Bo Jingyan had no idea why Shi Qian would suddenly bring up the favor he had promised her earlier. However, he was not someone who would go back on his word.

Since he had mentioned owing Shi Qian a favor, he would, of course, repay it.

He nodded, "Okay."

Suddenly, Shi Qian’s eyes lit up. "In that case, I’d like you to repay that favor today," she said.

"Go ahead," Bo Jingyan did not object.

He wanted to repay the favor to Shi Qian as soon as possible so that they would no longer have any obligations towards each other.

"I heard from a friend that a certain restaurant serves incredibly tasty food. I’ve always wanted to go there, but I feel it would be too lonely to go alone. That’s why I want you to accompany me," Shi Qian suggested.

"Alright," Bo Jingyan agreed.

Previously, Shi Qian had mentioned that after his mother’s situation stabilized, he should treat her to a meal. He had planned to have Jian Xuan arrange the restaurant for this meal, but since Shi Qian already had a restaurant in mind, they might as well go there.

As far as he was concerned, as long as the dining company was not Xia Qingtian, it wouldn’t require extra effort from him.

Shi Qian, having achieved her goal, beamed and announced, "I will send you the restaurant’s location later. We’ll meet tonight."

Bo Jingyan didn’t comment on this.

He glanced at his wristwatch. "Mother, I have something to attend to at the company. I need to pay a visit there. If there’s anything urgent, feel free to call me," he said.

Before his mother could speak, Shi Qian eagerly interjected, "Brother Jingyan, don’t worry! I’ve postponed many tasks just to take care of Mother Bo. She’s in good hands. You can focus on your work."

Bo Jingyan nodded and then left the hospital.

Shi Qian remained in place, watching his receding figure. She was unwilling to take her gaze off him, even long after he had disappeared from her sight.

Mother Bo saw this and shook her head in resignation. "Alright, stop staring. He’s already left," she reminded Shi Qian.

Shi Qian turned around, only to meet Mother Bo’s teasing gaze. Her face turned red. "Mother Bo, please don’t make fun of me. You know that I’ve always liked Brother Jingyan. I’m willing to give everything for him," she confessed.

"I know," replied Mother Bo as she patted Shi Qian’s hand. "I approve of you. If you can convince Jingyan to marry you, I’d be more than happy to welcome you into the Bo family as my daughter-in-law."

Besides the fact that both Shi Qian and her mother had saved her, another reason for her approval was her recognition of Shi Qian’s genuine feelings towards Bo Jingyan. If Bo Jingyan could be with a woman who genuinely adores him, he would lead a truly blissful and worry-free life.

"Mother Bo, you’re so kind," Shi Qian clung to her and acted like a spoiled child in reply.

Mother Bo sighed. If her daughter was still alive, she probably would have acted just like Shi Qian.

This thought made her heart ache in a bittersweet manner.

After hanging up the call with Bo Jingyan, Xia Qingtian went to meet up with Cheng Bingbing.

"Sister Qingtian, your face is so red. Are you alright?" asked Cheng Bingbing in concern upon seeing Xia Qingtian’s flushed face.

Xia Qingtian reflexively touched her face and discovered it was unusually warm, almost burning.

She fanned herself to cool her face down.

"It’s nothing, I just feel a bit hot," she said, looking for an excuse.

Finding the claim weird, Cheng Bingbing pointed out that it was already autumn and the weather was rather cool than hot.

She felt Xia Qingtian was hiding something, but, respecting her privacy, she tasked herself with finding a solution instead. "In that case, you should go to the cool shade of the beach and cool down."

"No, it’s okay. I’ll cool down in a bit," Xia Qingtian said. She wasn’t actually hot, so there was no need to cool down.

She continued working alongside Cheng Bingbing.

As they chatted and worked on setting up the place, night fell, blanketing the place in darkness.

Finally, they finished setting up.

Cheng Bingbing watched from afar and felt rather content. Then she turned to Xia Qingtian and asked nervously, "Is Qilin about to arrive, Sister Qingtian?"

Seeing her nervousness, Xia Qingtian calmly responded, "Let me ask him."

"Okay," Cheng Bingbing agreed.

As if on cue, Xia Qingtian’s phone started ringing just as she finished speaking. It was Huo Qilin.

Cheng Bingbing saw the caller ID and held her breath. She gestured to Xia Qingtian to pick up the call quickly.

Understanding Cheng Bingbing’s urgency, Xia Qingtian answered the call right in front of her and even put it on speaker for Cheng Bingbing to hear. "Are you there yet?" she asked as soon as the call connected.

"Yes, I’m at the car park. But, I can’t find the place you mentioned," replied Huo Qilin, sounding slightly frustrated.

Xia Qingtian couldn’t help but want to laugh.

Choosing this location for its seclusion had been deliberate. They were worried Huo Qilin would show up unexpectedly and ruin the plan. Since Huo Qilin had never been here, he would need someone to guide him.

"Alright, just stay there. I’m coming to get you," said Xia Qingtian before hanging up.

She then turned to Cheng Bingbing. "I’m going to fetch Qilin now. I will delay a bit on the way, so you’ll have more time to make finish the preparations."

Cheng Bingbing’s heart was pounding fast.

Taking a deep breath, as if she was making a resolve, she said, "Okay."

Seeing her determination, Xia Qingtian chuckled. "Actually, you don’t need to be so nervous. Tonight is just a formality. Huo Qilin’s love for you is unquestionable. Regardless of how well or poorly you perform tonight, he will be delighted," she explained.

Cheng Bingbing remained silent.

She knew Xia Qingtian was right, but she was still uncontrollably anxious.

Knowing that it was something Cheng Bingbing herself had to deal with, Xia Qingtian ended the conversation with a pat on Cheng Bingbing’s shoulder and went off to fetch Huo Qilin.

She arrived at the parking lot and immediately spotted Huo Qilin.
