Chapter 62: Chapter 62 Dad, Are You Really Good at Fighting?

Bo Yunshen woke up again, daylight had broken.

Despite having slept late the previous night, his biological clock, honed over many years, still made him open his eyes.

Because of staying up, a stabbing pain throbbed in the man’s head. He lay in bed for five minutes, and after a bit of relief, he finally got up to wash and freshen up.

Just as Bo Yunshen started downstairs, he heard noises coming from the kitchen. The man paused in his steps, licked his lips, and buttoned the cufflinks on his sleeve.

Was Qin Yan awake?

Planning to make him breakfast as thanks for saving her life last night?

Or was it just an excuse to linger in Hai Wan Xiang Xie a bit longer?

No matter how Bo Yunshen thought about it, he felt the latter possibility was the greater. After all, when he rescued Qin Yan from the Night Club yesterday, all she could mutter was his name.

With a thought, the man strode toward the kitchen. Hai Wan Xiang Xie was his personal domain, and since Qin Yan was awake, she should take her bastard child and roll out of his territory!

So as not to affect his mood!

As soon as Bo Yunshen reached the kitchen doorway, he saw the small figure bustling about inside.

There was a little stool placed on the ground, and Qin Yinyin stood on it, leaning forward, carefully dishing out the freshly prepared food onto a plate.

Inheriting Qin Yan’s good genes, sunlight refracted in, and Bo Yunshen could even see Qin Yinyin’s long eyelashes quiver in the air, like the fluttering wings of a butterfly about to take flight.

Her mouth, pink as cherries, was pressed tightly together, and Bo Yunshen oddly saw a trace of earnestness on her face.

"Wow!"

No matter how annoying that dead woman Qin Yan was, she sure had a way with teaching her child!

She had that flair, very skilled at currying favor and winning people’s hearts!

Bo Yunshen sneered coldly. Qin Yinyin, hearing the sound, turned her head to see him, her eyes brightening, her dark pupils shimmering with a deep luster.

Especially piercing.

"Daddy, you’re up!"

Bo Yunshen hummed with neither warmth nor chill, "What time is it? I’m not like some people, no different from pigs, only knowing how to sleep!"

He spoke with unbounded irony, but Qin Yinyin had no idea that Bo Yunshen was mocking her mother.

Qin Yinyin, holding the plate of food, stepped down from the stool, tilted her head, and said quietly, "Daddy, I’ve made breakfast, let’s eat!"

Bo Yunshen’s body stiffened.

Last night he had been so annoyed with Qin Yinyin that he stubbornly refused to eat her cooking, and by nine o’clock, hunger pained his stomach.

Frowning, he thought, Hai Wan Xiang Xie was his home; why should he have to make himself uncomfortable?

With this thought, the man’s body relaxed a bit. He followed Qin Yinyin, who was carrying the plate, to the dining table.

She busily brought everything to the table, while Bo Yunshen awkwardly touched his prominent nose.

A three-year-old child, walking back and forth between the dining table and the kitchen—if people often visited Hai Wan Xiang Xie, wouldn’t they think he was mistreating Qin Yan’s daughter?

He was startled for a moment when Qin Yinyin had already moved a stool over, standing beside him with a spoon, scooping him a bowl of fragrant and silky silver ear and lotus seed porridge.

Due to Qin Yinyin using most of the ingredients while cooking last night, there weren’t many items on the table, just two soft-boiled eggs, a shrimp rice ball, and a countryside egg pancake.

It was simple and clearly prepared for just the two of them.

Bo Yunshen furrowed his brows, glancing over with a flickering gaze that landed on Qin Yinyin’s face, carrying strands of scrutiny and suspicion.

Had the bastard not gone to his bedroom this morning? Didn’t she know that Qin Yan was also at Hai Wan Xiang Xie?

As this thought arose, the furrows between the man’s brows deepened slightly.

What did it matter to him if she hadn’t prepared breakfast for Qin Yan? He wasn’t the one who was hungry!

He pressed his lips together, stirring the soup in the bowl with a spoon, the aroma wafting around.

After Qin Yinyin sat down next to him, she picked up a rice ball with her chopsticks and placed it on the empty dish in front of him, "Dad, what time did you come back last night? Was it you who carried Yinyin to bed to sleep?"

Bo Yunshen was silent, the man taking a bite of the rice ball. The soft stickiness of the rice mixed with the fresh taste of shrimp swept over Bo Yunshen’s taste buds, pleasantly sweet and salty.

A breakfast made by a three-year-old, and he couldn’t find a single fault!

Bo Yunshen’s face darkened for a moment. The atmosphere at the dining table was somewhat silent. Qin Yinyin didn’t mind Bo Yunshen ignoring her; on the contrary, it was the first time she’d seen her father in three years. Even though he paid her no heed, nothing could stop her incessant desire to talk to Bo Yunshen!

Directly across from the dining table on the wall hung several photographs of Bo Yunshen participating in fencing and boxing matches, including some of him receiving awards, mixed in with a couple of shots of him leaving his opponents bruised and swollen.

Qin Yinyin had seen them during dinner the night before, and she pursed her tender lips, asking with innocent eyes, "Dad, are you really good at fighting?"

Seeing Qin Yinyin frequently glancing at the wall, the man also turned to look and his gaze grew deeper upon seeing the photos on the wall.

Aunt Chen had hung those photos. Located in a remote area, Hai Wan Xiang Xie was a detached villa with few neighbors around. Concerned about the villa’s security system not being secure enough, Aunt Chen dug out these photos of his and hung them in such a conspicuous spot.

To this, Bo Yunshen scoffed.

Other than providing a bit of psychological security, what good were they?

He wasn’t afraid!

However, he was too lazy to concern himself with such matters and hadn’t expected Qin Yinyin to ask the same question twice.

Bo Yunshen was always indifferent and self-contained. If someone else had asked this sort of question, he would have just shrugged it off, but now, the one asking him was Qin Yan’s daughter!

The man’s eyes involuntarily deepened, recalling the little one’s envious look at his trophies the night before, and almost by some devilish impulse, Bo Yunshen replied, "Could I win awards if I wasn’t good?"

After speaking, he had a slight headache, not for any other reason than that his words carried a hint of boasting, which sounded very unlike Bo Yunshen.

His body tensed a moment. Was he being neurotic? He actually answered a three-year-old child’s question with such conceit.

Yet Qin Yinyin’s questioning was not over. Seeing that he had responded, she excitedly continued, "Then did you learn boxing to fight bad guys?"

Probably every child harbors a fairy tale in their heart, believing their father to be invincible, a sweeping hero.

Impatience colored Bo Yunshen’s narrow, dark eyes. He lowered his voice, the mellow timbre laced with a hint of coldness, "To hit those I find disagreeable."

Those eight short words halted Qin Yinyin’s chopstick-holding hand.
