Chapter 489: Chapter 489: Mr. Bo is really considerate_1
Xia Qingtian was going to travel abroad. She didn’t know how long it would take. Two days before departure, she did not go anywhere else but stayed at home with An’an.
She feared if she was away for too long the baby might forget about her—his mother.
It was the babysitter who comforted her, pointing out the advantages of modern communication.
She could have video calls with An’an from abroad.
Now An’an was old enough to see clearly and could hear his mother’s voice.
These assurances slightly eased Xia Qingtian’s feeling of reluctance to part with her baby.
Quickly, two days passed.
Early in the morning, Bo Jingyan had come to her villa to take her to the airport.
When he arrived, Xia Qingtian was holding An’an, saying tearful goodbyes to him. Despite not knowing whether the toddler understood, she repeatedly told him not to forget his mom.
All An’an did was look at her, revealing his pink gums, which made him look especially cute.
Seeing the bond between mother and son, a wave of silent tenderness washed over Bo Jingyan—even though he had lost all memory of An’an.
Realizing that the child carried the blood of both him and Xia Qingtian, he found himself drawn to An’an and asked, "May I hold the baby?"
"Of course," Xia Qingtian nodded.
No matter whether Bo Jingyan could recall the three years he had lost, or whether they would be together in the future, An’an was undeniably Bo Jingyan’s child too.
Given this, Xia Qingtian wouldn’t prevent him from getting closer to An’an.
An’an needed not only maternal love but also paternal love.
With this in mind, Xia Qingtian handed the chubby little boy over to Bo Jingyan saying, "Your turn."
Bo Jingyan reached out to take hold of An’an.
Unexpectedly, the little lump of cuteness twisted his face away, kicking his chubby legs in apparent displeasure. His refusal was written all over his little body.
It was clear that he didn’t want his dad to hold him.
Bo Jingyan was always domineering. Not caring whether the chubby boy whished to be held by him or not, he took An’an into his arms in a high-handed and assertive manner.
Although coming off as strong and domineering, Bo Jingyan’s hands were actually gentle as he held An’an.
But held in the arms of Jingyan, An’an reached out towards Xia Qingtian, showing that he wanted his mom to hold him instead.
Jingyan kept An’an in his arms, not allowing him to wriggle free.
Luckily, An’an was a good-natured child, and even under these circumstances, he did not throw a tantrum.
After Bo Jingyan had played with An’an for a while, Jian Xuan had to remind him that if they didn’t leave soon, they might miss their flight.
Only then did Bo Jingyan, a hint of regret in his actions, hand An’an back to the babysitter, pick up Xia Qingtian’s luggage, and say, "Alright, we’re off."
Xia Qingtian followed behind him, repeatedly glancing back as they left the villa.
Even after she had gotten into the car, she continued looking back.
It was not until the car had driven far away and she could no longer see the villa that Xia Qingtian withdrew her gaze with a look of melancholy on her face.
Seeing her like this, Bo Jingyan held her hand and said, "I will locate your father as soon as possible and bring the two of you back home. This won’t take long. You will soon return to be with your chubby little boy."
"Hmm," Xia Qingtian nodded, not pulling her hand away. There was no doubt in her mind about what he had said.
She knew that Bo Jingyan wasn’t just boasting. He genuinely had the capacity to do it.
It was fortunate that Jian Xuan had reminded them in time, otherwise they may have missed their flight.
Of those traveling abroad this time, Jian Xuan was not among them. Since Bo Jingyan would be gone for some time with an uncertain return date and though he had organised matters with the company, someone trustworthy and capable still needed to stick around to oversee operations.
If anything unexpected were to happen at the company, they were in charge of taking care of things.
Jian Xuan, his assistant, was the best man for the job.
Bo Jingyan made a few quick arrangements before boarding the plane with Xia Qingtian.
After they boarded, Bo Jingyan asked Xia Qingtian to rest on his shoulder, saying, "There’s still a long time before the plane lands. You should get some more rest."
"Hmm," Xia Qingtian didn’t resist.
In fact, she hadn’t been resting properly for some time.
Leaning against Bo Jingyan’s shoulder, she felt a sense of safety that she hadn’t felt in a while, and sleep overcame her quickly. Before long, she had drifted into a deep sleep.
Bo Jingyan asked the flight attendant for a blanket for her to keep her warm. He then began to recline the plane seat, wanting her to lie down.
However, as soon as he moved Xia Qingtian’s head from his shoulder, she let out a sound of displeasure, her brows furrowing as if she were about to wake up.
Immediately, Bo Jingyan placed Xia Qingtian’s head back on his shoulder.
Xia Qingtian’s furrowed brows instantly relaxed.
Seeing this, Bo Jingyan gave up on the idea of having her lie down to rest. He let her lean against his shoulder and even adjusted his posture a bit to make her more comfortable.
When Xia Qingtian woke up, the plane had already landed at B Country’s airport.
She slowly opened her eyes, straightened her body, and stretched lazily. Her voice carried a hint of laziness as she asked, "Have we arrived?"
"Yes, we have," Bo Jingyan replied.
Thoughts of her father going missing in this city shook off her lingering sleepiness.
She immediately got up and said, "Come on, let’s get off the plane and start searching."
She walked two steps forward and noticed that Jingyan hadn’t moved. She asked, puzzled, "What’s wrong? Aren’t you coming?"
"Wait a minute," Bo Jingyan’s handsome face showed a hint of discomfort as he said, "My arms and legs are a bit numb. I need a moment."
Xia Qingtian thought about massaging him, but the thought of her hands touching his tingling arms and legs stopped her.
"Didn’t you move around during the flight?" she asked, concerned.
Before Bo Jingyan could reply, a passing flight attendant said enviously, "Ma’am, your husband is very good to you. Just now you were sleeping with your head on his shoulder, and he remained in one position the whole flight so as not to disturb your rest. It’s normal that his legs are numb now." Xia Qingtian was taken aback when she heard this.
She didn’t expect the numbness in Bo Jingyan’s arms and legs to have been caused by her.
Thinking back to what the flight attendant had explained, she felt a pang of guilt.
The journey to B Country was neither too short nor too long—it took at least five to six hours to get to B Country’s airport. It was exhausting to take a flight, but Bo Jingyan had been motionless for so long just to let her sleep more comfortably.
