Shi Qian suddenly spoke up, startling Bo’s mother.

"What’s wrong?" Bo’s mother looked at her with concern and asked.

Shi Qian’s eyes widened as she looked at Bo Jingyan’s arm with a pained expression, "Brother Jingyan, your arm is bleeding!"

Bo Jingyan turned his head to look and indeed saw the crimson blood oozing out, staining his white shirt red. He furrowed his brows; it must have been when he had helped the pregnant woman. He had accidentally bumped into his wound, causing it to reopen.

"What happened?" Bo’s mother couldn’t help but ask worriedly.

Bo Jingyan, however, didn’t seem to care much as he withdrew his gaze, saying, "It’s nothing. I hurt my arm during a business trip; it just stretched the wound a bit just now!"

Bo’s mother’s usually calm tone became anxious, "Is it a deep wound?"

"Not deep!" Bo Jingyan spoke, "If it weren’t for bumping my arm just now, it should have already been close to healing."

"That’s good then." Bo’s mother nodded and instructed, "Have the doctor re-bandage it for you later."

"Mm." Bo Jingyan agreed.

During their conversation, the elevator doors opened once again, arriving at the floor where Bo’s mother’s sickroom was located.

Bo Jingyan helped Bo’s mother towards the sickroom.

After walking a few steps, Bo’s mother paused, and Bo Jingyan looked at her and asked, "What’s wrong? Are you feeling uncomfortable anywhere?"

"No." Bo’s mother replied, "It’s Qianqian who hasn’t caught up."

As she spoke, she looked back, then saw Shi Qian standing in the elevator, motionless as if she had lost her soul, showing no intention to step out or keep up with their pace.

She rarely saw Shi Qian in such a dazed state and couldn’t help but worry.

She knew Shi Qian had feelings for Bo Jingyan, and now that Bo Jingyan had divorced Xia Qingtian, both were single. She wanted to matchmake them and patted Bo Jingyan’s hand, saying, "I don’t have much strength right now, could you go check on Qianqian for me? See if she’s feeling unwell, and if she is, take her for an examination on my behalf."

Bo Jingyan knew she wanted to set him up with Shi Qian.

He felt no ripple in the depths of his heart, even a touch of disgust, but since his mother had spoken, he didn’t refuse.

He let go of his mother and turned to return to the elevator. The doors were about to close when he reached out to stop them from shutting; they opened again. His face expressionless, he said, "Aren’t you coming out? What do you think you’re doing?"

Hearing his words, Shi Qian suddenly snapped back to reality, instinctively looking at his injured arm. A flicker of shock and contemplation passed through the depths of her pupils.

"What are you looking at?" Bo Jingyan, seeing she was still silently staring at him, couldn’t help but speak with a tinge of impatience.

Shi Qian withdrew her gaze and shook her head, "Nothing, I was just thinking about some things."

Bo Jingyan wasn’t interested in whatever she was pondering.

"Come out!" he didn’t press her, simply spitting out the two words coldly.

Shi Qian obediently stepped out of the elevator.

Bo’s mother beckoned her worriedly to come closer and asked, "What’s wrong?"

Shi Qian shook her head, forcing a weak smile, "Nothing."

Bo’s mother saw through the lie at a glance, but since Shi Qian didn’t want to disclose it, she didn’t continue to inquire in front of Bo Jingyan.

Bo Jingyan had sent the two women back to their hospital room and then went to find the duty doctor to have his wounds rebandaged, making sure to remind the doctor to do a good job of it. When he was away on a business trip previously, Xia Qingtian had insisted on checking his wounds every day.

He was afraid that Qingtian would want to see his wounds again the next time they met, and he worried that she would be concerned if she discovered his wounds had reopened.

The best solution was to make sure she didn’t notice.

While Bo Jingyan was having his wounds bandaged, Shi Qian stayed by Mother Bo’s side, but she still seemed very distracted. Mother Bo called her several times with no response.

All she could think about was the wound on Bo Jingyan’s arm.

Xia Qingtian’s new boyfriend, apart from his face, resembled Bo Jingyan in many ways, and he had also been injured while saving Qingtian. Not only was it the same arm that was hurt, but it was the exact same spot.

Was this really just a coincidence?

Shi Qian couldn’t help but feel uneasy when she thought about it, even for a moment.

Could Xia Qingtian’s new boyfriend actually be Bo Jingyan?

At that thought, her complexion turned pale.

Shi Qian looked at Mother Bo with a soreness in her eyes and said, "Mother Bo, I suspect that Xia Qingtian and Brother Jingyan have gotten back together?"

"No!" Shi Qian explained everything, of course omitting the part where she instructed her assistant to cut the rope to teach Cheng Bingbing a lesson. She rushed to talk about Xia Qingtian’s new boyfriend’s arm injury.

After listening, Mother Bo’s face remained calm and she didn’t speak.

Seeing her reaction, Shi Qian grew even more anxious.

Mother Bo had always disliked Xia Qingtian. Upon hearing that Qingtian might again be engaging with Bo Jingyan, shouldn’t she react emotionally, lash out at Qingtian, and vehemently oppose their relationship, asking for Shi Qian’s help in devising plans to split up Xia Qingtian and Bo Jingyan?
