Cheng Bingbing knew that Xia Qingtian didn’t like making a fuss about her accomplishments, so she didn’t continue to thank her.

But she wanted to treat her to a meal. In a different phrasing, she said to Xia Qingtian, "Let’s not talk about ’thanks’ during this meal, you’re my friend. Now that I’m dating someone, having my boyfriend treat you to a meal is only natural. You won’t turn it down, will you?"

Cheng Bingbing, aware that Xia Qingtian and Bo Jingyan had reconciled, added, "If Bo Jingyan is free tomorrow, he could join us."

By ’convenient’, she didn’t mean when Bo Jingyan was free, but after Bo Jingyan’s mother recovers, when she and Bo Jingyan could appear together openly in front of everyone.

As she opened the door of the private dining room, she just saw Huo Qilin clumsily pulling Cheng Bingbing’s loose hair, making it a mess, which made her look like a lunatic.

To her surprise, Cheng Bingbing didn’t get mad, instead she was laughing sweetly.

The couple didn’t seem to notice her standing at the door for quite a while. The meal hadn’t even started and she already felt full - of their sweet moments together.

In the end, Xia Qingtian realized that if she didn’t let them know, they might not notice her at all, no matter how long she stood at the door.

She had to clear her throat to ensure her presence.

Startled by the sound, Cheng Bingbing and Huo Qilin turned their heads and saw Xia Qingtian. Whilst Huo Qilin remained calm, standing up to pull out a chair for Xia Qingtian as a gentleman, Cheng Bingbing blushed and quietly asked, "Qingtian, when did you arrive?"

"When Qilin was fixing your hair." Xia Qingtian answered.

Bingbing sighed in relief after hearing this, her blushing face softened, "My hair came loose, so I asked him to fix it."

Xia Qingtian raised her eyebrows with a meaningful look at Cheng Bingbing’s response.

It seemed that Cheng Bingbing and Huo Qilin had probably done something more intimate before her arrival.

Before Xia Qingtian arrived, Huo Qilin and Cheng Bingbing had already ordered some dishes. When she arrived, they handed her the menu to add a few dishes she liked.

Xia Qingtian looked at the dishes they had already ordered, reckoning it would be enough for the three of them, and after ordering a dessert for after the meal, didn’t add any more dishes.

Soon, their dishes arrived.

Huo Qilin, playing the role of the new boyfriend very well, had been extremely attentive to his girlfriend. Throughout the meal, Cheng Bingbing didn’t have to reach for food once.

Cheng Bingbing’s face flushed, she was about to agree, but then...

Huo Qilin not only didn’t tone down, but he kissed Cheng Bingbing in front of her, slightly centred around him, "You and Bo Jingyan fed Bingbing and me a lot of sweetness when you were together. Now, I’m just merely payback."

Xia Qingtian rolled her eyes, "Now I really regret it. I should’ve never helped you. Letting you continue to watch from outside, no, letting you keep being unaware of your love for Bingbing. Making you suffer."

"Qingtian, he didn’t mean it," Cheng Bingbing immediately defended Huo Qilin.

"You..." Xia Qingtian shook her head helplessly, "You really choose your boyfriend over your friend."

Cheng Bingbing’s face turned even redder.

Huo Qilin, on the other hand, looked rather pleased with himself, "We’re going to be together for a lifetime. If she’s not on my side, whose side should she be on?"

She compromised and said, "Okay okay, you two are in this together now. I can’t possibly go against you two. Go on and show off your love for one another."

Then, she looked down and stopped looking at Cheng Bingbing and Huo Qilin.

And just like that, they began to display even more affection, refusing to just eat silently, instead choosing to feed each other.

Xia Qingtian felt she was under attack.

After they finished their meal, Huo Qilin originally wanted to take Cheng Bingbing shopping and buy some stuff. But as soon as he finished paying the bill and walked out of the restaurant, his phone rang all of a sudden.

He glanced at his phone and saw that it was a call from his mother.

Huo Qilin picked up the call. On the other end of the line, his mother said she was feeling uncomfortable and wanted him to come home.

Cheng Bingbing noticed that Huo Qilin looked a bit off, so she asked, "What happened?"

Huo Qilin couldn’t possibly leave his mother, "my mom isn’t feeling well, she asked me to come home."

"Then you should go." Cheng Bingbing, having never experienced the warmth of family, admires others’ harmonious family lives. Now that his mother was feeling unwell, Huo Qilin had no choice but to rush back home.
