Chapter 353: Chapter 353 Director Qin is Very Generous

"I’ll take you home."

"No need!"

"It’s so late, I don’t feel comfortable with you going back alone!"

"Manman, rest assured. Director Qin is quite magnanimous. He wouldn’t take such a trivial matter to heart!"

Qin Yan made no reply.

Lin Man stood up, and Qin Yan sat down on the chair by the hospital room. The woman gently lowered her eyelashes. The light above her head illuminated Qin Yan’s face, casting an enchanting glow akin to the hues of a sunset—stunning and timeless.

"No need, Yunshen. It’s not even dark yet. The doctors here just finished their shifts, and the hospital is in the city center—it’s very safe."

"Spend some time talking with Yanyan. I’ll head out first and visit again tomorrow."

Without giving Bo Yunshen a chance to respond, Lin Man grabbed her bag and left the hospital room.

She didn’t move slowly; the hem of her crimson dress traced a graceful arc in the air.

Exiting the room, Lin Man caught sight of Qin Mingchuan. The man was tall and strikingly handsome, seemingly lost in thought, his gaze lowered. Lin Man followed behind him, and it wasn’t until they reached the hospital entrance that Qin Mingchuan noticed her.

Qin Mingchuan, known for his impulsive and single-minded nature, blurted out, "Why are you following me?"

Lin Man laughed gently, her expression soft and her eyes clear. "Young Mr. Qin, the hospital entrance is here. I’m just leaving. At most, we’re going the same way. Following you? Isn’t that a bit of an exaggeration?"

Qin Mingchuan paused, recalling today’s hospital room interactions between Lin Man and Qin Yan. He couldn’t trust Lin Man’s claim that she and Qin Yan were merely friends.

He shot her a glare and headed straight toward the underground parking lot.

Lin Man called out to him softly, "Young Mr. Qin, I don’t have a car. Would you mind giving me a lift?"

"We’re not headed the same way."

"You don’t even know where I’m going—isn’t it too soon to say that?"

Qin Mingchuan chuckled. "Miss Lin, aren’t you shameless? Can’t you tell I’m rejecting you?"

Lin Man’s eyes instantly reddened. She bit her lip, saying nothing as she walked toward the hospital exit. The summer sky remained bright late into the evening, the sun still hanging in the air. Her shadow stretched long, evoking an inexplicable loneliness.

Qin Mingchuan pursed his lips. Lin Man hardly seemed like someone with bad intentions. Had his words earlier been too harsh?

After a moment’s hesitation, Qin Mingchuan retrieved his car and followed Lin Man. She walked with her head down along the landscaped path, tears welling at her eyes to the point of heartbreak.

Frowning, Qin Mingchuan lowered his car window and said softly, "Fine. Where are you headed? I’ll take you."

Lin Man said nothing and made no move to get in the car. Tears shimmered at the corners of her eyes as her pace quickened.

"If you don’t get in now, I’m leaving."

Lin Man: "..."

Qin Mingchuan took a deep breath, frustration evident in his tone. "Fine, I apologize. That was wrong of me earlier."

"But—how does a single, unmarried woman like you justify cozying up between my sister and my brother-in-law? Have you no shame?"

"I barely called you out, and you can’t handle it. What about my sister, then?"

Lin Man let out a cold laugh, her eyes sharp and frigid.

"Your sister, your sister. Does Yanyan even acknowledge you?"

"Young Mr. Qin, you’re standing here fighting Yanyan’s battles—does she even know?"

"I heard you’ve been studying abroad and just returned recently, right? Let me give you some advice: get your facts straight. At the very least, figure out who’s meddling in whose relationship."

With that, Lin Man hailed a taxi, got in, and left.

Qin Mingchuan: "..."

Could it be his sister who was interfering in someone else’s relationship?

Qin Yan remained unaware of this minor drama.

After Lin Man and Qin Mingchuan left, the doctor entered the hospital room to remove Bo Yunshen’s IV catheter.

Bo Yunshen furrowed his brow.

The catheter provided pain relief, and when the doctor appeared, Bo Yunshen glanced at Qin Yan first.

She had gone to the doctor’s office earlier, and now someone had come to remove the catheter. Bo Yunshen strongly suspected this was Qin Yan’s idea.

And besides, he had caught parts of the conversation between the doctor and Qin Yan. He held reservations about Qin Yan’s character.

Once the catheter was removed, Bo Yunshen lay sideways on the bed.

Qin Yan, with a faint expression, sat in the chair peeling an orange for Qin Yinyin while overseeing the child’s homework.

She was exceptionally well-behaved—especially in the absence of Lin Man. Her air of hostility seemed much lighter as she sat there, obedient and tender.

Qin Yinyin took a bite of the orange, prompting Bo Yunshen’s gaze to deepen.

"Qin Yan, you did this on purpose?"

Qin Yan looked puzzled. "Did what on purpose?"

"Your daughter just pinched my injured spot earlier—did you tell her to do it?"

Bo Yunshen’s eyebrows clouded with icy disdain.

He assumed Qin Yan would deny it.

Instead, she nodded without hesitation. "If Mr. Bo thinks that’s the case, then it is."

"You!"

He narrowed his eyes.

She admitted it?

Of course. Qin Yinyin, being just a child, couldn’t possibly have pinpointed the exact spot on his waist where he was injured. To suggest it had no connection to Qin Yan? He wouldn’t buy it!

"My mother asked you to take care of me, but all you do is push me off onto Manman or have your daughter pinch me. Is this how you care for me?"

Qin Yan looked up with a smile. "Are you planning to complain about me to Mom?"

As if she were him.

Running to complain to the elders at the slightest grievance?

Bo Yunshen twitched a vein on his temple, then tossed her a tube of ointment. "Apply the medicine!"

Qin Yan took the tube.

She glanced at the label—turns out it was the very ointment she had bought.

Without a word, Qin Yan opened the drawer. She recalled there was another tube of scar-treatment ointment inside that could be used along with it.

Finding the ointment, Qin Yan softly said, "Take off your shirt."

Bo Yunshen raised an eyebrow.

Applying medicine—and she wanted him to take his shirt off? Was she taking the opportunity to get a cheap thrill?

Bo Yunshen paused for a moment but ultimately complied, removing his shirt.

His physique was well-proportioned, his abdominal muscles lean yet defined. Qin Yan, however, showed no interest in admiring it.

Bo Yunshen’s injuries were extensive. His arm still bore scars from a previous car accident, with scabs forming. The burns on his waist and abdomen were severe, the flesh mottled and raw.

The whip marks and burns crisscrossing his back tightened his skin painfully. Qin Yan’s chest constricted at the sight after just a glance.

She had only treated the front side of his wounds last time and hadn’t seen his back.

Qin Yan’s gaze darkened. These scars were a testament to Bo Yunshen’s ordeal over a mere earring.

Noticing her hesitation, Bo Yunshen spoke impatiently, "What’s wrong? Seeing my injuries—does it satisfy you, Director Qin?"

"Does it fill you with joy, make you want to announce it to the world with fanfare?"

The dim light in Qin Yan’s eyes suddenly vanished. She drew out a couple of cotton swabs, squeezed some ointment onto them, and pressed them directly onto his wounds as he was speaking.
