Chapter 853: Unwilling to Wrong Her
Chapter 853: Chapter 853: Unwilling to Wrong Her
"After this incident, it won’t happen again, we won’t be apart anymore," Bo Jingyan said, firmly holding her hand and assuring her.
His grip was so tight that it hurt Xia Qingtian’s hand, but she did not pull away.
While they were talking, their number was called.
Xia Qingtian and Bo Jingyan immediately took their completed forms to the counter to process their marriage registration.
When they emerged from the marriage registration office, they had two red marriage certificates in their hands.
Xia Qingtian carefully stored the marriage certificates and then looked at Bo Jingyan, "So, do we have any other plans next?"
"No other plans for today," Bo Jingyan said as he opened the car door for her, pressing his hand on the top of the door to prevent her from bumping her head as she got in.
Xia Qingtian got into the car and buckled her seatbelt.
Once Bo Jingyan sat down in the car, she immediately asked, "What do you mean by ’no other plans for today’? Do you have some big moves planned?"
Bo Jingyan chuckled lightly and then started the car.
As he drove, he said, "Moving forward, of course, we’ll take wedding photos and hold a grand wedding ceremony. I want to tell everyone that you, Xia Qingtian, are going to become Mrs. Bo again."
Before Xia Qingtian could respond, he continued reflectively, "Perhaps after all we’ve been through this time, even reaching the point of divorce, Heaven thinks I owe you and has given me a chance to make it up to you."
His words puzzled Xia Qingtian.
"What do you owe me?" she asked, confused.
She felt their final resort to divorce was because they hadn’t trusted each other enough previously, together with many misunderstandings, the interference from Bo’s mother, and meddling from Shi Qian.
It wasn’t just Bo Jingyan’s fault; she was also to blame.
But from start to finish, Bo Jingyan hadn’t owed her anything.
Bo Jingyan turned and looked at her, saying, "Of course, I owe you a wedding and a sweet honeymoon. When we got married before, there was no emotional foundation, and you went abroad right after getting our marriage certificate and stayed overseas for three years. We missed giving you the wedding and honeymoon you deserved. Now that we are re-registering our marriage, it’s a perfect opportunity to make up for the wedding and honeymoon we should have had three years ago."
"I never knew you were so thoughtful," Xia Qingtian said, somewhat surprised.
Men are generally different from women; most men are rather careless, and only women care more about the ceremonial aspects of weddings.
She was a woman who also took ceremonies seriously but wasn’t demanding about them.
If there was a ceremony, that was great, but if not, she wouldn’t insist, nor dwell on it.
Now that Bo Jingyan had brought it up voluntarily and was willing to fulfill it for her, she felt both cared for and touched.
"Because I love you, I don’t want to aggrieve you," Bo Jingyan said.
Xia Qingtian couldn’t help but show a sweet smile.
While driving, Bo Jingyan asked her, "Next, should we return to the estate or go out for fun?"
"I want neither!" Xia Qingtian shook her head and said somewhat guiltily under Bo Jingyan’s puzzled gaze, "I want to stop by the company."
She had been injured in the kidnapping orchestrated by Shi Qian and Shen Junru and had stayed in the hospital, under Bo Jingyan’s insistence, until even the superficial skin injuries had healed before being allowed to leave. During her hospital stay, Bo Jingyan was very concerned about her, not letting her overwork since she had only suffered superficial injuries.
As such, she hadn’t dealt with company matters during her more than ten days in the hospital.
Fortunately, the entertainment company was now on the right track; otherwise, if she hadn’t attended to company matters for over ten days, the company would certainly have been in chaos.
Now that she was finally discharged, she definitely needed to show her face at the company and handle some urgent work.
Hearing that she wanted to go to the company, a pained look flickered through Bo Jingyan’s deep eyes as he frowned and started to speak, "You..."
Seeing his expression, Xia Qingtian knew what he was about to say and quickly interrupted him, "There’s no discussion about this matter. I have to go to the company today no matter what, and if you try to stop me, I’ll be angry."
Bo Jingyan then fell silent.
Xia Qingtian, thinking he was upset, cautiously glanced at him, "Hey, why have you suddenly stopped talking?"
"I don’t want to upset Mrs. Bo. I’ll take you to the company now," Bo Jingyan said indulgently.
This finally satisfied Xia Qingtian.
"That’s more like it!" she nodded in approval.
Soon, they arrived at the company.
As Xia Qingtian was getting out of the car and about to wave goodbye to Bo Jingyan, she realized he was following her.
She raised an eyebrow and asked him, "Why are you following me?"
"Of course, to be your assistant," Bo Jingyan walked up beside her, taking her hand. "You were just discharged yesterday, and I don’t want you to overexert yourself, and I can’t make you angry by not letting you handle company matters, so I can only be your assistant. Let you call the shots, and I’ll handle everything else."
"Alright, then I’ll have to trouble Assistant Bo," Xia Qingtian offered no opposition.
After all, Bo Jingyan had been her assistant before; once a novice, now familiar.
Previously, she hadn’t minded troubling Bo Jingyan, and now that he was her husband again, it was even easier to manage him.
"It’s no trouble, as long as you’re willing to reward me well afterward," Bo Jingyan said, a hint of mischievousness in his eyes.
Xia Qingtian sensed that he was scheming for a reward and was just about to scold Bo Jingyan when she suddenly heard someone call her.
"Qingtian..."
Xia Qingtian looked toward the source of the voice.
To her surprise, she saw Huo Qilin, whom she hadn’t seen in a long time. Huo Qilin appeared rather disheveled, his clothes messy, not at all like a big star, nor like a young master of the Huo family, but rather like a homeless man.
How had Huo Qilin ended up like this?
Had something happened while she was in the hospital?
Still shocked, Xia Qingtian saw Huo Qilin approach her rapidly and emotionally.
Before she could react, Bo Jingyan, who had just experienced her kidnapping, protectively pulled her behind him and watched Huo Qilin warily, warning, "Stop there, what are you doing?"
Huo Qilin stopped in front of Bo Jingyan.
Ignoring Bo Jingyan’s warning and cold demeanor, he anxiously looked past him at Xia Qingtian, "Qingtian, you’ve finally appeared. I came looking for you at the company several times, and you weren’t there. I couldn’t reach you on your phone either."
