Huo Qilin looked at Cheng Bingbing with a guilty expression on his face. "I’m sorry, Bingbing. I had promised to take you shopping this afternoon and help you buy some things, but it seems I’m going to break that promise."

"It’s okay. I’m not a child. I can buy things on my own. Don’t worry about it." Cheng Bingbing didn’t seem to mind at all.

She was accustomed to being independent. She was not a delicate flower raised in a greenhouse, needing people to accompany her everywhere.

He looked at Xia Qingtian, who was trailing behind, and said, "Qingtian, I’m going to entrust Bingbing to you for the afternoon. I have to go due to some urgent business. Can you take care of her for me?"

"What’s wrong?" Xia Qingtian asked as she halted as well.

Cheng Bingbing said somewhat embarrassingly, "I need to use the washroom."

Having been pregnant before, Xia Qingtian understood that pregnant women often had to use the restroom. She patiently replied, "I’ll go with you..."

She scanned the area and soon spotted the restroom sign. "It’s over there; let’s go."

But Cheng Bingbing immediately refused. "No need, Qingtian. I can go by myself. I’m still very early in my pregnancy and my stomach isn’t large yet. I can still move around freely without needing any special care."

Halfway through the chase, her phone rang. She glanced at the caller ID and found that it was Cheng Bingbing. It dawned on her that she had left the shopping mall to chase Shi Qian while leaving Cheng Bingbing waiting.

However, the thought of giving up the chase to go back to the mall and meet up with Cheng Bingbing was difficult to swallow.

Xia Qingtian answered the phone, and Cheng Bingbing’s voice came through, asking, "Qingtian, where are you? I’ve been searching for you on the sixth floor but I can’t find you."
