Chapter 780: Chapter 780: Unwilling to Let Her Go_1

Xia Qingtian lifted Cheng Bingbing’s clothes to inspect the burn. Thankfully, it was only red and not blistered.

However, Bingbing’s silence and the look on her face had Qingtian worried.

"Bingbing, what’s wrong with you?" she asked, patting Bingbing’s face anxiously.

Cheng Bingbing seemed suddenly to snap back to reality.

"I..." She bit her lip hard, replying, "I’m fine."

Watching Bingbing almost bite through her lip, Xia Qingtian struggled to believe that she was really fine. She knew she wouldn’t tell her what was wrong at this point, so she decided to play it cool.

Acting as though she hadn’t noticed anything was wrong, she said, "As long as you’re okay."

Seeing that Qingtian wasn’t pressing her any further, Bingbing let out a sigh of relief.

She sat down again, picking anxiously at her fingers. The man hadn’t let her go and certainly wouldn’t let her go now, and Bingbing didn’t know what to do.

Seeing the visible anxiety on Bingbing’s face, Qingtian asked tentatively, "Who sent you that message earlier?"

Cheng Bingbing’s strange behavior had started right after she received that message. If they could find out who sent it, maybe they could find out what happened.

"It’s just a spam message," Bingbing didn’t want to talk about it anymore. Standing abruptly, she said, "Qingtian, I’ve finished eating- I need to clean the stain on my dress, so it won’t interfere with the filming later."

Without waiting for Xia Qingtian to respond, she rushed out of the room.

Xia Qingtian watched her retreating figure, her eyes narrowed. Bingbing’s situation seemed quite severe. She decided to put more time and energy into Bingbing’s matter for a while.

Thinking about it, she decided to stay with the crew, instead of rushing back to the company, to keep Bingbing company.

Because of Bingbing’s troubles, her acting performance was terrible. She kept making mistakes on set, causing the director and the crew to look very disgruntled. But because Xia Qingtian was present, they held back their complaints.

Xia Qingtian’s company was about to be listed publicly, which would increase its status significantly, so they preferred not to offend her.

After seeing Bingbing’s inability to improve, the crew decided to finish work early.

Bingbing knew she had delayed everyone’s work she felt helpless as all she could think about was that man’s threats and whether those close to her might be in danger as a result.

Watching the entire crew stop work because of her, she felt so guilty she was on the verge of tears. She kept bowing and apologising, asking for everyone’s forgiveness.

The sincere apology from Bingbing finally began to soften the crew’s faces.

Leaving the set, and seeing Bingbing’s low mood, Qingtian asked, "Do you want to go home or shall we walk around for a while to clear your mind?"

"Qingtian, could you please take me home?" Bingbing requested.

She felt unsafe outside, fearing that the man might be spying on her somewhere. She felt safer at home with the doors and windows tightly shut.

Xia Qingtian had wanted to take her out for a walk to distract her from her troubles, but she agreed to take her home when she insisted.

Soon, she dropped Bingbing off at her dormitory.

"Thanks, Qingtian. Take care on your way home," Bingbing said, unfastening her seat belt, and hurrying out of the car.

After Bingbing left, Qingtian didn’t immediately drive away, but sat in the car for a while.

She was still worried about Cheng Bingbing who, when leaving, still had a pale face. She decided to call Huo Qilin to check on Bingbing and find out what had happened.

Even if Bingbing wasn’t willing to tell Qilin, having him by her side would be good, she thought, pulling out her phone to call Qilin.

But before she could hit Qilin’s number, she heard the sound of rushing footsteps. When she looked up she saw Bingbing, who had just gone upstairs, running back down hastily.

"Bingbing, you..." She frowned, about to remind Bingbing not to run too fast and be aware of where she was stepping.

But just as she’d started saying that, Bingbing tripped and fell.

Xia Qingtian immediately rushed to her side.

"Bingbing, are you okay?" She helped Bingbing up, asking, "Does anything hurt?"

As Bingbing was pregnant, any fall could be dangerous and she was worried about Bingbing’s unborn child.

They both felt so helpless, and almost in tears.

"I..." Bingbing began, but then tears started falling from her eyes.

Xia Qingtian’s face turned pale. She thought Bingbing was in discomfort and immediately comforted her, promising to call an ambulance and reassuring her that it could arrive quickly because there was a hospital nearby.

Hearing this, Bingbing explained through sobs "Not me, I’m fine. It’s Huo Qilin... "

Tears streamed down her face even harder.

Qingtian was taken aback. "What happened to Qilin?" She asked, only just a few minutes ago she was about to call him, and had no idea that something had happened.

Cheng Bingbing started sobbing even harder.

"I just received a call from the hospital..." she choked on her words, unable to complete the sentence. "Qilin...he was in a car accident."

Qingtian’s heart jumped at her words. She had never expected a car accident, and her heart clenched at the thought of Huo Qilin being hurt.

"How is Qilin now? Is he in a serious condition?" she asked anxiously.

Bingbing shook her head, crying, "I don’t know, the hospital just called to say he is in surgery, but they aren’t sure of his condition yet."

Xia Qingtian was incredibly worried.

She knew staying here worrying wouldn’t help, they needed to go to the hospital if they wanted to know more about Qilin’s condition.
