Chapter 484: Chapter 484: Full of Possessiveness_1

Xia Qingtian shook her head defiantly, insisting, "No, I must go back to A City immediately."

While she was speaking, she was looking up the high-speed train schedule.

The last high-speed train to A City was leaving in five minutes, and it was now impossible to buy a ticket.

Even if she could buy a ticket, there was no way she could get to the station in five minutes.

She was unwilling to wait until the next morning, as she was eager to find out why Xia Guohua, who was abroad, had suddenly lost contact and disappeared, which made her feel uneasy.

"Qingtian, what happened?" Seeing her eagerness, Huo Qilin anxiously asked.

Xia Qingtian just shook her head, showing no desire to share her problems.

"You can tell me. If it’s really urgent, I can ask my brother to arrange for a helicopter to take us back to A City," suggested Huo Qilin.

Upon hearing this, Xia Qingtian’s eyes lit up.

"The reason I need to go back is because of my dad, he..." She briefly explained how her father, Xia Guohua, had gone abroad for medical treatment and had disappeared ever since he recovered. She had asked Bo Jingyan to help look for him overseas.

She had just received a call from Bo Jingyan, who had news about her father.

After she finished explaining, she looked at Huo Qilin earnestly, "That’s the situation. Can you help me?"

"Sure." Huo Qilin readily agreed.

Then, in front of Xia Qingtian, he called his older brother, Huo Qichen, and asked for help.

Although Huo Qichen wasn’t his biological brother, he had always treated Huo Qilin well, even better than his mother. Upon hearing his request, he agreed without asking why it was so urgent.

Two hours later, Huo Qilin got a call from Huo Qichen, saying the helicopter had landed at the nearest airport and they could go there.

When they arrived at the airport, they were surprised to find that it wasn’t a pilot who had come to pick them up, but Huo Qichen himself.

Huo Qichen looked a lot like Huo Qilin, however, compared to Huo Qilin’s vibrant features, Huo Qichen had softer, more beautiful features to the point of appearing somewhat androgynous, without a hint of aggression.

He had a pair of gold-rimmed glasses resting on his nose, looking harmless - the image of an elegant and unworldly scholar.

But no one dared to provoke him.

Everyone who knew him understood he was a powerful figure feared in both the underworld and the legitimate world. Those who offended him would disappear quietly from this world, with no one knowing whether they were dead or alive.

He was, therefore, shrouded in an aura of mystery.

Even though Xia Qingtian had attended banquets held by the Huo Family and had been treated unfairly, it was Huo Qichen who had finally stepped in to handle the situation, taking away the people who wronged her, she never dared to act recklessly in his presence.

Seeing his older brother, Huo Qilin exclaimed in surprise and delight, "Brother, why did you come here personally?"

"Our pilot is off today. Seeing you in such a hurry, I thought I’d come myself." Adjusting his glasses, Huo Qichen, obstructing his cryptic eyes, calmly replied.

"That makes sense..." After helping Xia Qingtian onto the helicopter, Huo Qilin casually patted his brother’s shoulder, "Thanks, bro. I’ll treat you to dinner sometime."

"Alright," replied Huo Qichen without objection.

Xia Qingtian greeted Huo Qichen rather reservedly, "Mr. Huo..."

Huo Qichen’s gaze fell upon her, and he stared at her for quite a while.

Separating them were his icy glasses. Xia Qingtian couldn’t be sure of the meaning behind his intense stare, but she instinctively felt there was something unusual about it.

Feeling intimidated, she nervously touched her face, asking, "Mr. Huo, is there something wrong with me?"

Huo Qilin quietly stepped forward, shielding Xia Qingtian from Huo Qichen’s gaze, "Brother, Qingtian is my assistant, not your subordinate. Don’t scare her."

Only then did Huo Qichen shift his gaze, reminding them, "Sit tight, we’re taking off now."

He made no explanation as to why he kept staring at Xia Qingtian just now.

By early morning, Xia Qingtian had finally reached A City as she wished.

As soon as the plane landed, she called Bo Jingyan immediately, "I’m back in A City. Can you pick me up at the airport?"

Huo Qilin had just told her that Huo Qichen’s car was parked outside and asked where she was going so his brother could drive her there.

For some reason, she felt very apprehensive about Huo Qichen.

Seeing that she insisted on returning to A City despite his advice, Bo Jingyan felt somewhat helpless, but he didn’t reproach her for not heeding his advice.

Now that she was already back, it was pointless to scold her.

What mattered most now was to pick her up.

"Alright, wait for me for half an hour." As he spoke, Bo Jingyan grabbed his jacket and car keys and hurried out.

After ending the call, Xia Qingtian told Huo Qilin, "Bo Jingyan is on his way. It’s getting late, you should go back with Mr. Huo."

Hearing that Bo Jingyan was coming to pick her up, Huo Qilin’s face fell, and he looked slightly reluctant.

However, he considerately replied, "I’m not comfortable leaving you here alone. We’ll wait until Bo Jingyan arrives before we go."

Noticing his insistence, Xia Qingtian didn’t object.

So they stood at the airport entrance, casually discussing upcoming work plans.

As they were chatting, all of a sudden...

Xia Qingtian felt a firm grip around her waist and found herself being pulled into a reassuring embrace.

She didn’t resist, intuitively knowing who it was that held her.

Indeed, when she turned her head, she saw Bo Jingyan’s handsome face.

Right now, Bo Jingyan was looking intently at the Huo brothers, and he said courteously, "I appreciate you helping me bring Qingtian back to A City. I owe you for this. I’m willing to give up a 5% stake in the seaport project to the Huo Family."

Despite the polite tone, his words were full of possessiveness.

It was as if he was making it clear in front of the Huo brothers that Xia Qingtian was his woman.

"Sure thing," replied Huo Qichen, understanding his implicit message. He laughed casually, the image of a perfect gentleman.

However, Huo Qilin frowned in disapproval, and retorted, "That won’t be necessary. Qingtian is my assistant and my friend. I would certainly help her in any difficult circumstances. There’s no need for gratitude."

Bo Jingyan merely nodded without commenting, "Let’s go."

With that, he left with Xia Qingtian in his car.
