The Crown's Seduction -
Chapter 336: Another Vision
Chapter 336: Another Vision
Mineah was determined to find a chance to talk to Tarah before leaving Ebodia, so she quickly glanced at Tarah who had an aloof presence during the coronation hoping to talk to her privately. When she decided to approach her, Tarah was nowhere to be found.
"Mother, have you seen Tarah?" Mineah asked. Tarah had briefly appeared during the coronation alongside her mother but had left rather swiftly.
"Tarah is still a bit sick, dear, so she retired to her bedchamber," her mother explained.
"I wish to visit her and have a private conversation, Mother," Mineah stated.
"Let me summon her chamberlain to escort you to her bedchamber then," her mother offered.
Mineah nodded and then turned to her husband who was now talking to her father. Soon, Cora, Tarah’s chamberlain, arrived to guide her to Tarah’s bedchamber. As Mineah walked down the familiar hallways of the Jade Palace, she couldn’t help but smile. This palace was bestowed upon her brother when he was born. Ezekiel started living in it the moment he was old enough to live on his own.
Now that he was King, he had moved all major offices into this palace which was notably larger compared to the Rose Palace her parents were living in.
"So this is the main palace now," Mineah remarked.
"Yes, Your Majesty," the chamberlain confirmed. There were many ongoing renovations but Mineah could already notice the many changes Ezekiel had made to the palace since the last time she had been here.
After a short walk, Mineah frowned and asked, "Why are we heading to my brother’s bedchamber?"
The chamberlain calmly explained, "Seer Tarah’s bedchamber is situated next to His Majesty’s bedchamber."
Upon hearing this, Mineah abruptly stopped walking and exclaimed, "What?!"
"Seer Tarah is not only our Seer but also His Majesty’s personal healer, so he wanted her to stay near him in case of emergencies," Cora explained.
Mineah nodded as she remembered that Ezekiel indeed needed Tarah to be close to him as she was able to tame Vulcan inside his body. Logically, this made sense. She laughed at herself for thinking that they had an inappropriate reason for this kind of arrangement.
There were only two rooms on this floor. The rooms were designed in such a way that they were adjacent to each other, perfect for married couples of the monarchs.
Cora stopped and then knocked on the door, announcing their presence. Soon the door opened and Tarah greeted her with a curt bow, "Your Majesty."
Mineah couldn’t help but notice how pale her face was. "Please come inside..." Tarah said as she led her inside and instructed Cora to get them a hot tea.
As Mineah settled into her seat, she couldn’t help but notice how the room had changed since her childhood. This had been the room she and her sister Xenia used to sleep in whenever they wanted to bug Ezekiel. It had become a lot more beautiful and cozy.
Concerned about Tarah’s health, Mineah inquired, "How are you feeling? You still look pale."
"I am much better now, Your Majesty. This is nothing but a common cold and flu," Tarah explained. Mineah nodded because Tarah should know better. She had heard from Xenia that Tarah was a superb healer along with her gift to see the past and the future. But for some reason, there was an unease in Mineah’s heart. Lately, this unsettling feeling remained whenever she was around Tarah.
"Please don’t worry about me. I know that you’re worried right now because both King Nikolai and King Ezekiel will set off for their mission and-"
"Tarah, are you hiding something about this mission from me?" Mineah cut her off and used her power to compel Tarah with her red eyes. She was unsure if compelling would work on her but Mineah was desperate. She would rather take a chance and get more information than not even try.
There was a terse silence while they held their eye contact as if subtly challenging the other to blink first.
Tarah’s lips curved into a meek smile as she revealed, "Your Majesty, I’m sorry to say this but compulsion doesn’t work on me."
Mineah’s face reddened and her shoulders slumped. Her worry hung over her like a dark cloud. Desperation laced Mineah’s voice as she confessed, "I’m sorry, Tarah, but I feel like something is going on behind my back. I can’t help being worried..."
"I’m not sure if this will help put you at ease... But I saw a vision of King Ezekiel attending the Global Summit for all kingdoms. In that event, you and His Majesty are present too, both of you looking happy together. I even saw a celebration in Valcrez Camp there. It seemed like a grand function organized for you two," Tarah informed with a reassuring smile.
With her lips slightly pursed, Mineah released a heavy sigh. Right, all of Tarah’s visions were turning out to be true. She should stop worrying. If Tarah saw them together in that future, then surely nothing bad would happen to Nikolai and Ezekiel during their mission.
Tarah stood up to sit beside her. She grasped her hand and said, "Also, if so-"
Tarah’s words were left unfinished as her grip on Mineah’s hand tightened and her eyes turned white.
Tarah was having another vision right now... And in that breathless moment, Mineah could only hope that it was something positive. Anxious seconds ticked by as she waited for Tarah to unveil the vision’s message. When Tarah opened her eyes, they had returned to their usual icy blue, but she was covered in a sheen of sweat.
"Are you alright?" Mineah asked as she quickly handed her a glass of water.
Tarah put the glass aside and, with a grave expression, began to elaborate on her revelation. "It was quite unclear before but the vision is starting to make more sense now. I think I finally know what it meant when it showed you stabbing King Nikolai’s heart to stop the curse. It’s indeed him but it’s not his heart that you need to stab with the divine dagger..."
Mineah’s eyes widened as she asked, "Please explain..."
