Chapter 601: Chapter 601: Full of Him_1

A glint of coldness flashed across Xia Qingtian’s eyes.

She took out her mobile phone, intending to call a private detective to probe whether the person behind all this was the one she had suspected.

However, before she could make her call, her phone lit up with an incoming number.

Xia Qingtian glanced at the display. It was another call from an unknown number.

She was initialy not planning to pick it up, but at the impending moment of rejecting the call, she suddenly decided not to, her finger hovering over the disconnect button.

Changing her mind, she picked up the call.

"Ms. Xia..." A slick and sleazy voice called from the other side. "Are you satisfied with the ’gift’ I’ve sent you?"

Xia Qingtian instantly recognized the caller to be Zhu Wei.

Upon thinking of Zhu Wei, her complexion radiated an instant coldness, "So, it was you who scared off my investors, even those who had signed contracts with me?"

Though she posed her sentence as a question, it was meant more as a statement.

"Indeed, surprised are you?" Zhu Wei was especially cocky today.

Qingtian chuckled, "Not at all."

Truth be told, suspecting Zhu Wei of sabotaging her secretly, not only was she unsurprised, but she had anticipated it. Even before this call, she had already had her suspicions.

Employing a private investigator was merely to confirm her premonition.

Now that the culprit had confessed, she wouldn’t need to waste any more time, money, or energy on investigation. In that vein, Zhu Wei could be considered considerate.

Zhu Wei, sensing a lack of satisfaction due to Xia Qingtian’s calm attitude retorted, "You’re just a stubborn loser."

"So, you called me to...what exactly?" Xia Qingtian asked nonchalantly. "Was the lesson last time insufficient? You want me to educate you again?"

Bored by his antics, she exhaled onto the window then began inscribing aimlessly with her fingers, this helping to pass the time.

Zhu Wei experienced a throbbing pain in his head at the mention of the incident, despite feeling that he had fully recovered.

However, he dismissed the throbbing as a figment of his imagination.

He arrogantly put forth his demand - "You should know by now, the consequences of crossing me. If you apologize when you against me, and spend a good night with me, I will let bygones be bygones."

Xia Qingtian was practically nauseated.

She retorted venomously, "Zhu Wei, even if you have no mirror at home, you should have urine. You should take a good look at yourself. How can a toad craves swan meat? Desire me to accompany you ...it is impossible in this life, the next life, even forever."

These words weren’t intended to embarrass Zhu Wei-in fact, she was sincere.

Her ex-husband was Bo Jingyan, a man of exceptional looks and character. Now, working in the entertainment industry and connecting with handsome men and beautiful women like Huo Qilin and Cheng Bingbing.

How could she possibly have eyes for a sleazy freeloader?

"You!" Zhu Wei was left almost speechless in anger.

Qingtian couldn’t be bothered to entertain him. Now that she knew who was conspiring against her, she had to think about the next step, and she didn’t want to waste any more time.

"If there’s nothing else, I’m hanging up." And with that, she prepared to hang up.

"Wait!" Zhu Wei stopped her, threateningly. "The stuff I’ve done before was just a little lesson, I’ve yet to start the real show. There’s still time for you to repent now. Otherwise, I will ensure you will not only lose investors, but also shut down your little entertainment company."

"Well, try your luck then," Xia Qingtian fearlessly responded.

While she didn’t yet have a plan to tackle Zhu Wei, she knew the importance of standing her ground.

"This is your choice, don’t regret it!" Zhu Wei’s tone was icy cold.

Xia Qingtian didn’t respond and simply hung up the phone.

Despite her seemingly nonchalant demeanor on the call, she was nervous about fighting Zhu Wei. She was unsure of his next move.

Zhu Wei, though he had just returned to A City and had been nothing but a freeloader for years, held a significant advantage.

He was rich.

There was a saying - money talks. Wasn’t this the best proof for her recent obstacles?

With a worried sigh, Xia Qingtian didn’t regret her assertive tone on the phone call, which left the Lee on the other end fuming.

Zhu Wei’s goal was to win her over, even if she had pleaded on the phone, as long as his goal was not achieved, he would not let her go.

Why should she upset herself? Of course, she had to be comfortable!

As for what was to come, she would just have to take it one step at a time. She refused to believe that she couldn’t hold her ground.

With that thought, Xia Qingtian felt considerably lighter.

She put her phone away, and prepared to leave the meeting room, only to freeze when she caught sight of her absentminded doodles on the window.

All over the glinting glass were scribbled words—

Bo Jingyan!

The name ’Bo Jingyan’ was inscribed all over the glass window.

Turns out, while making the call, she wasn’t just aimlessly doodling, but had unintentionally written out Bo Jingyan’s name.

Xia Qingtian, somewhat guilty, immediately wiped the names off the glass.

It wasn’t until all the names were cleaned up, and no others would see them, did she let out a sigh of relief. Good thing she caught it in time. Should anyone enter the meeting room and see those names, and know they were written by her, they would certainly mistake her for a fool.

Xia Qingtian no longer wanted to linger in the meeting room and left as quickly as she could.

After leaving the meeting room, she thought about the downcast agents she met when coming to the company this morning, and decided to consult them, in case they were having problems.

Most of the agents had already left, with only a few remaining in the company.

After a short chat with an agent, she learned that the company’s artists had recently had some bad luck. Contracts that were close to signing were scrapped, and a cooked duck had flown away.

Another one was worse, their artist had not only signed a contract and had even started promotional photoshoots, but was still replaced in the end.

The agents, of course, were not happy at all.

Qingtian had also started her career in the entertainment company as an agent, and had similar encounters, so she felt empathetic, these events were inevitable in this industry

All she could do was pat the agent’s shoulder and offer comforting words of encouragement.
