a miracle that King Nikolai didn’t die like his father when Vulcan’s soul merged with King Arturo before.
"Our King is lucky since he fed on the Queen’s divine blood. Plus, the two of them were connected through a bond. That probably saved his ass..." Fritz absently pointed out as he rambled. "Again, this temporary memory loss is still a better case compared with Zoran who permanently lost his memory about the love of his life."
Again, that was true. Vulcan’s soul had managed to stay inside King Ezekiel for longer than it should’ve because of the divine blood inside his body. Despite knowing this, however, this whole thing still left all of them speechless. Particularly, they couldn’t believe that a dragon’s soul was residing inside King Ezekiel’s body all this time. Still, what was important now was that everything was sorted and that they all succeeded in this mission. Vulcan was dead now, freeing King Ezekiel from his torment. And most importantly, their Queen’s curse was also broken!
But despite all of this good news, Dani couldn’t help but still worry about the things to come. It could all end up messily if their King wasn’t able to remember their Queen. And if he somehow magically happened to only retain his memories with Dahlia... It was all just so tiring...
For a while, they remained silent. That was when the door suddenly opened, her husband Abel entering the scene. "I already informed the Queen Mother about the situation," he informed them. "Right now, she’s with Alexa and Cyan while they store the magical books in the secret chambers of our national library. She’s pretty mad that we kept her in the dark about all of this until now."
"What can we do? We’re simply obeying our King’s command?" Fritz replied with a shrug before using his fan to cool himself. "It’s not like we can go against him. I’m sure the Queen Mother will understand that part."
"Fair enough," Abel shrugged back. "Also, I already informed Zoran and Dahlia of the situation since we’re not sure of the full scope of our king’s temporary memory loss."
Dani was about to move close to him, but Abel then turned to her and asked, "How is our Queen?"
"She’s fine. She just needs some time to regain her strength," she explained. "Now that the chaos in her body is gone, everything will be back to normal with her, and her divine blood will fully take over."
Or at least, that was what they learned after reading the magical book about fallen angels. She, along with the rest of the Queen’s shadow maidens gained a general understanding of everything that happened. It was all connected. The curses, and even the dragon king’s soul had connection with something after they dug hard enough.
Dani then stared at Abel and said, "You must hypnotize all of us. Zaila, Krisha, Laura, and I. Tell us to remain silent regarding the details of our Queen’s curse and the circumstance between Vulcan and King Ezekiel. We’re not resistant to hypnotization and compulsion. I don’t want to take the risk of us being the cause of bad rumors spreading about our Queen and the royal family of Ebodia."
She then took another breath as she continued, "Things are settling down for now, but some from the opposition could use this information and the events that transpired to twist things against our Queen and King."
"I understand. I will do exactly that then," Abel nodded in agreement. "This is something confidential, and we must prevent such information from leaking out. You’re thinking wisely, my dear wife. How about we go ahead and start now??"
Dani blinked at her husband who was currently giving her a devious and mischievous grin. For some reason, she had a feeling that he had a double meaning to his words.
