Chapter 504: Chapter 504 Finally Safe_1
Almost as soon as he heard Xia Qingtian’s words, Bo Jingyan fell into unconsciousness.
Xia Qingtian witnessed this and felt an inexplicable sense of discomfort.
She knew that Bo Jingyan stayed awake because he was worried about her being afraid. He sustained a great deal of self-control to resist the body’s instinct to fall unconscious.
She, too, had struggled with similar circumstances when she was injured due to Huo Qilin’s obsessive fans who pursued her in cars. Hence, she understood the difficulty Bo Jingyan had to endure.
Yet, he did it for her.
At this moment, Xia Qingtian’s heart softened tremendously.
"Madam, please let us handle Mr. Bo," his subordinates said, preparing to take him away.
However, Bo Jingyan clenched Xia Qingtian’s hand tightly, refusing to let go.
Knowing that he was worried about her, Xia Qingtian’s heart softened even further.
She kept holding Bo Jingyan’s hand, accompanying him to the hospital.
In the hospital, Bo Jingyan still refused to let go of her hand, holding on despite the doctors’ attempts to separate them.
This situation couldn’t carry on - Bo Jingyan’s condition was still quite critical and he needed to have his wounds stitched up and receive a blood transfusion.
Xia Qingtian whispered into his ear, "Bo Jingyan, everything’s fine now, we are safe. No one can harm me. Don’t worry anymore."
She felt as if she was clutching at straws.
If he knew she was safe, would he finally let go of her hand?
As expected, what she’d guessed came true.
The unconscious Bo Jingyan, as if he’d understood her words, relaxed his furrowed brow and slowly released her hand.
Bo Jingyan was eventually rushed into the operating room without further complications.
And Xia Qingtian stood still, staring at her nearly bruised arm, lost in thought.
Even though Bo Jingyan had lost his memory, he had fallen in love with her again.
Moreover, he loved her more than she had realized.
When she recognized this, her heart felt completed.
After an undetermined amount of time, the doors of the operating room were pushed open.
Xia Qingtian rushed towards the operating room, tripped due to her numbed legs from standing too long, and fell.
Paying no attention to her own injuries, she got up as fast as she could and reached the doctor, asking, "Doctor, how is the patient?"
The doctor took off his mask and said, "Fortunately, the bullet in the patient’s body was promptly removed and treated for hemorrhaging. Although there was quite a bit of blood loss, it’s not life-threatening."
"Thank you, doctor, thank you," Xia Qingtian expressed her gratitude.
The doctor humbly asserted that saving lives was merely their obligation. He then glanced at her leg, "You should have a nurse take care of your leg wound."
Only now did Xia Qingtian notice that she had injured her knee when she fell.
She was so concerned about Bo Jingyan that she didn’t realize she had been injured herself. She nodded, "Alright, thank you, doctor."
Having said what needed to be said, the doctor turned and left.
Immediately after, the still unconscious Bo Jingyan was wheeled out of the operating room by the medical staff.
Ignoring the injury on her knee, Xia Qingtian accompanied Bo Jingyan towards the ward.
Seeing her pale face, Bo Jingyan’s subordinates suggested she return to the hotel and rest. But she declined, unable to be at ease until Bo Jingyan awoke, despite the doctor’s assurance that his life was not at risk.
Upon realizing their attempts at persuasion were in vain, and unable to force her, all they could do was let her stay by the ward.
Xia Qingtian stayed by his side day and night.
It was only the morning of the third day when Bo Jingyan finally opened his eyes.
When he did, his eyes, devoid of any confusion, instinctively searched for Xia Qingtian’s figure.
Soon, he saw Xia Qingtian sleeping heavily by his bed, her beautiful face smeared with exhaustion. His normally cold heart was immediately filled with affection and concern.
At this moment, the ward’s door was suddenly opened.
Bo Jingyan’s subordinate stepped in, "Mr. Bo..."
His words were abruptly cut off by a sharp look from Bo Jingyan.
The subordinate immediately fell silent.
Ignoring his subordinate, Bo Jingyan got out of bed - a wave of pain rushing through his ribs and shoulders. He stooped down, restraining the pain, picked her up, and placed her on the bed.
Xia Qingtian stirred awake, still a little drowsy.
Bo Jingyan immediately reassured her, "Rest easy and sleep. I’m alright now."
Xia Qingtian, exhausted as she was, and feeling as though her eyelids weighed a thousand pounds, couldn’t keep her eyes open. Upon hearing Bo Jingyan’s words, she allowed herself to drift back to sleep.
Seeing her back asleep, Bo Jingyan’s expression relaxed a little.
He turned towards his subordinate and asked quietly, "What is it? Is something wrong?"
Knowing he didn’t want to wake Xia Qingtian, the subordinate also lowered his voice, "Mr. Bo, we have investigated. The people who attacked you on the highway are assassins from the Red Falcon Organization."
"Red Falcon?" Bo Jingyan raised his brow.
The Red Falcon, an infamous international assassin organization filled with skilled individuals, yet neither he nor Xia Qingtian had any disputes with them. Why would the Red Falcon send assassins after them?
Could it be due to Xia Guohua?
What puzzled Bo Jingyan was how the assassins pursuing him and Xia Qingtian, while being fierce in their attacks, lacked the fine skill expected of the Red Falcon’s men.
The subordinate seemed to have thought of something, adding, "Also, the man who attacked Mrs. Xia abroad and was shot by you, falling into the river, was also a member of the Red Falcon."
"What did you say?" Bo Jingyan’s face slightly changed.
Startled by his reaction, the subordinate repeated his words faithfully.
Bo Jingyan’s expression became serious. If both the previous and current attackers were from the Red Falcon, then the situation was grave indeed.
Because this meant that the Red Falcon’s actual target was Xia Qingtian.
It wasn’t due to their investigation of Xia Guohua’s whereabouts that they upset the Red Falcon or those behind it.
With this in mind, Bo Jingyan furrowed his brows and said to his subordinate, "Investigate further. See if traces of the Red Falcon or their men can be found in the affair involving Xia Guohua."
"Yes," the subordinate left after receiving his orders.
Bo Jingyan’s furrowed brows showed no sign of relaxing.
If Xia Guohua’s case also revealed traces of the Red Falcon, it was highly likely that Xia Guohua’s accident had been caused by Xia Qingtian being targeted.
