Chapter 309: Chapter 309: Yunshen, This is the Ladies’ Room

Bo Yunshen’s gaze burned as it fixed on Qin Yan, the smile on his lips inexplicably malicious, as if issuing a challenge!

Qin Yan’s smile faltered slightly, and even the atmosphere in the private room turned uncanny, so silent you could hear a pin drop.

She knew that if she stayed here any longer, this celebration dinner was bound to end in disaster!

Qin Yan found it almost humorous; Bo Yunshen must have been pretty pleased to see Lin Man earlier, only to have her ruin his mood.

She didn’t even need to guess to know what Bo Yunshen might be thinking about her at this moment!

Awkwardly, Qin Yan stood in the vast private room, unable to think of anything to say to ease the tension.

Just then, the door to the private room swung open, and Lu Yi stepped in, dressed in a pristine white suit.

Unbothered by anyone else, he walked straight to Qin Yan, pinched the bridge of his nose, and smiled softly as he said, "Sorry, I’m late."

Qin Yan let out a breath of relief, "Chao He Hotel is so far from here. Why did you return?"

"So what? It’s the company’s celebration dinner. No matter how far, I’ve got to make an appearance."

As he spoke, he bent forward, poured himself a glass of juice, and downed it in one gulp.

He had a refined demeanor, warm and gentle like jade. Even his series of actions carried a natural elegance, nothing coarse. After drinking, he turned to Qin Yan and continued, "Qin Yan, there’s something I’d like to discuss with you."

Qin Yan nodded, leaned down to pick up a file Xiao Shen had brought over, and gestured to a corner of the private room, speaking softly, "Let’s talk over there!"

Lu Yi’s arrival reignited the atmosphere in the private room. Bo Yunshen’s broad shoulders sank deeper into the soft chair behind him.

Traveling so far to attend a company-hosted celebration dinner, Bo Yunshen couldn’t help but suspect Lu Yi’s motives.

After Lu Yi entered, Qin Yan practically clung to him. As expected, she couldn’t live without a man!

His face remained expressionless as the vibrant, colorful lights spilled over it, casting a vaguely shadowy hue.

After a while in the private room, Xu Lin stepped out for a few minutes. When he returned, a female manager from Bai Le Men was standing behind him.

"Colleagues, the food upstairs is ready. Let’s head up to dine."

"Once we’ve eaten and drunk our fill, we’ll proceed to the next part of the celebration!"

People began filtering out one by one, and Qin Yan finished signing her name on one of the files before standing up.

Lu Yi took the file from her hand and asked, "Read through everything?"

Qin Yan nodded. Lu Yi skimmed through it quickly. Among the documents Xiao Shen had brought for Qin Yan, many were related to Chao He Hotel.

Lu Yi sorted out a few unrelated to the public relations department, placing them on top, and spoke quietly: "I’ll take the ones concerning Chao He back with me tonight; the rest, when we get upstairs, I’ll hand over to Xiao Shen for you."

He was always a gentleman. Though they had worked together for three years, Qin Yan and Bo Yunshen had long since developed impeccable, seamless rapport.

She smiled slightly, nodding as the two walked side-by-side out of the private room and headed upstairs together.

Outside the room, Qin Yan said, "Lu Yi, I need to use the restroom. You go ahead!"

Lu Yi nodded and took the elevator upstairs.

Qin Yan hung her bag over her shoulder. After signing several documents earlier, her wrist started to ache faintly again. She rubbed at her wrist as she entered the restroom.

She had drunk quite a bit of juice. After finishing in the stall, she stepped out, only to feel a pair of large hands reach out, gripping her shoulders and pulling her back into the stall, pinning her against the cold, hard wall.

Qin Yan let out a startled cry, her eyes brimming with unmistakable fear.

The pungent scent of alcohol, accompanied by the familiar smell of the man’s body, filled the air as she stared wide-eyed, locking gazes with those dark pupils.

"Yun... Yunshen?"

Qin Yan exhaled, but her rapid heartbeat refused to calm, pounding wildly.

"Yunshen, this is the women’s restroom."

The smell of alcohol from Bo Yunshen was overwhelming. He leaned closer, shrinking the space between them, his breath reeking of liquor pressing relentlessly against her.

Qin Yan licked her lips, silently guessing how much Bo Yunshen must have drunk to end up mistaking the restroom.

While her mind strayed, Bo Yunshen leaned even closer, his tall figure blocking out the overhead light. In the cramped space where they stood, the presence of two people made it unbearably tight.

Qin Yan’s back pressed uncomfortably against the wall, the sharp discomfort of it making her shift uneasily, as she pushed at Bo Yunshen lightly.

"Yunshen?"

The man’s intense gaze wavered, then locked upon her face. A smile tugged faintly at his lips—lips damp from the alcohol, carrying its fragrance, alluring but strangely menacing.

"Mrs. Bo, the child you brought back to the Bo Family—who’s the father?"

Qin Yan’s body froze instantly at Bo Yunshen’s piercing question.

Her lashes fluttered, trembling like restless butterfly wings. She stared at Bo Yunshen: "You cornered me here just to ask that?"

"Do you care?"

Bo Yunshen’s voice was cold as he stroked his jaw. His sharply defined face betrayed faint ridicule, entirely unapologetic.

Care?

Qin Yan’s penchant for flattering herself—does she truly not know how to reign it in?

The one he loved, the one he desired to marry into the Bo Family as Mrs. Bo, was Manman!

It was never Qin Yan!

Besides, he absolutely cared. Judging by the old man’s growing favoritism toward Qin Yinyin, if this trend continued, the likelihood of that brat being officially recognized into the Bo Family tree was dangerously high!

As Bo Yunshen, he had absolutely no intention of raising someone else’s child!

"Is it Lu Yi? My dear cousin?" Bo Yunshen chuckled lightly. "That little brat’s eyes indeed bear a slight resemblance to my cousin’s."

"So, Qin Yinyin is my niece?"

"You let my niece call me ’Daddy’? Such a rotten idea could only come from Director Qin!"

Bo Yunshen’s body pressed against hers like a wall impermeable to escape. His breath was potent, every single word he spoke warm and jarring as it landed on Qin Yan’s skin, stirring unspoken intimacy.

Especially since their discussion revolved around this sensitive subject!

Qin Yan took a deep breath. The difference in strength between men and women rendered her unable to budge Bo Yunshen even slightly. She could only speak softly in self-defense:

"Yunshen, Yinyin isn’t Lu Yi’s child!"

"Between Lu Yi and me, apart from a professional relationship, there’s no other entanglement."

No entanglement?

Did she think he was blind to her constant flirting with Lu Yi?

Or was it that she frequently charmed those with whom she claimed to have "no entanglement"?

Three years of marriage, and Qin Yan couldn’t seem to suppress her restlessness, her inability to resist chasing after her desires?

Bo Yunshen scoffed, his eyes flashing momentarily with anger. She turned her head aside, strands of her dark hair cascading gently across her face, making her pale complexion appear even more delicate.

Even the faint scar on her right cheek, where it had scabbed over, seemed sultry under the circumstances.

Their breaths intertwined. Qin Yan’s distinct fragrance enveloped him so completely it was impossible to ignore, even if he tried.
