Chapter 611: Chapter 611: You are My Woman_1
Once Xia Qingtian had processed her thoughts, she called Bo Jingyan.
However, her call was met with a ringing tone, but no one picked up.
She furrowed her eyebrows - why was he not answering? Was it because she’d upset him at the villa that day, and so he was deliberately ignoring her calls?
But then, upon further reflection, she thought that it was unlikely!
Bo Jingyan was not the type to be petty, nor could he ignore her calls.
Was he busy with something or had he just not heard his phone because it was on silent?
Just as Xia Qingtian was hesitating whether or not to keep calling, she faintly heard a ringtone. The sound was so soft that it would have gone unnoticed without careful attention.
She listened more closely and confirmed that it was, indeed, a phone ringing, and the sound appeared to be coming from...
Xia Qingtian put her ear to the door of Bo Jingyan’s home. The sound got a bit louder, and she suddenly became sure that it was coming from inside the house.
If Bo Jingyan was at home and his phone was not on silent, then why wasn’t he answering?
"Bo Jingyan, it’s me, Xia Qingtian! I know you’re at home, open the door!" Instead of continuing to call, Xia Qingtian forcefully knocked on the door three times, calling out loudly into the room.
Unfortunately, the room remained silent.
There was no sign that Bo Jingyan had any intention of opening the door.
Xia Qingtian thought she must have guessed wrong; maybe he was really still angry, and that’s why he was deliberately ignoring her. With no other option, she called Jian Xuan to ask him to relay to Bo Jingyan that she was there to deliver some burn ointment, and for him to come out and collect it.
If he truly didn’t want to see her, she could just leave the ointment at the door.
Bo Jingyan could collect it after she had left.
After waiting for a while, Xia Qingtian received a call from Jian Xuan.
Jian Xuan informed her over the phone that Bo Jingyan was not only ignoring her calls but also his.
Xia Qingtian frowned, suddenly realizing that something was amiss.
It was understandable if Bo Jingyan was not answering her calls; he could still be angry or he could’ve decided that he wanted to have nothing to do with her.
But it was unlikely that he would also ignore Jian Xuan’s calls. Now that the situation had become like this, there could only be one explanation...
Bo Jingyan was in trouble!
As soon as she realized this, Xia Qingtian was desperate to go in and check on him, but the door was too solid for her to break down and waiting for a locksmith or the fire department would take too much time – time she did not have.
Bo Jingyan’s front door was secured with a passcode lock, so she decided to try and guess the passcode.
At first, she entered Bo Jingyan’s birthday, but it was incorrect.
Then she entered her own birthday, but that was also incorrect.
What could Bo Jingyan’s passcode be?
If he hadn’t suffered from amnesia, guessing his passcode would be easier. But since he had, and he forgot many things from his past, she wasn’t so sure.
The passcode lock was too smart; after three incorrect attempts, it would lock for half an hour.
What date could be significant and unforgettable to Bo Jingyan after his amnesia?
Could it be...
A set of numbers suddenly popped into Xia Qingtian’s mind. Could it be...
The more she thought about it, the more likely it seemed. She quickly input the series of numbers, heard a beep, and the door opened.
She had input the date of the night of the Jihua Awards banquet – the night she got drunk, was taken home by Bo Jingyan, they slept together, and it led to Bo Jingyan confessing his feelings to her, saying he wanted to start anew.
That day carried a special significance for both her and Bo Jingyan.
As Xia Qingtian pushed open the door, she saw that Bo Jingyan was lying motionless on the couch, his phone discarded on a side table with several missed call notifications.
She froze, too afraid to approach Bo Jingyan.
She was enveloped in an overwhelming sense of fear.
She was afraid that something might have happened to Bo Jingyan, scared that she would never see him again, and terrified of losing him forever.
Only now did Xia Qingtian fully realize that regardless of past sweetness, disappointments, pain, predicaments – even though they’d divorced – she still couldn’t cut her emotional ties to the man before her.
Her constant refusal of Bo Jingyan was simply an attempt to avoid facing her feelings.
At this moment, she could no longer evade them.
Xia Qingtian forced herself to hold back her surging emotions and slowly approached the man on the couch, step by agonizing step.
Every step felt like dancing on the edge of a knife.
Every passing minute and second felt agonizingly long. Finally, she reached Bo Jingyan’s side and reached out to check his breathing.
Thankfully, he was still breathing!
Xia Qingtian lightly shook Bo Jingyan’s shoulder and slapped his face gently, her voice trembling as she asked, "Bo Jingyan, wake up. What happened? Are you okay?"
There was no response from Bo Jingyan.
Xia Qingtian could no longer hold back her tears that flowed freely like a broken dam.
Not even bothering to wipe away her tears, she was about to call for an ambulance. However, her hand was shaking so much that she kept misdialing the number.
Angrily, she lifted her hand, intending to slap herself in an effort to calm down. But just as her hand was about to land on her face, suddenly...
She felt a grip on her wrist. Someone had stopped her.
In the house, aside from her, there was only Bo Jingyan... Could it be him?
With that thought in mind, Xia Qingtian instinctively looked over at Bo Jingyan, only to see that his eyes, previously closed and unconscious, were now open, staring at her with an expression of objection.
"Bo Jingyan, you... you’re awake?" Xia Qingtian stuttered, overwhelmed with surprise.
"Mhm..." Perhaps because he had just woken up, Bo Jingyan’s voice was somewhat hoarse, "Your tears fell on my face. If I didn’t wake up soon, I was afraid I’d drown in your tears."
Having said that, he raised his other hand, wiping away her tears with his other hand and said, "Don’t cry anymore, it hurts me to see it."
It was only after her face was wiped dry that Xia Qingtian looked down at Bo Jingyan, realizing the tears she had neglected to wipe away in her haste to call an ambulance had all fallen onto his face.
No matter what, it was such a relief that Bo Jingyan had woken up!
She sniffled, her voice thick with unshed tears as she exclaimed, "Bo Jingyan, it feels so good to see you wake up!"
Bo Jingyan didn’t respond, instead he asked her, "What were you planning to do when I woke up and saw you raising your hand?"
Her brain was still blank from the scare.
Facing Bo Jingyan’s questioning, she could only honestly answer, "When I saw you lying on the couch and you wouldn’t wake up no matter how much I called, I was so scared... I wanted to slap myself to calm down."
