When Shi Qian mentioned Xia Qingtian, Bo’s mother initially remembered the last time at the mall when Xia Qingtian had defended her from a family that wronged and attempted to extort her, and even treated her to a very satisfying dinner afterwards.

Knowing that he had gone abroad for a medical check-up, Cheng Bingbing stopped him, "No need, come back after your reexamination. Anyway, I’m in A City and won’t be going anywhere. I’ll wait for you."

"Alright," Huo Qilin agreed.

However, despite promising to wait, Huo Qilin persuaded Mrs. Huo to buy a plane ticket that same night and flew back from abroad.

Mrs. Huo had no idea he was eager to see Cheng Bingbing, thinking instead that he wanted to see the Energy King’s daughter. She felt somewhat comforted by the thought, believing he had finally come to his senses, wanted to put the little actress behind him, and start courting the Energy King’s daughter, then return to compete for the Huo Family’s fortunes.

"Are you awake?" Huo Qilin asked over the phone.

Cheng Bingbing’s voice carried a hint of drowsy laziness, "Mhm, just woke up, what’s up?"

She was a bit curious as to why Huo Qilin would call so early in the morning.

Huo Qilin didn’t answer her question but instead said, "Open the door!"

"Why do you want to open the door?" Cheng Bingbing rubbed her eyes, not understanding his meaning but still obediently flung the quilt aside, stepped out of bed, and opened the door.

Her somewhat sleep-heavy eyes were instantly shocked wide open when she saw the person standing at her front door.

She couldn’t believe her eyes and rubbed them again. Seeing that the figure before her didn’t disappear, she finally realized it wasn’t a dream or her imagination. Huo Qilin, who should have been overseas, was now standing right in front of her, very much alive.

"Bingbing, I’m back! Isn’t it a surprise?" Huo Qilin looked at her with a warm smile in his eyes.

Unable to contain her emotions any longer, Cheng Bingbing threw herself into Huo Qilin’s arms, hugging his neck tightly.
