Bo Jingyan didn’t really give much thought to this matter.

He could still remember how Xia Qingtian had slept beside him last night. Even before he opened his eyes, he unconsciously wanted to pull her into his arms. His possessiveness made him hold her tightly.

Only then, he could feel Xia Qingtian was still by his side.

But he couldn’t find her no matter how much he tried.

Bo Jingyan opened his deep eyes, glanced at the hospital bed and conducted a sweep of the room. The little woman who promised yesterday that she wouldn’t leave until he was fully recovered was gone without a trace.

His attractive eyebrows creased tightly.

He threw off the blanket, yanked the IV needle from the back of his hand, blood started to ooze out. He didn’t care at all, not even a single glance.

With his body weak, Bo Jingyan was about to leave the hospital room to find where Xia Qingtian had gone to.

He was about to leave through the hospital room door, but collided with someone.

He looked closely and realized that the person he had bumped into was none other than-

Xia Qingtian!

Despite his lack of strength, he still managed to knock Xia Qingtian back several steps, she even nearly fell.

Fortunately, Bo Jingyan was quick to hold her arm, helping her to keep her balance and prevent her from falling in an embarrassing situation.

Bo Jingyan looked at Xia Qingtian with worry, "Qingtian, are you alright?"

Xia Qingtian rubbed her forehead that was hurt from the collision, not answering his question. Instead, she asked back with an unhappy tone, "What do you think?"

As she spoke, she let go of her hand which was rubbing her forehead, indicating Bo Jingyan to look at it.

She felt like she had hit a piece of iron, not a person. Thankfully, she hadn’t had any surgery done to her face, or the impact would have messed up any sort of cosmetic work.

Bo Jingyan leaned closer to inspect her, seeing the red mark on her forehead made his heart ache.

"Let me rub it for you..." As he reached out his hand, Xia Qingtian caught sight of something and grabbed his hand, her tone somewhat stern, "What happened to your hand? Why is there blood?"

Bo Jingyan didn’t speak, a touch of guilt flickering in his eyes.

"Why are you not speaking?" Xia Qingtian questioned.

Seeing her determination to get to the bottom of the matter, Bo Jingyan awkwardly confessed, "I woke up just now and found you weren’t here. I thought you had left, so I wanted to go after you. The IV needle was getting in my way, so I pulled it out."

Hearing this, Xia Qingtian looked into the room and sure enough, it was in a state of disarray.

This seemed to be her fault to some extent. She didn’t know what to say. After all, it seemed like she had some part to play in this.

She sighed, "I never realized you were so clingy."

Bo Jingyan didn’t mind being called clingy at all, and boldly responded, "I only cling to you!"

Seeing his thick-skinned behavior, Xia Qingtian felt that she could do nothing about him.

She explained, "I just thought that, given your stomach pain and not eating anything all day, you might be hungry when you woke up. So, I went to prepare some Xiaomi porridge for your stomach."

As an indication of her explanation, she gave her thermos flask a little shake.

Earlier, when she almost got sent flying by Bo Jingyan, she hadn’t let go of the thermos flask she had held tightly. She was afraid that he would wake up and have nothing to eat.

"Wife, you treat me so well!" said Bo Jingyan, unable to help but bring a smile to his lips.

Yet, upon hearing his address, a sense of sadness ran through Xia Qingtian’s eyes, warning him, "Please don’t address me that way, we’re already divorced."

"I only consider you as my wife. Sooner or later, I will win you back." Bo Jingyan looked at her resolutely, his tone firm and unwavering.

Xia Qingtian felt somewhat nonchalant about this.

No one can predict what will happen in the future, and she does not want to have too many expectations. Growing up has made her aware that nothing in this world is absolute, and that things are full of changes.

With her expectations being too high, the disappointment would be massive. So, she simply chose to have no expectations at all.

Xia Qingtian knew that when Bo Jingyan said these words, he was completely serious and sincere. Not wanting to dampen his spirits, she changed the subject, "Well, you must be hungry now. Let’s eat first."

But where would Bo Jingyan not see that she was deliberately avoiding the subject?

"Yes, I’m really hungry." He didn’t press Xia Qingtian to respond to him. After all, he was going to prove himself with his actions.

The two returned to the hospital room together.

After Xia Qingtian had poured him the porridge and handed it over, she said, "Eat slowly."

Having said that, she turned around to leave.

But she’d just turned around and hadn’t even taken a step yet when Bo Jingyan grabbed her wrist, preventing her from taking another step forward.

"What’s wrong?" Xia Qingtian turned back to look at him.

"Where are you going?" Bo Jingyan’s gaze was fixated on her, interrogating.

Clearly, he was afraid that Xia Qingtian would leave. Even though Xia Qingtian had promised to stay with him until his injury healed, his unease grew when he couldn’t see her.

He wanted Xia Qingtian to stay within his line of sight at all times. Utmost, his preference was to have her within his sight whenever he looked up.

Glancing at the bleeding on the back of his hand, Xia Qingtian remarked, "You have to let the doctor know that you’ve removed the needle, and allow them to attach a new needle."

Bo Jingyan finally relaxed a bit, but he still didn’t want her to leave the hospital room.

"Just press the call bell by the side of the bed. The doctor and nurse will come when they hear it." As he spoke, he had already pulled Xia Qingtian to sit down on the sofa, got up, and rang the call bell.

Indeed, before long, the doctor and nurse arrived.

Seeing that he had removed the needle, they re-applied the needle for his IV line.

Once everything was done, the doctor left.

Bo Jingyan looked at Xia Qingtian, a hint of smugness could be seen in his eyes, "You don’t have any excuse to leave my sight now, do you?"

"Bo Jingyan, aren’t you being childish?" Xia Qingtian couldn’t help but be amused, "If your company employees knew their president behaves like this in private, would you still have any dignity?"

Bo Jingyan looked indifferent, "The woman I love is about to leave, what’s the use of keeping face?"

"Alright!" Xia Qingtian felt completely helpless towards him, "You win! From today until you’re discharged, I won’t go anywhere and will stay with you in the hospital room, is that okay?"

"Hmm." Bo Jingyan finally started eating his porridge with satisfaction.
