Chapter 632: Chapter 632: Treating the Symptoms, Not the Root Cause _1

Xia Qingtian was not very pleased with this result.

She knew only too well that causing trouble could at most lead to a three-day detention and a fine. They could be released thereafter, even without a criminal record.

Three days later, the Zhu Family would undoubtedly continue to bother her relentlessly.

To get rid of this trouble, it wouldn’t suffice to just solve the immediate problems while ignoring the root cause.

What Xia Qingtian found puzzling was why Zhu Wei would tell Madame Zhu that everything he had lost was his own doing.

He surely knew that if she had had such power, he couldn’t have been bullied by her to such an extent!

Could it be that Zhu Wei said such things only because he didn’t want to let her off the hook?

But after thinking about it, she felt that was unlikely.

He should be more focused on getting himself out of trouble rather than going after her. They didn’t have any deep-rooted grudges!

Could there be something she didn’t know of?

These matters could be investigated later; the priority now was to look after Director Sun, as it was related to the future development of the company.

Thinking thus, Xia Qingtian took a quick shower in a hotel near the company, changed into fresh clothes, and rushed back to the office.

Cheng Bingbing had managed to keep Director Sun from leaving by the time she returned.

She took a deep breath, pulled out her professional knowledge, and started to explain the company’s future direction and goals to Director Sun.

Xia Qingtian prepared thoroughly for this time.

A previously disgruntled Director Sun finally relaxed a bit after her presentation, even standing up to applaud, "Well done, well done!"

Xia Qingtian relaxed a bit at this sight.

She responded with a graceful smile, "As long as you’re satisfied, Director Sun."

Glancing at the time, Director Sun said, "I have another gathering next, I’ll take my leave."

Immediately, Xia Qingtian walked him out of the company.

By now, the mess outside the office had been cleared up, showing no signs of the turmoil.

Just when Director Sun reached his car and was about to get in, it appeared as if he remembered something. He stopped midway, turned back to look at Xia Qingtian and said, "Ms. Xia, as your partner, I feel compelled to tell you something."

Xia Qingtian tensed up.

She had a pretty good guess about what Director Sun would say.

"Director Sun, go ahead," she said humbly.

"Starlight is an entertainment company after all, requiring us to mix in the entertainment circle. Hence, it’s essential to consider reputation and public opinion. If today’s incident happens a few more times, the impact would be significant. It could tarnish the company’s and artists’ impression," Director Sun shared sagely. "A good rapport with the public is quite crucial in the entertainment industry!"

His speech was exactly as Xia Qingtian had expected.

"Alright, I will handle this matter as soon as possible," she promised Director Sun.

Director Sun nodded in satisfaction, "It’s best if you heed advice. I hope our partnership is a win-win situation."

Having said his piece, he got into his car and drove away.

After seeing Director Sun off, Xia Qingtian returned to the company and called a private investigator to dig into why the Zhu Family had become entangled with her.

Having assigned that task, she didn’t dwell further on the matter.

Since the company had signed so many newcomers after its major setback, she decided to hold a grand and formal signing ceremony to promote the company and the newcomers.

The ceremony was scheduled for a week later.

By the time the week had passed, everything was adequately prepared.

The only thing that worried Xia Qingtian was that the private investigator hadn’t figured out why the Zhu Family was bothering her, so she hadn’t resolved the issue with them.

She feared that the Zhu Family might stir up trouble on the day of the signing ceremony which would turn it into a joke.

She would also lose face and become a laughing stock.

It was hard for her not to worry and be anxious!

To ensure the smooth completion of the signing ceremony, Xia Qingtian made preemptive arrangements with a large number of security staff while also controlling the number of media personnel invited to the ceremony.

When the day of the signing came, even though every precaution had been taken, she was still not entirely at ease.

She had arranged for one of the best-known hosts in the industry for the signing ceremony; hence, it should proceed according to plan without her presence needed.

Hence, she assumed the role of security.

She could truly be at ease only if she oversaw it herself.

Soon, the signing ceremony reached its climax. The newly signed artists, witnessed by the media, signed off their contracts. The next agenda was the interview and photo-taking ceremony.

Once this session was completed, the signing ceremony would be considered successfully ended.

Everything was going smoothly. Xia Qingtian didn’t anticipate any more surprises and was about to breathe a sigh of relief when she suddenly saw a stooped figure.

Her heart tightened.

Didn’t that figure look a lot like Madame Zhu?

Xia Qingtian didn’t dare to let her guard down. She immediately called the nearest security personnel and followed the figure. She had to control the Zhu Family’s movements and couldn’t let them make a fuss at this time.

Soon, she caught up with that figure.

Her eyebrows furrowed tightly because she hadn’t mistaken it; it was Madame Zhu indeed!

Madame Zhu was carrying something and sneaking into the safety passage. It was unclear what she was up to.

Fearing the Zhu’s might play a trick, Xia Qingtian didn’t dare pull all her personnel from the signing scene. She could only lead her security team to follow and find out.

She had considered this thoroughly. If she were to chase after them and ended up clashing with the Zhu’s, intending to harm her-

Even if she couldn’t fight them off with one security guard, she could run.

Even if she couldn’t outrun them, it wouldn’t matter. She couldn’t believe that the Zhu’s would dare to commit a public crime. The most vital issue today was the signing ceremony; anything else was insignificant.

Keeping this in mind, she followed them.

Like so, she followed Madame Zhu to the rooftop of the shopping center.

The Zhu Family members were all on the rooftop, looking quite ragged.

Just as she was about to observe further, suddenly-

A harsh sound rang out beside her ear.

The guard who was initially beside her had stepped on an empty can thrown aside, creating the harsh noise.
