Chapter 505: Chapter 505: Be Gentle_1
Bo Jingyan really couldn’t figure out why Red Falcon targeted Xia Qingtian? Her upbringing was humble, she should not have attracted such people.
Did someone bribe them?
Who could have bribed Red Falcon then?
All these issues were like a huge mystery, tightly surrounding Qingtian. Any negligence would possibly result in her being completely devoured.
The moment he realized this, Bo Jingyan felt as if an invisible giant hand clenched his heart, giving him a feeling of suffocation.
Returning to the bedside, he took hold of Xia Qingtian’s hand.
"Xia Qingtian, don’t worry, I will protect you, you will not be harmed," he whispered softly, promising her.
Xia Qingtian didn’t hear what he said. While in her deep sleep, she only sensed Bo Jingyan’s presence, subconsciously rolled over closer to him and fell into a deeper sleep.
When Xia Qingtian woke up again, it was already evening.
The sun was about to set, the whole sky was filled with a red sunset. The crimson glow seemed to turn the entire world into a gentle orange, it was stunningly beautiful.
Nevertheless, she didn’t have the mood to enjoy the scenery. After recognising the smell of disinfectant, she suddenly remembered everything that had transpired recently.
Now that she was lying in bed, where was Bo Jingyan?
Bo Jingyan was also injured, wasn’t he? And it seemed serious.
Xia Qingtian instinctively turned her head to look for Bo Jingyan.
Soon, she spotted Bo Jingyan.
Bo Jingyan was sitting by the window, bathed in the orange light from outside. His features softened against the soft light, adding an extra touch of gentleness to his already elegantly handsome face.
He was reporting something quite earnestly in a low voice.
Bo Jingyan’s uninjured hand was resting on his forehead, indicating that he was contemplating deeply.
They say a man looks the most handsome when he is focused.
At this moment, shrouded in the setting sun, the deep thinking Bo Jingyan looked just like a charming spirit, to the point where Xia Qingtian was completely stunned, incapable of turning her gaze away from him.
Bo Jingyan was actually briefing his subordinates on their investigation’s findings.
Knowing the right answer that Xia Guohua’s situation could potentially be linked to Red Falcon, and investigating in reverse, things went on smoothly. In just half a day, they had found out the results.
His guesses were correct. The uncertainty of Xia Guohua’s life and the death of the assistant were all linked to Red Falcon’s meddling. Their worst fears had occurred.
Bo Jingyan was agonizing over this when suddenly...
He acutely felt someone’s gaze on him. Instantly, his sharp eyes shot towards the source of the gaze. Surprisingly, they met with Xia Qingtian’s clear eyes, filled with warmth and a hint of amusement.
The cold energy in Bo Jingyan’s eyes instantly melted away, akin to ice thawing.
He waved his hand at his subordinates, "Alright, I’ve got the message. You may leave now."
His subordinate nodded and left.
Bo Jingyan then walked towards the bed and looked at the indolent woman on it, asking, "How are you feeling now? Still tired?"
Xia Qingtian finally reacted.
Bo Jingyan was the actual patient. Yet, here she was, lying in the patient’s bed while the real patient, unfortunately, had to stand by and watch.
Immediately, she threw off the blanket and jumped down from the bed.
But she had forgotten that she had tripped and injured her leg when she excitedly opened the door to the operation room earlier. After a few days, the injury on her leg hadn’t healed but instead was hurting more.
The moment Xia Qingtian’s leg touched the ground, a piercing pain shot through it.
"Ah..." She cried out in pain. Her legs gave out, and she almost ended up falling to the ground, adding injury to injury.
Luckily, Bo Jingyan was there. As her knee was about to hit the ground, he grabbed her arm and forcefully pulled her back up.
After regaining her balance, Xia Qingtian, still somewhat scared, patted her chest. She then looked at the man in front of her gratefully, saying, "Thank goodness you were here, or else I would have been in deep trouble."
Bo Jingyan didn’t respond, instead he asked, "What happened to your leg?"
Xia Qingtian didn’t want him to know about her leg injury nor the reason she got hurt. It felt embarrassing. Therefore, she acted as if nothing was wrong and said, "It’s nothing. I’ve been lying down for too long, my legs are just a little weak."
Bo Jingyan did not comment on whether he believed her or not.
He just held her by the arm, leading her to a sofa not far away.
Xia Qingtian’s knee hurt terribly. But to prevent Bo Jingyan from noticing anything, she did not reveal it and bit down, swallowing all her cries of pain.
Bo Jingyan assisted her to sit down on the sofa.
Then, all of a sudden, before she could even respond, he kneeled down on one knee, lifting up her leg.
His actions were too sudden that Xia Qingtian took a moment to process it.
By the time she did, Bo Jingyan had already lifted one of legs and rolled up her pants, revealing the dried bloodstream and a large patch of wound bruised purplish.
Seeing the wound, Xia Qingtian, the injured party herself, barely had any reaction, but Bo Jingyan involuntarily sucked in a sharp breath from the surprise.
"How did it get so bad? When did you get injured?" He frowned, asking in a cold tone.
Xia Qingtian, feeling slightly uncomfortable, wanted to pull her leg back and casually said, "It’s nothing much, I just accidentally bumped into something."
But Bo Jingyan held on to her ankle, preventing her from moving.
Just then, a nurse arrived for rounds. He immediately asked the nurse to treat Xia Qingtian’s wound.
The nurse left to get the necessary items after examining her wound.
Quickly, the nurse came back with medicine and gauze to dress Xia Qingtian’s wound.
During the disinfection process, a sharp pain emanated from the wounded area. Unable to hold back, Xia Qingtian shivered slightly, letting out a quiet cry of pain.
At this, Bo Jingyan’s eyes flashed with a glimmer of coldness. He warned the nurse, "Be gentle."
His sudden statement coupled with his cold tone startled the nurse. Her hands trembled slightly, and she ended up pressing harder on the wound during the disinfection process, causing Xia Qingtian to shiver in pain again.
Bo Jingyan could no longer bear to watch this.
He took the medicine and gauze from the nurse’s hand, saying, "I’ll bandage her wound. You can go about your business."
The nurse was relieved to hand over everything to Bo Jingyan. He was too intimidating. Throughout the entire treatment process, his glares were cold enough to freeze her solid. If it wasn’t for her professional responsibility, she would’ve preferred not to treat Xia Qingtian’s wound at all.
Now that he took the initiative to say he would handle it, she was more than willing.
Bo Jingyan didn’t mind what the nurse was thinking. He took the gauze and medicine, carefully bandaging Xia Qingtian’s wound without causing her any pain.
