Chapter 612: Chapter 612: Wife Shows Up At Doorstep_1
Bo Jingyan frowned, his face filled with displeasure.
"No hitting!" His voice was still somewhat weak, yet possessed a certain aura of authority and dominance. "You’re my woman. No one can bully you, including yourself."
"Pfft..." Xia Qingtian couldn’t help but laugh. "Why are you so domineering?"
"So you finally smile!" Bo Jingyan shared in the laughter, as if a weight had been lifted off his shoulder.
Xia Qingtian tried to pull her hand back but his grip was too tight. Her body had been paralyzed with fear when he lay powerless on the couch; she just couldn’t muster enough strength to wrestle free.
"Bo Jingyan, let me go first," Xia Qingtian said in a negotiating tone.
Bo Jingyan did not loosen his grip; instead, he held her tighter.
"Why would I let go when you have willingly walked into my arms?" His deep gaze reflected a stubborn persistence. "I will not let go."
Xia Qingtian felt helpless. "If you don’t let go of me, how can I call for an ambulance?"
Though Bo Jingyan had since awakened, the image of his frail form lying on the couch, with faint breathing and unconscious demeanor, still left a lingering fear in her heart.
"No need." Bo Jingyan refused. "I understand my body better. I just haven’t eaten all day. My stomach hurts a bit, and I fell into a deep sleep."
As he spoke these words, he took away Xia Qingtian’s mobile phone.
"Really?" Xia Qingtian doubted his condition.
Instead of responding, Bo Jingyan pulled her forcefully into his arms.
She was caught off guard, and lost balance, tumbling into Bo Jingyan’s embrace.
She was startled, nervous about landing too heavily on Bo Jingyan.
Struggling to get up, she asked anxiously, "Bo Jingyan, are you alright?"
Bo Jingyan, however, looped an arm around her waist, pulling her firmly against him without loosening his hold. "Don’t move, let me hold you," he spoke.
Xia Qingtian was speechless. Here he was, joking around despite being unwell. Was he disregarding his life or his body?
This thought left Xia Qingtian seething in anger.
"Bo Jingyan, let me go. Can you stop fooling around?" She tried to fend off Bo Jingyan and get up from the couch, her tone sounding particularly stern.
Bo Jingyan didn’t expect her to become so fearsome all of a sudden.
However, he also understood Xia Qingtian’s anger was solely due to her concern for his well-being. Instead of feeling upset, he was secretly pleased.
Without arguing, Bo Jingyan pleaded pitifully, "My stomach hurts a lot, let me hold you."
Upon hearing this, Xia Qingtian instantly forgot her anger, "The pain, is it severe?"
"Yes." Bo Jingyan nodded, his face slightly pale.
"Then let’s go to the hospital," Xia Qingtian replied turning the issue back to the hospital. It was not an option to avoid the hospital!
He leaned his chin against her shoulder, "No need for the hospital, you are my best medicine. If you let me hold you, the pain will go away."
Of course, Xia Qingtian did not fall for such nonsense.
The discomfort needed professional medical attention. If untreated, it would only exacerbate his condition.
The disparity in physical strength between men and women was too great. Even if Bo Jingyan was not at his optimum health, he were still stronger than her.
Now that Bo Jingyan was adamant about not letting go, she was trapped.
Most importantly, his health condition prevented her from using excessive force.
Having tried the tough approach without result, she now softened her tone to coax him into releasing his grip. "Jingyan, we should go to the hospital to check on your discomfort, okay?"
"Nope!" Bo Jingyan flatly declined, his eyes closed and his grip tight–the very picture of non-cooperation.
It was frustrating to see him in this state. However, he’s the patient, and she had to be cautious with her approach.
Suppressing the surge of emotions, she asked calmly, "Why? Why don’t you want to let go of me? Why don’t you want to go to the hospital?"
By identifying the root cause of the problem, she could devise solutions to this predicament.
If she promised not to leave, Bo was more likely to cooperate. "Because I do not want to let you go. The moment I release my hold on you, you will leave me again and push me away."
It surprised Xia Qingtian that this was what he had been thinking about.
All the frustration and anger she had pent up earlier evaporated in an instant. Instead, a sour feeling welled up in her heart.
"I won’t leave!" She promised Bo Jingyan. "I will stay by your side until you get better."
In her words, she had set a language trap, hoping somewhat optimistically, that Jingyan, muddled by his sickness, would fall for it. Unfortunately...
She was bound to fail!
Bo Jingyan was experiencing a stomachache, not delirium. He caught on to the trap in her words, even in his current state.
"I’m even less willing to go to the hospital. If I’m unwell, you will continue to stay by my side." Bo Jingyan tossed out these words that seemed like a joke, but the seriousness in his tone said otherwise.
Xia Qingtian had every reason to suspect that he really meant what he said.
At present, she felt utterly helpless. She simply couldn’t deal with Bo Jingyan. Using either forceful or gentle measures did not seem to work. All the while, Bo persisted on staying at home instead of going to the hospital, which didn’t seem like a feasible option either.
Not to mention the severity of Bo’s condition.
What Xia Qingtian had to admit was that she felt uneasy, worried, and reluctant when Bo was suffering.
If Bo was unwell, it was not only him who suffered but also her, as she shared in the torment.
It was now clear that deceiving Bo was a futile effort. If she wanted him to be obedient, the best approach was to have an honest conversation with him.
With this in mind, Xia Qingtian’s tone suddenly became serious.
"Bo Jingyan..." She called his name.
"Hmm!" Bo Jingyan answered lazily, holding her tightly. He added, "If you want to make me let you go, don’t even think about it."
"It’s not that I want you to let go, but I think it’s necessary for us to talk." Xia Qingtian said emotionlessly.
Bo Jingyan noted the change in her tone but didn’t take it to heart.
He had made up his mind to keep Xia Qingtian with him forever, ensuring she would never have the chance to leave him.
