Zhu Wei was momentarily intimidated and subconsciously let go of Xia Qingtian.

Once he recovered his senses, he realized he had been intimidated by a beautiful woman. This only piqued his interest, as men are usually thrilled by challenges. Zhu Wei was no exception.

The more he interacted with Xia Qingtian, the more attracted he felt.

"Miss Xia, I genuinely want to be friends with you. Don’t keep me at an arm’s length like this," with a smug grin, Zhu Wei stepped forward, blocking her path. He said, "I have quickly learned a few things about you."

As he spoke, his eyes roved over Xia Qingtian restlessly and he grabbed her arm again, blatantly caressing it.

"I understand that your entertainment company is preparing to go public. I can help you with that. Let’s find a quiet place to chat and drink," he suggested slyly.

Xia Qingtian patiently allowed him to finish his statement, eager to know his intentions.

Now, she understood. He intended to strike a deal with her.

She was not willing to tolerate such a despicable man in the slightest, nor did she want to let him save face.

Xia Qingtian clenched her fists, ready to slap him and teach him how to respect women. But before she could raise her hand, a young man hurried over.

"Mr. Zhu...", he began, "..let go of Mrs. Bo!"

"Mrs. Bo?" Zhu Wei was a little taken aback.

The man nodded and explained, "The lady you’re holding onto is Mrs. Bo."

"By ’Bo’, you mean Bo Jingyan?" Zhu Wei just mentioned this name, and unease settled in. His scalp tingled with fear.

Though Zhu Wei had just returned to A City and had limited knowledge about its business environment, he was well aware of the notorious Bo Jingyan. He topped the list of ’People You Shouldn’t Offend in A City’.

Bo Jingyan and Huo Qichen were ranked first on that list.

It was said that if you crossed them, Bo Jingyan would make your life a living hell, while Huo Qichen would kill you before you knew what hit you.

So, upon his return to A City, Zhu Wei had constantly reminded himself not to antagonize these two men.

Now, someone informed him that the woman he was attracted to was likely Mrs. Bo. How could he not be scared?

All of Zhu Wei’s smugness and arrogance vanished instantly, and his face turned pale. He started bowing and scraping before Xia Qingtian,"Mrs. Bo, I’m sorry. I didn’t know who you were. Please forgive me and don’t hold this against me. I promise it won’t happen again."

Xia Qingtian had already divorced Bo Jingyan, so she wasn’t ’Mrs. Bo’ anymore.

But she understood that the man who had just stood up for her was trying to help her. Besides, she did indeed want to get away from the repulsive Mr. Zhu, so she didn’t correct him.
