Chapter 39: Chapter 39 Don’t Bother Me!

As soon as Bo Yunshen stepped out of the kitchen, he strode to the genuine leather sofa in the living room, grabbed his custom-made suit, and headed upstairs.

He had only taken two or three steps when Qin Yinyin chased after him. Climbing the stairs was difficult for the three-year-old child. She stretched out her plump little hands, tightly grasping Bo Yunshen’s pant leg, and asked as she followed him upstairs,

"Daddy, when is mommy coming back? Do you know where she has gone? I haven’t seen her for two days now."

Bo Yunshen had no desire to respond.

If he knew where Qin Yan was, he would have shoved this annoying child into Qin Yan’s arms a long time ago, okay?

He didn’t know where she was enjoying her carefree life, utterly unaware of her family responsibilities, as if she, Qin Yan, had all the leisure time in the world.

When she crashed into his car back then, her words were all high and mighty, and now isn’t she also neglecting Qin Yinyin?

Pretentious!

"Daddy, I want to see my mommy. Can you take me to find my mommy?"

Qin Yinyin’s voice was tinged with a hint of pitifulness. Bo Yunshen’s pace didn’t slow in the slightest as he said, "I don’t know, don’t bother me!"

The man exerted force on his legs, freeing his pants from Qin Yinyin’s grasp, then strode through the door, slamming it shut powerfully before Qin Yinyin could enter.

Once separated by the door, Bo Yunshen finally found a moment of silence just for himself at Hai Wan Xiang Xie.

Bo Yunshen seldom came home so early, so he threw himself onto the kingsize bed, pulled out a few scripts that the Bo Group found interesting before, and began reading them propped against the headboard.

The dim light, tinged with warm hues, cast his face in a more striking and captivating light.

At nine o’clock, Bo Yunshen suddenly tossed aside the script in his hand and rubbed his stomach, which had been grumbling with hunger.

His eating habits had been irregular before, and he suffered from chronic gastritis, which caused pain whenever he was hungry.

He had hurried to the police station to pick up Qin Yinyin over lunch and hadn’t eaten much; now, a searing pain rose in his stomach, making Bo Yunshen feel unbearable misery.

Bo Yunshen endured the pain and swept his hand across the files on his bedside, knocking them to the floor.

The pain in his stomach spread, and several traces of irritability welled up in Bo Yunshen’s chest.

Just then, someone knocked on the door of Bo Yunshen’s room.

In the vast villa, besides him, there was only Qin Yinyin. With his stomach aching, Bo Yunshen was even less in the mood to deal with the little girl outside.

"Daddy, are you asleep? Can I come in?"

Qin Yinyin’s voice held a barely detectable tremble. Bo Yunshen narrowed his eyes and darkened his tone, saying, "I’ve told you many times, I don’t know where your mom is. Can’t you understand human speech?"

"If you want to find your mom, don’t ask me, you can go find her yourself."

Talking caused a sudden sharp pain in Bo Yunshen’s stomach, and a fierce expression flickered across his face.

Right now, he wanted to find Qin Yan even more than Qin Yinyin did!

Qin Yinyin’s soft, sweet voice echoed outside the room again, "Daddy, don’t be mad anymore. I won’t ask about Mommy anymore."

That easy?

Bo Yunshen’s anger abated slightly, but he still harbored some doubts.

A three-year-old child, not looking for her mother, was that even possible?

He stayed silent, actually wanting to see how long Qin Yinyin could endure before she came back to him asking for her mother.

This day had been hard on him, causing him stomach pain and leaving him with no appetite for food. It was obvious that it was Qin Yan’s influence—always making things difficult for him!

There was silence in the room. Qin Yinyin stood outside the door for a while, and Bo Yunshen still didn’t speak. The little one simply knocked on the door again, "Dad, if you don’t speak, does that mean I can come in?"

"The villa is too big, and it’s too dark outside, I’m scared all by myself."

After hearing this, Bo Yunshen changed his position on the bed, letting out a disdainful snort.

It was unexpected, Qin Yan, a woman who feared neither heaven nor earth and even dared to blackmail his parents, had raised Qin Yinyin, a child as timid as a mouse!

Still scared? He thought she practically treated Hai Wan Xiang Xie like her own home.

Bo Yunshen still didn’t speak, and Qin Yinyin waited for about a minute or two before she twisted the door handle and walked in.

A beautiful wall lamp was turned on inside, making Qin Yinyin’s round little face look even more adorable. Bo Yunshen’s gaze, however, fell on the bowl held in her chubby little hands.

With her approach, the air filled with the rich aroma of millet porridge.

It was this very scent of rice that made Bo Yunshen’s already empty stomach ache even more painfully. The man gritted his teeth, his face turning ashen with pain.

He squinted his eyes and surveyed Qin Yinyin up and down; no matter how he looked at it, she seemed like she was coming to settle scores—torturing him!

Qin Yinyin was not afraid of Bo Yunshen’s gaze and placed the bowl on the nightstand beside Bo Yunshen’s bed. She said, "Dad, you ate very little tonight, you must be hungry. I made you some millet porridge. Dad, please eat a little?"

Bo Yunshen’s deep, inscrutable gaze fell on the table beside him, where the largest bowl he had ever seen at Hai Wan Xiang Xie sat, about an inch bigger than a normal bowl.

It was filled to the brim with millet porridge, from which a delicate wisp of steam spread, carrying a tempting fragrance.

It was hard to imagine how Qin Yinyin managed to carry the bowl up from downstairs.

The man looked towards the speaking child; she had her big, watery eyes wide open, her clear pupils staring straight at him, her little hands intermittently rubbing her wrists.

Bo Yunshen’s gaze darkened. Was this also taught by Qin Yan?

Or was it Qin Yinyin’s own impromptu performance?

Trying to win him over with just a bowl of millet porridge? Did they see him as that cheap in the eyes of her and her mother?

Bo Yunshen’s smile shattered, his lips seemed to encase numerous chips of ice, chillingly cold, "I’m not hungry! Stop bothering me!"

"Dad?"

Qin Yinyin’s tiny body leaned on the edge of the bed, looking at him with confusion. Her eyes were particularly pretty, focusing so innocently and cleverly on him, inadvertently touching his heart.

After all, it took quite some effort for this little kid to bring it up here, wouldn’t it be somewhat unkind not to drink it at all?

What could a three-year-old child know? As if missing a beat, even taking his scolding as a compliment.

Ha...

Bo Yunshen’s stomach ached again, so empty that even his heart felt hollow, with a needle-like pain spreading throughout his belly.

Wasn’t Qin Yinyin’s cooking also using his resources?! It wasn’t like he forced Qin Yinyin to cook; he simply did not believe that eating a bite today would allow Qin Yan to impose on him tomorrow?

Because of Qin Yan, to spite Qin Yinyin and not eat, if Qin Yan ever found out, who knows how she would mock or laugh at him?

Bo Yunshen truly found no reason to continue tormenting himself by not eating.

Seeing that Bo Yunshen still showed no signs of movement, Qin Yinyin widened her eyes and leaned in to ask,

"Dad, are you not eating the food I made because you are angry with mom?"
