Chapter 40: Chapter 40 Who Wants to Quarrel at the Head of the Bed and Make Up at the End of It with Qin Yan?
The little guy asked his question, his face coming closer, his large, black eyes full of innocent doubt and curiosity.
A pain shot through Bo Yunshen’s stomach, his face darkened, and a fire suddenly flared up in his heart.
It was anger!
He was furious!
But why should he admit it in front of this little brat? What if she turned around and told Qin Yan, and that woman presumptuously thought she mattered to him?
Bo Yunshen’s face turned ashen due to the stomachache, its hue grim and forbidding.
His silence didn’t create any distance between him and Qin Yinyin, but instead made Qin Yinyin feel as if Bo Yunshen was tacitly agreeing.
"Dad, my deskmate, little fatty, said that couples fight at the head of the bed but make up at the foot of the bed. It’s not worth it to hurt yourself by being so angry."
Bo Yunshen’s face, upon hearing Qin Yinyin’s words, instantly turned as dark as the outside night, blending with it.
He and Qin Yan, clearly distinct for three years, could they be referred to with such intimate terms? And the nonsense little fatty told her, crap!
It must be that damn woman Qin Yan teaching her!
"Who said I’m angry? Who wants to make up with Qin Yan after fighting?!" Bo Yunshen said annoyed, not satisfied with his vent, "Your mom and I have no relationship whatsoever!"
Bo Yunshen reached out, picked up the porridge Qin Yinyin had placed on the bedside table, and took a big gulp.
The temperature of the porridge was just right, rich and thick in flavor, melting upon entering his stomach, which warmed up a bit and the pain eased slightly.
Bo Yunshen raised his eyebrows, originally thinking if the kid made porridge, it would be good enough to eat, but he didn’t expect it to taste quite nice.
He half-lifted his long eyelashes, glancing at Qin Yinyin.
Qin Yan was lucky to have such a considerate daughter who solved her problems for her!
Since Qin Yan was willing to send her precious daughter to cook for him, why should he be courteous?
In less than a minute, Bo Yunshen had gulped down all the porridge, his stomach feeling less empty and the pain gradually decreasing, his gloomy expression finally scattering.
As soon as Bo Yunshen picked up the porridge, Qin Yinyin’s eyes lit up.
Her face beamed with happiness, her smile bright and clean, Bo Yunshen glanced at her, and the little guy blinked her large eyes and turned her head.
The man’s expression turned dark, and he scoffed coldly in his heart!
Qin Yinyin saw Bo Yunshen’s sour mood, but it didn’t affect her happiness.
She chuckled quietly and looked around Bo Yunshen’s room, her eyes clear, and the room appeared novel to her.
She thought, in Bo Yunshen’s room, the black was black, the white was white, the gray was gray, it was quite monochrome, yet a glittering gold cup on a table next to the wardrobe looked very unusual.
Qin Yinyin walked over with her little short legs, thud, thud, thud. Upon getting closer, she realized what she had seen was a trophy.
And from this close distance, the true appearance of everything on the table was revealed.
Trophies and medals galore, Qin Yinyin had only seen a few trophies in kindergarten.
But Bo Yunshen’s table was filled with them.
"Dad? Are all these trophies yours?"
Qin Yinyin looked up at Bo Yunshen with admiration, the man was still annoyed at himself for eating the porridge Qin Yinyin had cooked, but now meeting Qin Yinyin’s gaze, the girl seemed as if she was showing him vulnerability.
A feeling of undeserved pride surged within Bo Yunshen, hard to ignore.
The man cleared his throat and replied coldly, "Hmm."
Qin Yinyin’s enthusiasm increased as she held the biggest one and asked Bo Yunshen, "Daddy, Daddy, how did you win this trophy?"
Bo Yunshen glanced at it and said, "There are so many trophies, how could I possibly remember clearly? Isn’t there a certificate on it? Didn’t your mother teach you how to read?"
Qin Yinyin’s gaze once again shifted to the table full of trophies. Her admiration deepened as she said, "I’ve wanted that trophy from the kindergarten sports competition for a long time, but I never got it."
"Dad, you’re so amazing to have won so many trophies."
Qin Yinyin fondly touched one trophy and then moved her hand to another.
Bo Yunshen’s lips slightly curled, and the last bit of unease in his heart was swept away.
He never imagined that it was those trophies, which he always felt indifferent about, that would redeem him in front of Qin Yinyin!
The man squinted his profound eyes as the shattered light beside him seemed to burst into his pupils, incredibly dazzling!
Qin Yinyin was enamored with the trophies. She flipped the certificate every time she touched one. The expression on her little face was full of astonishment, and she mumbled something with her lips pursed. Her voice was low, but Bo Yunshen could vaguely hear a sentence or two.
"Dad even knows fencing, plays the piano... What is this character?"
Bo Yunshen’s brows slightly raised, revealing a hint of light pride.
His range of hobbies was extensive, and he even had a particular quirk. He disliked leaving things half-done. As long as he liked something, he had to do it perfectly and to the best of his ability.
The Bo Family had a room specifically for displaying his achievements from childhood until now. What about the table? It was just the tip of the iceberg!
It was just that when he moved out to live alone, the cleaning lady thought she should pack some for him, which he found redundant. He had sorted them all out and piled them up in a bedroom where no one was allowed.
Bo Yunshen’s lips twitched slightly, occasionally hearing a compliment or two from Qin Yinyin. He couldn’t help feeling pleased.
"Dad, can you give me one? I only want one trophy!"
Qin Yinyin suddenly turned back to face Bo Yunshen, who was sitting on the bed. Her eyes were moist, and her tone was full of hope.
Bo Yunshen frowned, his narrow eyes gleaming with a profound light, making Qin Yinyin a bit nervous.
"Dad?"
Bo Yunshen spoke solemnly, "What, you’re only three years old and already want to learn the art of getting something for nothing? You want to get a trophy without putting in any effort?"
His voice was very stern. Qin Yinyin reluctantly put the trophy down, her tone serious and firm, "When I grow up, I will be as impressive as Dad and will win just as many trophies."
Bo Yunshen looked into Qin Yinyin’s gleaming eyes and rubbed his head.
Damn!
Hell!
How could he have the spare time to help that damn woman Qin Yan educate her child?
It must have been because bastard’s food arrived just in time, saving his stomach, which made him meddle more than he should.
Bo Yunshen’s sharp eyes looked in Qin Yinyin’s direction as she reluctantly put down the trophy in her hand and turned back to Bo Yunshen.
She was just about to speak when her gaze suddenly stopped on a photo frame by Bo Yunshen’s bedside.
Bo Yunshen followed Qin Yinyin’s gaze and his pupils shrank sharply.
The photo frame contained a picture of Bo Yunshen and Lin Man, a picture from the past.
