Chapter 852: Chapter 852: Keep Her Tied by His Side

Xia Qingtian had just turned around when Bo Jingyan wrapped his arms around her waist and forcefully pulled her to his side.

"No, I have everything arranged for today, you must wear this outfit." He assertively grabbed Xia Qingtian’s arm and headed outside, "Come on, we’re running out of time."

Seeing his persistence, Xia Qingtian no longer objected.

She was compelled to follow behind Bo Jingyan as they walked outside, and while walking she asked him, "Hey, where are you taking me?"

Bo Jingyan started playing coy and didn’t answer her, only saying, "You’ll know when we get there."

Seeing she couldn’t get anything out of him, Xia Qingtian didn’t ask any further, reasoning that he wouldn’t possibly sell her off.

With that thought, she settled down in Bo Jingyan’s car.

During the drive to their destination, the sleepiness that had briefly subsided due to the shock now surged back up again, and she couldn’t help but yawn, wiping the tears from the corners of her eyes as she said, "I’m going to take a nap in the car, wake me up when we get there."

"Okay." Bo Jingyan agreed.

After making sure she was alright, Xia Qingtian leaned against the car window and fell asleep.

While she slept, Bo Jingyan, waiting at a traffic light, turned up the car’s heater and drove as smoothly as possible to avoid any jolts.

Xia Qingtian didn’t know how long she had slept.

She was woken up by Bo Jingyan.

"How do you feel? Still sleepy?" Bo Jingyan asked her.

Xia Qingtian rubbed her eyes, having napped in the car for a bit she felt much more awake.

"I’m much better now," she said, shaking her head.

While talking, she noticed the car had stopped and asked, "Are we here?"

Bo Jingyan responded by stepping out of the car first, then he circled around to the passenger side, gentlemanly opened the car door for Xia Qingtian, and gestured for her to get out, "Yes, get out."

Confused, Xia Qingtian stepped out of the car, and curiously surveyed her surroundings, eager to find out the mysterious place Bo Jingyan had brought her to.

Soon, her gaze landed on a building —

The marriage registration office!

Xia Qingtian was instantly shocked, her eyes widened as she stuttered, "Why, why have you brought me to the marriage registration office?"

Bo Jingyan took her hands and kissed the finger that wore the ring, saying earnestly, "Coming to the marriage registration office means we’re here to get our marriage certificate, you did agree to my proposal yesterday, after all."

Xia Qingtian could never have dreamed that she would agree to his proposal yesterday, only to be brought to the marriage registration office first thing in the morning to get a marriage certificate.

She knew this was Bo Jingyan’s way of showing he cared about her.

She too wanted to get legal recognition and become lawfully wedded with the man she loved, but seeing Bo Jingyan’s eagerness, she still couldn’t help but say, chuckling, "Is there really a need to rush?"

"Of course there’s a need!" Bo Jingyan looked matter-of-fact, "Once we get the marriage certificate, you will belong to me, and no one will be able to take you away from me!"

Xia Qingtian said helplessly, "Don’t worry, I’m not some Golden Ingot that people would want to snatch away."

"But I’m still not taking any chances, since you’ve agreed to my proposal, there’s no escaping now." Bo Jingyan looked at his watch and said, "Come on, it’s time for our appointment, let’s go and get the certificate."

As he spoke, Bo Jingyan pulled Xia Qingtian towards the marriage registration office.

While walking with him, Qingtian asked, "By the way, when did you make the appointment?"

Jingyan did not hide anything and directly answered, "I made the appointment as soon as I learned from the doctor which day you would be discharged."

As they talked, Bo Jingyan and Xia Qingtian had entered the marriage registration office and received the forms they needed to fill out.

While filling out the forms, Qingtian gave him a glare, "You made the appointment so early, how could you be sure I would accept your proposal? What if I had said no?"

Jingyan quickly filled out the form he held and put the pen back in its place.

"If you hadn’t accepted my proposal, it would have meant I was not doing enough and needed to work harder. As long as I loved you enough and treated you well, I was sure I could eventually move you and get you to agree to marry me," he replied, his gaze intense as he looked at Xia Qingtian.

Qingtian had initially just been teasing him.

Now, hearing his serious reply, her heart suddenly felt overwhelmingly full.

Her hand paused while filling out the form, and she said, "You’ve already been good enough, which is why I didn’t think twice before saying yes when you proposed yesterday."

After saying this, she even raised her hand to emphasize her point.

After they had filled out the forms, they went to a nearby photo studio to take a red-background one-inch photo.

It was only when they got the photo and went to the marriage registration window to collect their marriage certificate that Qingtian finally realized, "Oh, so that’s why you wanted me to wear this outfit."

It turned out it was for the marriage certificate photo.

"You only realized now? Is your thought process a bit too slow?" Jingyan teased as he ruffled her hair.

Qingtian swatted his hand away, then couldn’t resist picking up the photo they had just taken to look at it.

She glared at Jingyan reproachfully and complained, "You should have told me earlier that we were coming to get the certificate today, I didn’t even put on makeup this morning and I didn’t sleep well last night, so my complexion isn’t good."

This marriage certificate was probably not going to be changed and was meant to last a lifetime.

And the photo didn’t look good at all.

Jingyan turned to glance at the photo and sincerely complimented her, "Who says that? My wife looks beautiful. When made up, you’re stunningly gorgeous, and without makeup, you’re fresh and lively."

"You’ve gotten more and more glib recently," Qingtian said, instantly laughing, any minor discontent she felt soothed away.

"I’m only telling the truth," Jingyan earnestly said.

Qingtian couldn’t help but laugh.

The photo, which had initially seemed a bit off, didn’t bother her anymore.

Pointing at Jingyan in the photo, she said, "Look how silly your smile is."

Usually, Jingyan hardly smiled, and even when he did smile, it was quite restrained, but during this photo, his smile was exceptionally radiant and had been captured exactly like that in the picture.

"Getting to marry the girl I cherish most is such a joy," Jingyan laughed again.

It was evident that today, Jingyan was genuinely happy.

Seeing this, Qingtian humorously commented, "It’s not like it’s our first time getting married, is it really such a big deal?"

Although it was still the two of them getting married, technically, it could be considered a second marriage.
