Shi Qian had finally sunk into obscurity, and with Bo Jingyan watching her, Xia Qingtian no longer paid her any attention.

Shi Qian had indeed faced retribution. She felt she should speak to another victim of her past bullying, Cheng Bingbing, to share the news and perhaps brighten her day.

Taking advantage of her free time, she brought some nutritional supplements to Cheng Bingbing’s house.

Since Cheng Bingbing found out the child in her womb was from Huo Qichen, Huo Qilin’s elder half-brother, she wanted some time alone and had locked herself at home, hardly ever going out.

When Xia Qingtian arrived, Cheng Bingbing was tidying; the house was a mess, barely with any space to step.

Cheng Bingbing, feeling a bit embarrassed, suggested they go to a coffee shop instead.

Xia Qingtian agreed.

The coffee shop wasn’t too far from where Cheng Bingbing lived. The two of them decided not to drive but to walk there instead.

As they were about to reach the coffee shop, Cheng Bingbing suddenly paused.

Seeing her stop, Xia Qingtian asked with confusion, "What’s wrong?"

Cheng Bingbing’s tone was uncertain as she replied, "I think I saw Shi Qian."

Xia Qingtian was stunned. Since the day Shi Qian had been exposed, she had seen her only once. Although she often heard Bo Jingyan talk about Shi Qian’s miserable current state, she had never actually seen her.

Hearing Cheng Bingbing say she saw Shi Qian, she instinctively looked in the direction of Cheng Bingbing’s gaze.

She then saw Shi Qian, in her tattered clothes, nervously standing by a garbage can looking around. When a passerby threw half-eaten food into the bin, she eagerly rushed over, grabbed the food, and stuffed it into her mouth, devouring it hungrily.

Xia Qingtian’s gaze became incredibly complex.

How could she not be, seeing the person who always secretly harmed her receiving her comeuppance?

Seeing her even admit it, the hatred in Shi Qian’s heart exploded even more.

"Xia Qingtian, don’t get cocky, I won’t let you off!" she declared venomously.

Looking at her, hatred filling her entire being, Qingtian couldn’t help but find it slightly amusing and raised an eyebrow as he asked, "Really? Shi Qian, you’re not holding a grudge against me, are you?"

"You made me end up like this, shouldn’t I hate you?" Shi Qian retorted as if it were the most natural thing.

She hated!

Of course she hated!

She wished she could kill Xia Qingtian right there and then.

"Is it really me who made you end up like this?" Xia Qingtian said with a sneer, "Am I the one who forced you to be ungrateful, who made you fake the mistress’s illness to achieve your own goals, regardless of her life or death? Don’t you find it laughable to say such things now?"

If Shi Qian hadn’t been so greedy, after she saved Mistress Bo, not only would Mistress Bo have loved her as her own daughter, but Bo Jingyan, who is not ungrateful, would have treated her as a sister as well.

But greed is a bottomless pit, and she wanted too much.

Her downfall was due to her own greed and vanity. Even now, she failed to reflect on herself and blamed others for her faults. There really was no cure for her!

"Do you think a few words from you can make me drop my hatred for you? Dream on! I will definitely have my revenge!" Shi Qian left these final words, straightened her back, and walked away with a proud demeanor.

Xia Qingtian shook his head.

They had already seen her digging through the trash for food, did Shi Qian really think that by straightening her back, she could regain her pride?

Not sure whether to call her naive, or just foolish.

Once Shi Qian’s figure had disappeared from view, Xia Qingtian turned back and said to Cheng Bingbing, "Let’s go, don’t let her ruin our mood."

As he spoke, he walked with Cheng Bingbing over to the coffee shop.

When they arrived at the coffee shop, Xia Qingtian ordered an Americano for himself. Cheng Bingbing didn’t like coffee and, being pregnant, she was cautious of caffeine affecting the baby, so she just ordered warm water and a small cake.

After sipping the warm water, thinking of the Shi Qian they saw outside, she couldn’t help but ask, "Sister Qingtian, how did Shi Qian end up like this?"

The very first time she saw Shi Qian that day, she couldn’t believe her eyes and even thought she had mistaken someone else for Shi Qian. The one miserably huddling by the trash bin didn’t seem to be her at all, just someone who looked like her.

But from the recent conversation she overheard between Xia Qingtian and Shi Qian, she recognized that she hadn’t mistaken her identity!

Cheng Bingbing asking this didn’t surprise Qingtian.

Bingbing had been cooped up at home recently, cutting off all outside information; naturally, she didn’t know that Shi Qian had almost become a pariah in the entertainment industry, whom everyone shouted down. He came today partly to see how she was, and partly to inform Bingbing about Shi Qian’s situation.

He briefly updated Cheng Bingbing on Shi Qian’s recent circumstances.

After hearing this, Cheng Bingbing knew that Shi Qian no longer had the capacity to protect herself, let alone harm her ever again, and deep down, she was pleased.

However, she thought of her decision that even if Shi Qian tried to harm her in the future, she wouldn’t get the chance.

She was happier for Xia Qingtian though.

With Mistress Bo no longer caring for Shi Qian, it was unlikely Shi Qian could instigate further discord between Xia Qingtian and her mother-in-law. Sooner or later, Mistress Bo would accept her, right?
