Chapter 774: Chapter 774 He Doesn’t Regret _1
Bo Jingyan, listening to her coquettish complaints, felt his heart was about to melt.
"I may not help you with your job, but I can offer assistance with other things."
At once, Xia Qingtian’s eyes moved from the script to Bo Jingyan’s face. Her tone was tinged with curiosity when she asked, "Oh? Please do tell me what kind of help you can offer."
Bo Jingyan picked up some fruit from the coffee table and fed it to her by hand.
He spoke with a tone of endearment, "I can feed you fruit."
As he spoke, he had already peeled a grape and was putting it into Xia Qingtian’s mouth. "Ah, open your mouth," he coaxed her gently as if he was not feeding an adult but a baby.
Oddly enough, Xia Qingtian felt a chill. Wanting to tease him, she pretended to be dissatisfied and complained after swallowing the grape, "The grape you fed me is not sweet at all!"
Bo Jingyan took her words seriously.
He assumed the fruit was not sweet, so instinctively, he tasted a grape himself. If it was indeed not sweet, he would have no problem going downstairs to personally buy some sweet ones for Xia Qingtian.
But, the grape he tasted was indeed very sweet.
He thought perhaps the grapes varied in quality, so he picked a redder one to feed her this time.
After Xia Qingtian tasted it, she declared it far too sour.
Bo Jingyan fed her several more, but Xia Qingtian complained that they were either too sour or not sweet enough. Even the usually slow-witted Bo Jingyan began to realize that she was messing with him.
He looked at her with his deep-set eyes and asked in amusement, "Are you teasing me?"
Though his question seemed to seek validation, the assertiveness in his tone indicated that he had already figured out the truth.
Xia Qingtian, having planned to tease him all along, did not deny it. She looked back at him nonchalantly and said, "Yes, that’s right. If you can, punish me. Regardless, I still think the grapes you feed me are not sweet."
She believed that Bo Jingyan would never harm her, so she admitted this without any pressure.
"How could I possibly bring myself to lay a finger on you when I love you so much?" Bo Jingyan stared at her quietly for a while, then suddenly burst into laughter.
Seeing his smile caused goosebumps to appear all over Xia Qingtian’s body—an instinctive reaction animals have when they sense danger.
"What are you planning?" She warned Bo Jingyan, all while subconsciously attempting to leave the couch and distance herself from him.
"Where are you trying to escape to? Didn’t you say that the grapes I fed you were not sweet?" There was no way Bo Jingyan would allow her to escape. As soon as he perceived her intention, he pulled her back onto the sofa. "Now watch as I demonstrate how to make grapes sweet."
As soon as he finished speaking, before Xia Qingtian could react, he fed himself a grape.
Next, he leaned down to block Xia Qingtian’s lips, and with an unyielding determination, he transferred the grape into her mouth.
After feeding her the grape, Bo Jingyan didn’t back off. He ruthlessly crushed it, allowing the sweet juice to fill their mouths.
Now, the taste of the sweet grape permeated both of their mouths.
Xia Qingtian was almost out of breath when Bo Jingyan finally decided to show mercy and let her go.
"My dear wife, how about that? Was the grape I just fed you sweet?" Bo Jingyan’s voice was laced with desire, making him sound irresistibly sexy. Simultaneously, he radiated an enormous sense of impending danger.
Xia Qingtian had intended to tease him, but she was the one who ended up on the losing side.
She had suffered enough. She didn’t dare to mess with him anymore.
Feeling somewhat stifled, she nodded, "Sweet! Very sweet!"
"As long as you’re satisfied." Bo Jingyan sighed regretfully.
Xia Qingtian didn’t want to know why he felt regretful.
Having learned her lesson, she dared not provoke Bo Jingyan anymore. So, she took her work seriously and focused her attention entirely on her job.
Thankfully, she found a really promising script. Even with Bo Jingyan by her side, she was engrossed in the reading.
Although Bo Jingyan was slightly dissatisfied with her total lack of attention towards him, he didn’t interrupt her work. Instead, he continued to look at her with a pathetic expression.
What made him feel helpless was that even in this state, Xia Qingtian was still completely engrossed in her script.
He sighed. Clearly, at this moment, work was more important to Xia Qingtian than he was.
It was he who had supported Xia Qingtian in becoming a manager, and he who had personally handed over the entertainment company for her to manage.
Yet, he had no regrets!
Xia Qingtian had the capability to soar high like an eagle. She shouldn’t be confined within her small world.
For the next few days, Xia Qingtian stayed at home with Bo Jingyan, only occasionally leaving for mandatory company duties. Once she had completed her tasks at the company, she would rush back home as quickly as possible.
Bo Jingyan did the same.
One day,
Neither Xia Qingtian nor Bo Jingyan had any work to do. A little tired of staying at home all day, they decided to go out for a stroll.
However, just as Xia Qingtian changed her clothes and was about to leave with Bo Jingyan, her phone suddenly rang from inside her purse.
"Wait, let me take this call first." Xia Qingtian paused and said to Bo Jingyan.
She was about to pick up her phone when Bo Jingyan stopped her.
"I have a feeling if you pick up this call, we won’t be able to go out," he said with an inclination of dissatisfaction evident in his tone and expression.
Xia Qingtian glanced at the incoming call and saw it was from the production team.
Not only Bo Jingyan, even she felt that they probably wouldn’t be able to go out today.
Usually, the production team wouldn’t contact her unless there was a significant issue. The last two times they did was because Huo Qilin had assaulted an actor on set and because Cheng Bingbing had twisted her ankle due to someone’s negligence.
Because of these incidents, she wanted to throw her phone away every time she saw a call come in from the production team.
However, as this was part of her job responsibilities, she didn’t have the luxury of ignoring these calls, no matter how reluctant she felt. She knew she had to answer, communicate, and actively seek solutions if there were any issues.
